Why does firefox install on the desktop? Why isn't there a choice of where it is installed?

I'd like to move the Firefox program files to a secondary hard drive without losing bookmarks, settings, etc. Please advise the best way to go about this. Win 11, Thank you.
The reason for this, if relevant, is that my C dirve is filling up and if I can move some of the files off it, it would be easier than replacing the drive.
