I am prevented from downloading an important document because the site says that I need to disable an ad blocker. I am not aware of having an ad blocker and nothing shows up in add-ons and extensions. How do I find and disable an ad blocker that I cannot find?

I have added a two factor authorization and when I sign it it asks me to check my app and enter code. I have no clue as how to do this. I have googled it and it says download google authenticator app and that doesn't work so how in the world do I get the code to enter it . I had to disable two factor because your systems makes no sense, usually you send the code to a phone number not an app that doesn't exist.

I've been noticing for the last month that after a few hours in a browser window, I'll suddenly have a pinned tab for some random website. Some for promotional things, others in languages I don't understand, etc. At first I downloaded a webpage blocker, blocked the ones that were pinned, and deleted the tabs. However, after a short while (an hour or two) they would appear again in pinned tabs only this time it would say website blocked.

I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox in hopes that would solve the issue, but it is still happening. I unpin the tabs and delete them immediately after I notice them, but they keep appearing. I really like using Firefox and use it often for work, but I'm concerned for my personal and work security. What should I do?

I am told to disable pop-up blockers in order to have a payment verified. I do not know what pop-up blockers are, I do not know where they are. When I go to Settings and search for pop-up blockers, I am told "Sorry! There are no results in Settings for "pop-up blockers"; and instructed to visit Firefox Support. I have been sent on this circular quest three times now. Please help me.

Later version refuses to connect to my modem, and goes into security web mode. This modem uses HTTP/HTTPS for access, i.e., connects directly it's IP address, then the user enters a username and password. At that point, the the modem switches to HTTPS for control.

With this recent update, there is NO WAY to access the modem for any work, or upgrade the HTTPS certificate on the modem. This is a BUG.

What should happen is that if the web site will accept a HTTP connection, Firefox should NOT refuse connection or test for security issues UNTIL the user or the device switches to HTTPS.

As an aside, I've used Firefox on this Zywall modem for years until recently.

When I go thru Google Chrome, I can communicate successfully with JetBlue with no error issues. I tried using your self-help screens, but find them of no benefit in resolving my problem. More than four years ago I created a mozzilla account on my work laptop, in hope of easier migration, syncing between devices, and similar promises. I signed into the account, and have been happily using Firefox ever since, with that 1 time login, thanks for that.

Recently I got a new work laptop and I wanted to use syncing, but I unfortunately had to realise that I do not remember the password I gave 4 years ago (since I was never once prompted to provide it again). So I tried to reset my password. Up until this point I was never warned, that one e-mail account provided would not be enough for password resets.

I tried providing a secondary e-mail address, but that doesn't give me a password reset option. I also tried activating 2fa according to the tutorial, with two different apps (authy and google authenticator) but the browser always says invalid key, so I failed activating 2fa. I tried password reset, but it says I will lose all the data, I would like to sync, so that is not a reasonable option... I tried to manually migrate my profile over to the new laptop, by replacing "Profiles" folder contents on the new laptop, but that just makes Firefox unable to start even.

So I am at my wits end, and begging for help. Looked at reddit posts on how to get browse data to new pc and official support faq-s but I do not see a solution.

I am still signed in, on the old work laptop, that is where I'm writing this plea for help from.

I would really love to recover my account and sync it to the new device.

After typing it out I realize how "social engineeringy/hacky" this message sounds. But I'm willing to prove my identity, by any means necessary, and the account mail address is my name (that is also on my national id card).

Please help me, or advise me how to proceed and reset my password without losing all my data.

yours truly Ferenc Patai

I forgot my primary password, and then remembered it (I think correctly). But now when I enter it it isn't accepted. The primary password screen is now appearing everywhere, not just on sites needing passwords, and now I'm getting notification of my firefox account being blocked (although when I entered the password I seemed to get in ok). I'm in the process of moving house (probably the stress caused my password amnesia!), and can't cope with not being able to get stored passwords. I understand all will be deleted if I cancel the primary password. Is there no way round this? I know it's my fault but please can you help? Diane Jones

Frustrating experience trying to use Twilio Authy. Whenever I first installed it on my iPhone I was using Password1 and that is the only record it shows, with no obvious way to delete that entry now that I have dumped Password1 in favor of Bitwarden. Plus when trying to install on Linux Mint desktop it first wanted me to use Snap package but Mint uses Flatpak. Got it installed using default software manager in Mint, then when I wanted to authenticate it sent code to phone, but phone said already registered so no way to authenticate desktop version. Forget it ... I use my Yubikey for all my other 2FA and it works slicker-n-snot this Twilio thing is too much hassle comparatively. When Mozilla adds some other 2FA choices THEN I can use 2FA with FF, not this app. Ugh.

Hi,

I live in the US, and don't use a VPN. I noticed my firefox is defaulting to sending DNS over HTTPS requests to the default Canadian DNS over HTTPS, rather than the US provider. How can I change my firefox settings to not think I'm Canadian?

Thanks.
