Got a problem on two separate computers: Mozilla Crash Reporter keeps popping up when Firefox is not even running. I'm guessing that my antivirus avast is interfering with the update service. I'm I right or wrong? Otherwise, does anyone know how to interpret this? This is the report:

Popups for Smithsonian magazine keep appearing, sometimes 2 at a time, despite having popups blocked. I need them to stop. They are annoying and cover up content of web pages.

I can sign into YouTube ok, and the pictures of the video's are ok, but whatever I try to watch I get a green screen and just the video sound? It started happening yesterday. I am getting fed up with YouTube and the issues it has with Firefox. I'm having to use Microsoft Edge to watch videos. I've done the 3 resets it says on the support page, but still have the issue. I have been using Simple Tab Groups (STG) for a long time now. I am curious if putting tabs into groups saves any resources, i.e. is only the open group using resources (CUP/RAM), or is STG purely organizational in that all the tabs still use the same amount of resources as if they weren't grouped? If it is the latter, do you know of an add-on that would save resources? Thanks

After FireFox 80, the shortcut key of "Copy Link" and "Copy Email Address" was changed to L from A. This is really inconvenient for most right-hand users..

Anyone know how to change the L to A natively? I prefer the same way as a>, or post an add-on like c> but to change existing L to A, not add an extra link.

As Firefox was acting up I was going to uninstall and reinstall. It was suggested that I "refresh" it instead. Following that "refresh" my tabs bar is missing. How do I get it back? Also now the address bar is below the bookmarks bar. I can live with that but I need the tabs bar. FFOX 120.0.1 on Windows 11

I've set custom fonts through Settings > Fonts > Advanced, but the fonts I have specified are not being used on any websites even if I uncheck the box that says "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of your selections above". For example, I've set the default sans serif to Source Sans 3, but websites use Arial regardless of the settings. The only custom font I've gotten to work is Segoe UI (the UI font on Windows); all other just fall back to Arial. The problem persists even if I disable all extensions/add-ons. I'm also experiencing the problem for non-Latin scripts; I've tried to set the default Bengali font to Noto Sans Bengali, but websites are using Vrinda instead.

I am trying to zoom in and out on a webpage JUST the elements. I DO NOT want the text to zoom in or out when I do this. I was able to do this within the last couple of days here, but cannot remember How I did so..

The puzzle piece icon is not on the toolbar. Neither is it shown in the customize toolbar dialog. I have reset the toolbar to default, rebooted Windows 11 and removed & reinstalled Firefox 120.0.1 (64 bit). Those did not work. How can I restore the puzzle piece icon to the toolbar?

The topic says it all. How do I prevent Firefox from shifting my typing from the search field to the address bar?

I try to type a search into the field on my homepage but the cursor gets shunted up to the address bar and I can't find a setting turn it off. I would prefer my typing to stay where I place the cursor with a click rather than being shunted off somewhere else on the screen.

I frequently use GroupMe on desktop from Firefox, on two separate computers (a self-built desktop, and a Dell Latitude laptop).

Starting sometime over a week ago, I have been unable to drag & drop or otherwise upload photos in my chats. The only method that works is pasting direct URLs of JPGs.

In all other circumstances, I get the uploaded image error attached to this post.

Two different GroupMe support agents have said that, since image upload is still working in Edge, that it's a Firefox problem.

Tried clearing cache, site cookies, reset the browser, ran in troubleshooting mode...same result every time.

This is not the "image file size too big" error. I used to routinely post captures from the Snipping Tool, and I can't anymore.

I'm not sure where else to go to troubleshoot this. It's very annoying. Any suggestions?

As I said in the Subject I just bought Total AV this month, now its disabled on Firefox. Is this a permanent action? or is this a temporary action? How can/will I get my Antivirus back in action on Firefox?

I have been having with YouTube for a couple of days. It asks to turn off ad blockers. I have done so and it still requests to turn ad blockers and still won't allow viewing. YouTube works on other browsers.

I am sure YouTube is playing games but can you help?

I don't want to always be asked where I want to save files. I'm okay for all future files to be saved in my Downloads folder. I go to settings and remove the Check mark for "Always ask where to save files". But this setting does not survive a Firefox restart/exit. Why not?

How can I get firefox to preserve my preferred setting?

Whenever I open Firefox, it opens every tab from my previous session. I don't want this - if I closed the window, it was because I wanted it closed, and I don't need any automated system to re-open everything on the off chance I was wrong. I believe the setting for this is on the General tab, but as you can see in the attached screenshot, it's definitely off, yet the feature won't go away. I also tried changing the config settings, as listed here:

How do I stop Firefox opening these tabs without permission?

PC off for 8 months. Trying to log into Yahoo mail, FF causing a looping situation. Enter user name, password, go to IPhone to verify but instead of then going to mail it loops back to user name. Tried MS Edge and it logged in successfully. Deleted cookies, history etc. No matter how many times I enter user name, password and go to phone to verify it just loops back to login at user name.
