I have clear search history when browser is closed checked, and it still has a months worth of history and I have closed and reopened the browser countless times, why doesn't the history clear?

After a re-start, my Firefox browser on a Dell laptop lost all history and has since also not been collecting websites visited. When opening a new tab, the shortcuts and recently visited websites are also gone and no longer being collected. My CCleaner recently updated itself to a new version but I unchecked the delete history for Firefox (which treacherously is clicked by default - I fell into that trap before). Happy to blame the new CCleaner but that would not explain why history is not being collected now - to me the fault seems to lie with Firefox instead. Another possibility that went through my mind: Is Microsoft sabotaging users of Windows 11 to force them to buy new? PS: Under "Privacy", "History", the setting is "Firefox will remember history", as it always has been and should be. But it has forgotten all previous history and it is no longer collecting any new history either!

My firefox is not recalling the history as I move through tabs. It doesn't appear in the sidebar or in the documented history. This only has happened recently, and it's still recognizing my bookmarks. I've done some troubleshooting, tried relaunching in the mode while switching through tabs, but it's still not recalling. Any help is appreciated.

Since last update (early mid Dec) browser history is not been deleted properly on clicking delete history. Recently opened tabs remain in history even after 3 to 5 requests to delete. The problem is the same on opening private purple tabs. Transfers history to normal tab history. Phone Samsung S21 Regards Rich

Ive had Firefox for many years, and am pretty ok versed in it's options and tools. Since a couple weeks my history is completely gone. It also won't record anything new. Im not in safe mode, not incognito mode, all the settings appear correct, yet still, won't record anything. Please help

Despite following the instructions ,I am unable to clear my browsing history. Every time I click on to "clear history," nothing happens. I am afraid to re-install the browser because my wife also has an account on the same PC and I do not want to delete here bookmarks etc.

I noticed that in the last few months (maybe longer) the windows which were open before Firefox was shut down no longer open up in the same order after Firefox is restarted and 'History > Restore previous session' is selected (I want me to decide whether windows and tabs are re-opened after a Firefox restart, so I don't know if the same problem happens when the setting "Open previous windows and tabs" is selected).

This has been a problem a long(er) time ago, then it worked fine again, and now it happens again.

This might not seam like a big problem but I open new Firefox windows for each 'topic' I want to browse plus the first couple of windows are 'dedicated' to specific things.

But when the windows are 'out of the correct order' I can't just find things the (for me) usual place or windows opened for specific topics- and that is quite annoying. That is the background for this post.

I'm using Windows 11 version 25H2, and my Firefox is up to date (147.0.2)

I hope there are some Mozilla employees working with Firefox in this community (as they have the most 'inside knowledge', but I would of course very much also hear about experiences and ideas regarding this from other Firefox users :-)

From time to time I can’t clear my Firefox history. I try from the menu, then within the settings, to no avail. I restarted Firebox and even my Mac, and the history remains. I used CleanMyMac to empty the cache and the history is still there.

My Firefox: 147.0.2 (64-bit) My Mac: Sonoma 14.8.3 (23J220)

I need to permanently save my browsing history, but I haven't found such a function in Firefox. Firefox regularly deletes my browsing history, which I really dislike. I need it to accurately and precisely save my browsing history without any omissions. I need a solution to this problem.

my delete history has not been working since yesterday. I have not changed anything to my knowledge in settings so please help in correcting this. I have looked at settings and not sure if something changed or ?

I have looked on the web and continue to find all sorts of references on how to configure your browser to open the tabs I had open last time I closed the browser. I have the "Open previous windows and tabs" checked in the General settings....and it doesn't work! How is that? Any special thing I need to do to get it to work?

I've used firefox for quite awhile, recently, incognito mode stopped deleting the sites visited while it's in use. It appears that none of the settings have changed. I'm told there is a box to check if you want your history while in the mode to be erased. I do not remember ever having this before and it seems counter intuitive.

Usually both of my previously closed windows reopen without issue, but the data for both of them disappeared this time when I clicked on a zoom link after closing them. The link opened, but they didn't. I did the basic troubleshooting like checking my entire history (under "managed history") and looking in settings as well as following the instructions I found here at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1407584, but everything's gone. It's like they never existed in the first place. Has anyone else had this issue?

Also, about a couple of months ago, Firefox started forgetting my accounts and logging me out of them once I closed the window/the tabs reloaded. Not sure if this is due to my computer's own storage (RAM) or an update-related issue - I haven't been able to figure it out yet.

Any insight on either or both of these is greatly appreciated!
