I use Xero accounting software and used to be able to view pdf within the software up until the recent update. Now it just sits with a spinning wheel. I've found that if I change the setting within Firefox to open the pdf within Firefox the issue is fixed in Xero. But then all pdf's open in Firefox instead of the usual Adobe. This breaks other workflows within my organisation as I need to email the pdf straight away when I download it, so my Windows was set with Adobe as the default for opening pdf's but now Firefox has taken that over. There does not appear to be any way to email the pdf from Firefox other than to save it and then find the file and email it from there which is very time consuming. I don't know what has changed in Firefox, but please can you fix it. I see I'm not the only person with this issue.

Instructions begin with "Click on the three horizontal lines and select OPTIONS." My updated version of Firefox does not have OPTIONS. Reinstalling Firefox did not solve the problem. In OPTIONS, PDF is supposed to be in the list. Opening a pdf file in Firefox did not cause an edit option to appear.

Hello,

I have a PDF that opens and displays correctly in Adobe as well as the Edge Browser.

However, when I attempt to open it in Firefox in Windows 11 it doesn't show the letter "i" - - - I swear I'm not making it up. I had a friend try to open it in her Firefox (Windows 10) the letter "i" is also missing.

I wish I could attach the actual PDF so others can test but I will add a screenshot to this message.

Regards,

Paul

In previous versions of Firefox (up to version 133), it was possible to automatically trigger printing of a PDF file by loading it into an iframe from a sandboxed iframe and call print. However, starting with version 134, this no longer works.

Is there any other way to automatically trigger the print dialog for a PDF file in Firefox, similar to how it can be done in Chrome/Edge (e.g., by opening the PDF in a new window and directly triggering the print dialog without additional button clicks)?

I have a question about using Firefox PDF Editor. I copied some text from a PDF document that is on my computer, by highlighting the text and then hitting Ctrl+C. The text copied onto my clipboard OK. Then I opened a blank PDF document in the Firefox PDF Editor and tried to paste that text into the blank document, but I wasn't able to do so because when I right-clicked on the blank document and then clicked on "paste", nothing happened. This apparently is because the word "paste" is faded-out in the drop-down menu (i.e., it does not appear in prominent bold print). Google's Artificial Intelligence seems to indicate that the technique I used would work (see screenshot which I've uploaded). But it didn't work, so can anyone please tell me how can I paste text into that blank document?

There is an issue with PDFs downloaded using the Firefox PDF viewer. The PDF contains a valid digital signature. When I set the parameter pdfjs.disabled = true, everything works as expected, the PDF is downloaded correctly, and when I open it with Adobe Reader, the signature is valid. However, when I set this parameter to false (default value) and download the PDF using the built-in Firefox PDF viewer, the signature becomes invalid. I compared both PDF files using a text editor and a diff tool, and the only difference I found was a specific change in the content. 1)pdf- signature is valid Ψα Exif II* μ Ducky d α http://ns.adobe.com/xap/1.0/ <x:xmpmeta xmlns:x="adobe:ns:meta/" x:xmptk="Adobe XMP Core 5.6-c138 79.159824, 2016/09/14-01:09:01 "> <rdf:RDF xmlns:rdf="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#"> <rdf:Description rdf:about="" xmlns:xmpMM="http://ns.adobe.com/xap/1.0/mm/" xmlns:stRef="http://ns.adobe.com/xap/1.0/sType/ResourceRef#" xmlns:xmp="http://ns.adobe.com/xap/1.0/" xmpMM:DocumentID="xmp.did:FF61BC20787811E896E6E83BD502C18A" xmpMM:InstanceID="xmp.iid:FF61BC1F787811E896E6E83BD502C18A" xmp:CreatorTool="paint.net 4.0.16"> <xmpMM:DerivedFrom stRef:instanceID="452A56456B1E68A148301EBAD51349D5" stRef:documentID="452A56456B1E68A148301EBAD51349D5"/> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF> </x:xmpmeta> ξ Adobe dΐ Ϋ „ ΐ F F Δ • 2)invalid pdf Ψα Exif μ Ducky d α http://ns.adobe.com/xap/1.0/ <x:xmpmeta xmlns:x="adobe:ns:meta/" x:xmptk="Adobe XMP Core 5.6-c138 79.159824, 2016/09/14-01:09:01 "> <rdf:RDF xmlns:rdf="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#"> <rdf:Description rdf:about="" xmlns:xmpMM="http://ns.adobe.com/xap/1.0/mm/" xmlns:stRef="http://ns.adobe.com/xap/1.0/sType/ResourceRef#" xmlns:xmp="http://ns.adobe.com/xap/1.0/" xmpMM:DocumentID="xmp.did:FF61BC20787811E896E6E83BD502C18A" xmpMM:InstanceID="xmp.iid:FF61BC1F787811E896E6E83BD502C18A" xmp:CreatorTool="paint.net 4.0.16"> <xmpMM:DerivedFrom stRef:instanceID="452A56456B1E68A148301EBAD51349D5" stRef:documentID="452A56456B1E68A148301EBAD51349D5"/> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF> </x:xmpmeta> ξ Adobe dΐ Ϋ „ ΐ F F Δ • I cannot understand why the Firefox PDF viewer modifies the PDF content. I am using Firefox version 136.0.1 and we have multiple PDFs that are password protected (please see attached screenshot from Adobe Acrobat).

When the PDFs are opened in Firefox, it allows the user to add annotation/text/draw which we do not want to happen hence we added restrictions to the PDF. It seems to me that Firefox does not respect the security added to the file. How can I restrict annotations to the PDF or at least require password when the user tries to add text to it?

The following viewers/editors ask for password before you can edit them (expeted): - Chrome - Edge - Adobe Acrobat Pro

Thank you.

ver: 134.0.1 Windows 10 Pro I have Firefox set to open filetype PDF in Browser. Normally I use IDM which automatically download PDFs, unless I press ALT key while clicking DOWNLOAD button, then it does not, in order to allow Firefox to handle the PDF.

Firefox presently does nothing. With filetype setting set to Open in Browser, Firefox Does nothing. If settings are set to Ask, it does not ask. The PDF filename appears at bottom of screen momentarily.

ver: 115.19.0esr Windows 7 Utl 7601 The exact same behaviour was also seen on a Windows 7 system running Firefox 115.19.0esr. PDF is also set there to "Open in Firefox". Again, when ALT pressed when clicking Download button, Firefox does nothing.
