Hello,

in our company we use firefox esr 78.2 and have blocked the installation of add-ons with our gpo-settings. But we need the openh264-codec-plugin to work (for video conferencing). Is there a chance to only allow / whitelist the openh264-plugin, so firefox can complete this codec-installation ?

We need something like the chrome-policy ExtensionInstallWhitelist: https://www.chromium.org/administrators/policy-list-3#ExtensionInstallWhitelist

thanks in advance and greetings from germany

PayPal pops up a window, which I want to dock as a tab in the main Firefox window.

How do I do that? The "natural" way was to grab the popped-up window and drag it onto the hamburger menu. A quick search only revealed a preference setting to force pop-ups to be tabs, but that is before-the-fact, whereas I would like an after-the-fact solution.

Thanks in advance.

The latest Firefox (80.0.1) doesn't recognize or allow installation of the add-on (amba_5.1.0.13_win--1548386245064.exe) to be able to view my security camera (Foscam FI9928P). Prior to the update, I was able to access the camera just fine. Now I have to use Chrome or IE to be able to view camera web interface.

I am not sure what the Mozilla folks changed, but it really stinks to not be able to use FFox with my security cameras.

Windows 7 Pro 64 bit

Is there a fix for this issue?

It's a simple question: Why Firefox enforces by default extensions like Amazon, Bing, eBay, Google ? What really these extensions do?

Paradox#1: Firefox enforces to use those totally insecurity and unreliable companies! Paradox #2: Firefox don't even show those extensions mentioned above! Paradox #3: Even when I remove them from "Options->Search Engines" these ones keep being enabled and hidden! Paradox #4: Third party program needed to manage those Firefox hidden extensions! I Disable all above extensions by "CCleaner" and: Paradox #5: they comes back by default in every Firefox damn update!

I wish I'm wrong I would pleased if someone explain in an article, or even in few words, why all those. I think Mozilla should detailed explain.

Thanks in advance and Sorry for my English.

Dear Support team, I have updated my very old firefox 32-bit browser may be from version 49 to latest version 80. Post migration, i am unable to see my old saved login and password. I saw other post talking about login.json file which i can seee in current profile holding about 100 ids but same not listed on login password screen from lockwise. I saw that it talk about with login.json it requires key3.db but seems old version don't have it or i dont have it in my profile folder. I know my master password from old browser. So, is there any way to get all my logins restored in updated new browser. Please guide me.

Many thanks for your help.

This is driving me nuts. All of a sudden, I can't search for anything using Google without being asked for verification. You might well have seen this page before:

'I'm not a robot' check box

Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. This page checks to see if it's really you sending the requests, and not a robot. Why did this happen?'

Which leads to the inevitable Select All Images With Traffic Lights etc pop ups. This is ONLY happening on Firefox, Chrome allows me to search on Google and Chrome is what I'll be using from now on if this doesn't get fixed.

Hello,

How can choose a default profile forever ?

I'd like to set a profile as the default one but whenever I open another profile, Firefox sets it as the new default profile so when I open a link, it opens it in the new one instead of the default profile I've set.

I've tried to set the profile.ini file as read-only but Firefox crashes when opening a new instance.

Thank you.

I want to use a local html file as my new tab page. Currently there is no easy way to do this as far as I can tell.

Firefox at some point has removed the in-built option to set the new tab as a local file. Setting the home page as a local file is possible. But setting the new tab as either home (note, not 'Firefox Home') or explicitly the local file is not an option (see attached image).

Previous forum posts point toward New Tab Override extension. However, in recent releases, add-ons cannot offer a work around as Firefox no longer allows add-ons to access local files. In the image attached, New Tab Override extension shows that it cannot use a local file as the new tab. It can however take a file and store it somewhere it has control over. This means every time I edit the local file, I need to manually re-upload this to the extension in each instance of Firefox. It is no longer a good option.

I am sure I used this feature not too long ago and it feels like a very simple thing. I am sure I must have missed some setting or option. Any help achieving this would be greatly appreciated.
