I-Firefox Isithangami Sokwesekwa

After updating to Firefox 15.0.1 and Adobe Flash Player to 11.4, I was unable to view media from YouTube. I was given a message: "This video is unavailable with the Education Filter enabled. To view this video, the site network administrator will need to add it to a playlist". I work for a school district and use my laptop at work so I figured I got that message because YouTube is blocked on that network. But, when I got home, I was given the same message on my home network with YouTube videos. I reset Firefox and it took care of the issue until I went to work and the problem happened all over again with the same message......I tried to view the same videos on a different browser (Safari) and it worked just fine. I'm afraid if I reset Firefox again, I will have the same issue.

Ich habe Thunderbird und Firefox vor einigen Wochen deinstalliert und kann es nun nicht mehr wieder installieren. Beim Download passiert folgendes: 1. Sicherheitsüberprüfung 1-2 Minuten lang (zu lang?) 2. Extracting 3. Run as Meldung: "You may not have the nessesary permissions to use all the features of the program you are about to run. You may run this program as a different user or continue to run the program as the current user. 4a. Bei Eingabe von Run the Program as Administartor + Password erscheint die Fehlermeldung: "Anmeldung Fehlgeschlagen: unbekannter Benutzername oder falsches Kennwort" (beide korrekt!) 4b. Bei Eingabe von Run as current user passiert NICHTS MEHR

In Foren ist das Problem bekannt aber der Hinweis auf alte Profile bringt mich nicht weiter, da kein Ordner Mozilla Firefox existiert bzw eine Profile Datei oder der Profilemanager auffindbar sind. Es existiert noch ein Ordner MozBackup (hier gibt es ein File Default.mozprofile) und den Ordner Mozilla Thunderbird der bis auf eine Date nsIQTScriptablePlugin.xpt leer ist.

Eine Bereinigung es Rechners mit ccCleaner wurde durchgeführt ( nach Auftreten des Problems) Das gleiche Problem tritt beim Installieren von Thunderbird auf, aber nicht bei anderen Programmen.

Ich hoffe jemand kann mir helfen.

There are so many useless replies in other postings that didn't work that I decided to write the manual method for removal. Wading thru a confusing pile of posts is absurd. I hope this posts makes it easier for people trying to remove it.

First, the removal tool at AVG Secure Search doesn't work. It is bs. They even say it may take multiple reboots before it is removed. That is absurd.

Here is manual removal method.

0) Take note of the exact day and time AVG was installed. Write it down.

1) Stop ?ToolBarUpdate process

2) Delete AVG Secure Search directory in

  Program Files (86x)
  Program Files (86x)\Common
  ProgramData
  ProgramData\Common

3) Do a find in regedit. Delete any major entry containing "AVG Secure Search".

4) Search your local drive for any remaining file created around time that AVG program was installed. Look at properties attributes for the file. See if it is created by AVG. Delete it if so.

  There may be an avg@toolbar directory left also.

5) You may as well remove anything in Firefox as well. Check the directories again 24 hours later to make sure the AVG Secure Search doesn't exist or didn't reinstall

since ff 15.0.1 update ( today) netscape.security.PrivilegeManager.enablePrivilege("UniversalXPConnect") does not ask for the privilege anymore ... Is the xpcom interface outdated ?

These problems only occur when I access Facebook in Firefox. The same problems don't occur in Chrome.

I can view my Facebook message inbox, but when I try to open a message/message thread, it doesn't load. I just see the loading icon.

Similarly, if I try to use the icons in the top menu bar (notification icons on the left, arrow on the right), I don't get a drop-down if I click on them. If I click the notification icons on the top left, I should get a drop-down showing the recent activity, but instead it just switches to the icon showing that I don't have any new activity. If I click the arrow on the right, I should get a drop-down with account options, but instead it just takes me straight to the "General Account Settings" page.

Netflix movies play using Safari, but not Firefox. Using Firefox 15.0.1, Mac OS 10.7.5, and Sliverlight 5.1.10411.0, when I try to play a Netflix movie, it ask me to download Silverlight again. After doing so, it still does not play movie and asks for Silverlight download again.

I recently removed : downloadandSa from my desktop via ccleaner. I didnt think it didnt anything and it just looked suspicious.

Now however I notive that in the top left corner of firefox I have the F from my flashblock appearing.. when i hover over it it says its' http://downloadandsave-a.akamaihd.net/

Browsing a bit learned that akamaihd is a bunch of stuff that supports the internets workflow in videos/chats/forums etc.. is this correct?

Is this dowloadandsa a part of firefox? How do i get it back if i need it?

I am running Firefox 15.0.1 on Windows 7 64-bit I have Java plugin version SE7 U7, which I reinstalled and confirmed is current. However, when the Java plugin (Java(TM) Platform SE 7 U7 10.7.2.11) is disabled, then I get message when checking my plugins, "For your safety, Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Java. Please upgrade to the latest version". When I re-enable this plugin, the error message is not present. Thus it is misleading as the correct version is installed but disabled.

I have removed it from the control panel/programs/uninstall. It does not appear on Firefox-tools/add-ons/extensions or plugins. Yet anytime I click on 'new-tab' it is the default search engine. I also removed a cookie named babylon. Still apears.

I want to save all of my Bookmarks to a portable storage device.

From Mozilli I got some info., but there is still some confusion. To start:I am told to click the "Bookmarks" button on the right side of the navigation tool bar. There is no "Bookmarks" button on my tool bar.
I have FF 15.0.1 and Win XP Home SP 3.
Please advise.

This message recently started appearing when I select fullscreen in Facebook and Flickr. It is large and very annoying. It does not appear when I use Safari so I suspect it is generated by Firefox. How do I turn this "feature" off? I am currently using Firefox 15.01

I use to be able to download vevo video's from youtube. I would see the download helper give me the details of how much time is left in the download. All of a sudden it just downloads 0% and when coverting to hard drive it gives me a error.

We are about to enable SSO in our environment. As a result, I need to modify the value for user_pref("network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris", "my domain");>>prefs.js.

I created a simple .bat file to make the necessary mod and add the line to pref.js. When I run the file it outputs the prefs.js to the same location, not the Mozilla AppData folder. We are a Win7 environment with folder redirection enabled. Therefore, our user's Mozilla AppData folder is located at \\my domain\dfs\XenDesktop\Profiles\username\AppData\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default (random default profile name). My question is what is the best course of action to add this pref. to all PC user's pref.js file? keep in mind the pref.js is located on the hidden network path I included above. I apologize if my question is not easy to understand.

When I transfer over my favorites from Internet Explorer, not all of the favorites transfer over. Is there a limit on the number that can be moved over to Firefox? I see all my favorites in the My Favorites file, and on favorites when I open IE, but only half of them transfer over. Is there a cause for this? It is the same on both my machines using Vista and 7. when-ever i try to use the Google search at the home page, NOT the tool-bar or address but the one which is at the center of the window.

the actual Google search. the page get hijacked and i am redirected to yahoo results.

tried using malwarebytes and it came up with nothing.

how do i get normal Google results ?

I have a lot of duplicate bookmarks in Firefox and the number keeps on adding on. There are few answers regarding this on Support pages but none of them work. Neither the add-ons mentioned there(sad such trivial and basic things need add-ons) .

As there's no good way to sync Chrome and Firefox bookmarks I often end up manually importing in either browser from the other and after that I end up having tones of duplicates. I can deal with this in Chrome but have not figured out how to do this in Firefox. I think Sync ought to handle this.

Anyway, any quick solution regarding this? Preferably without an add-on (sigh!! one more thing to slow down the browser).
