I have firefox 78.0.1 64b on windows 10 installed I have teams of MS installed if you go the website of teams called by meeting invite - there is a possibility to start the teams standalone application. when requesting this in FF, it does not start teams - on the page is also indicated that FF is not supported for teams. if I do this in edge (I never use edge - just for test) this opens the appl is there a setting that would prevent this ? can we configure this to allow starting an appl ? thanks for all update/help best regards, Guy

Since updating to 78.0 I cannot download pdf files from magazinelib.com. I can do so on Microsoft Edge and on Android, but not Firefox. I get the save/open/etc. popup; no matter which I click the file simply cycles and never downloads. Other sites seem unaffected. I added the language/spell check to my work email (outlook.office). I follow the same procedure in my hotmail (outlook.live) and although I added them, it is not an option when I type a message. I use Firefox as a browser and cleaned the cache. Elizabeth

I use 3 profiles (work, private and media) side by side. When I open external links I have no control over which profile will open the link. The link is opened right away (so no profile manager interference) in a random profile. I do want it to open right away, but ideally would like to easily set a priority order for profiles to open the external links without having to restart the profiles.

For years, I've clicked on PDFs online and they've opened in a browser window. Then, if I wanted a copy, I downloaded it. Suddenly, this doesn't happen. It doesn't open, it just goes straight to download. I've changed no settings. Other browsers open the PDFs in question. What happened and how do I fix it. I'm running Firefox 78.0.2 (64-bit) on a 2017 iMac running 10.14.6. Thanks.

I use openbox as my windowmanager with NO desktop environment on Archlinux.

I want to hide the titlebar (border) but when using openbox this option is NOT SHOWN. It is shown when i use another Desktop Environment like xfce4 or Gnome.

In the past i found out that a variable like DESKTOP_ENVIRONMENT, DE or XDG_SESSION_DESKTOP could be set with the value of another Desktop Environment to mislead Firefox.

However, i can't find the right variable any more and i have been googling and googling for days :-(

Whenever I have to scan a qr code, It turns into whatever that is in the image attached. Same thing happens sometimes when I try uploading images on certain websites. It works fine on other browsers. It also happens while using Firefox safe mode. Sorry for not being detailed enough.

Earlier it was removed using style in userChrome.css file - " #PopupAutoCompleteRichResult richlistitem:first-of-type[actiontype="visiturl"] ", after update to 78.3 esr version this isn't working. I tried with deleted /home/.mozila folder (new profile) and with menu home ->top sites and search suggestions switched off (and also with and without userChrome.css file) so this is isn't the case. Does not matter what it is word file, picture, program. The download starts, Firefox goes gray and crashes.....

I just got a new computer and i thought this problem would go away, but it is still present. It is becoming EXTREMELY frustrating. I love Firefox and have used it for a long time but this issue is making it very difficult.

I want to transfer the profile from an old PC running Windows 7 to a new PC running Windows 10. I've copied the old profile to a USB stick. After much searching I've found the profile created by the new installation, but it seems to appear in two folders: AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles, and AppData/Local/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles. Should I simply substitute the old profile for both instances of the new profile? NB This message is posted from a different platform (Mac) Thanks

Today my Firefox's update to 78 bugged and forced me to reinstall it. After completing the new installation, I was asked to connect on my Firefox's account. Unfortunatly, I couldn't remember at all my password which I didn't type for years and was forced to reinitialize it, leading to a total erase of my account's datas : saved password, markbooks etc.

I would like to know if, in the case the erased datas are temporary saved (for emergencies maybe), if it would be possible to restore my old ones or download and import them, as I terribly need them.

I'm looking forward a happy ending, hopefully.

As of the latest version of Firefox (v78.0.2 x64), all new tabs open at the end of the list of current tabs. If I only had a few tabs open, that MIGHT be okay, but since I keep many open, it's incredibly annoying. All I want is to open a new tab and have it appear to the right of the current tab. So far...

• I've tried setting "browser.tabs.insertAfterCurrent" to true, with no effect.
• I've tried the add-on "Always Right", with no effect.

Since I've noticed this behavior in many previous versions of FF, I doubt that uninstall/reinstall will address the problem, so I didn't try.

Any ideas?

There is a website that I used today and discovered that it does not display correctly on Firefox although it displays correctly on Edge and Chrome.

I have attached screenshots of the webpage on all 3 browsers and you can see that the there are 2 ticks missing from the Firefox screen where the text says Available in-store at Karingal and at Pick up Avaliable.

I tried running Firefox in Safe Mode but it still did not show this screen correctly.

I am running Firefox for Desktop version 78.0.2 (64-bit).

Any suggestions on what is causing this and a solution would be helpful.

HELP!!! The thousands of pdf files on my computer and two external hard drives are now Firefox html files. I did NOT do anything do cause this problem. Also, when I try to save MS Word files as pdf files, they are saved as Firefox html files. Yes, I've double-checked the options setting and it says pdf files. HOW CAN I FIX THIS???

A lot of folks are having issues with the new URL bar.

My biggest issue with the new URL is the way that URL bar text turns light blue rather than to normal way that selected text is shown, in negative (white on blue), because I often want to select part of the URL and the light blue makes it difficult to see what I have selected. I am 55 and my eyesight is not what it used to be.

But this css does not seem to work for me.

I have not touched the Firefox theme, so I guess I am using the default theme, but I have added the multi-row tabs css from MrOtherGuy https://github.com/MrOtherGuy/firefox-csshacks/tree/master/chrome/multi-row_tabs.css but the multi-row tab css does not seem to mention "toolbar" so I can't see that they would get in each other's way.

I would also like to turn off the automatic selection of the whole url but that may not be possible.

I can't get spellcheck to work. I'm using Firefox on a Mac. This is true even when using a box with multiple lines.

I have ticked the box in preferences that says Check your spelling as you type. I have a language chosen - English (United Kingdom). I tried installing a different dictionary in Add-ons, but it made no difference.

I've gone into about:config and adjusted the settings in layout.spellcheckDefault and checked services.sync.prefs.sync.layout.spellcheckDefault, which made no difference.

I've read posts that say to right click and look at the dictionaries, but this doesn't work for me (could be because I'm using a Mac). Same with pressing Control.

Any thoughts?

I've checked and disabled add-ons to see if these were blocking somehow, but no result. It worked fine before, so my suspicion is something changed in FF78? Thanks!
