Whenever I play something in the browser while connected to my TV by HDMI, the sound still comes out of the laptop speakers. This happened suddenly, without any discernible reason, and I can't seem to fix it. Everything else works, only content played from Firefox remains in the laptop speakers. I've checked my audio mixer, nothing seems amiss, I've updated Firefox and refreshed the application, still nothing. Hell, I've even tried different cables and HDMI ports, but nothing works. What could be the issue? Why did my audio suddenly stop working, and what can I do about it?

I am using FF desktop. All of a sudden, I get no sound through my laptop speakers when trying to watch videos (on YT and FB for example). I still get sound if I use external speakers through the 3.5" jack. I still get sound through other browsers, no matter if it's through the laptop speakers or external ones. So, it is definitely an FF problem. Sound works fine on all other media files on the laptop. Refreshing FF didn't fix it. Nor did reinstalling or restarting the laptop. I tried changing the autoplay settings as suggested in the help article, but still no laptop audio via FF. How can I fix this? Thanks

I have Win 11 dell computer that does not play or pick up sound from web sites videos .I checked and tested my sound using the Microsoft platform & buy playing a disc. It works OK

YouTube videos encoded at 60 frames per second are extremely choppy in Firefox only. Microsoft Edge plays the same videos perfectly.

And oh wonder - immediately, instantly with the change, the video starts playing. If I wait for this - without doing anything myself, it sometimes takes 30 - 40 seconds for the video to start ... sometimes it just "hangs" ... This is extremely annoying - if it doesn't work, I have to switch browsers... What is also extremely annoying is that it occurs almost regularly after an update ... until the next one possibly, for unknown reasons, does not fix the error, but sometimes mitigates it. After updating firefox from 128.8.0 to 128.9.0, no embedded videos will play (youtube, instagram, plex, etc...)

The only way to get them to play is to run the browser in troubleshoot mode. Even a fresh browser profile doesn't work. Disabling hardware acceleration also does not work. Tried firefox 137.0.2 and that also does not work. Downgraded back to 128.8.0 and videos play flawlessly again.

I'm running firefox on gentoo linux on a thinkpad x13s (arm64) which uses Qualcomm Adreno 690 graphics.

I've noticed that whenever I press ⌥⇧Space (option-shift-spacebar) in Firefox Developer Edition, it causes the page to refresh.

This behaviour seems to be consistent across devices.

Is there a way to change/disable this behaviour? It is very inconvenient, as it often causes me to accidentally trigger a page refresh when I type an em dash (`—`) in a text input (opt-shift-dash, and then type a space character after it, I'm very likely to hit opt-shift-space by mistake 🙈).

Since to your "upgrade"to firefocx on my computer I can no longer watch youtube or iplayer videos. Pease say how I can downgrade my version so as to be able to see these.

When I load the video the page loads like normal, all comments and everything is there except the video square is not there. cant see the video, anyhow. even if i move my mouse cursor on it on the start page, the little video wont play the preview. no video player at all. anywhere.

When I play YouTube videos in Firefox, the video stutters and drops frames, even when set to 480p. The audio continues to play normally. This issue does not happen in Chrome on the same laptop.
