Firefox Version: 40.0.2 labeled up to date; OS: Windows 7/64 bit (Home Premium); Banking site fails to connect to a secure site with a message "Secure Connection Required"; Another site that uses simple htaccess to require password fails with "Authorization Required" message; Both of these sites open properly with Google Chrome;

I have been through the configuration options, and nothing seems to make any difference. Is there something that has changed in this new version that needs to be configured to make this work? I had not problems with this last week, presumably before and automatic 'upgrade'. Thanks, Steve

Hi I have a client who has firefox installed on a windows 7 machine and it is getting blocked from attempting to access many reputable websites such as google mail etc. I have tried every potential fix there is and cannot get rid of this error from occuring. I reinstalled firefox, deleted the cert file, cleared the cache/history. I still get blocked when manually typing in websites with https in the address

For some reason I am not offered the "i understand the risk option" to bypass the error. All I see is the "Get me out of here" option

Let me know if there are any other potential fixes.

Windows 10 O/S on x64 Sony Viao laptop. Full AVG Anti-virus. The latest version of Firefox will not let me access any search engine, ALL (even Google) are untrusted. Clicking onto a secure htpps tab also gives the same message and will not let me make an exception. I have been a regular user of Firefox and, until this, it has been my preferred browser. Advice please.

When I search for something on Google using the search bar it says Untrusted Connection, and it doesn't let me "Understand the Risks" and go through. I'm able to get to Google.com but when I search for something it comes up glitched looking (Shows the old Google Logo, etc.) it doesn't let me use the features such as Images, News, Search tools. It automatically goes to Untrusted connection.

Also when I go to Google.com it says Not Secure Connection.

Just downloaded firefox for mac and get their own server as a security warning.....not very promising.

If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

Here's the back story in case it helps... I upgraded windows 7 to windows 10, had many performance issues with windows 10 and reinstalled windows 7. After the reinstall, I tried to download mozilla firefox again and install the browser. When I try to run the setup file for firefox I get a message that reads: "This publisher has been blocked from running software on your machine." The only option is to click "OK". There is no way to ignore the security warning and proceed with the install. I have had no trouble installing any other software (IE and Chrome included). I have tried starting windows in safe mode, but I still get the same warning. I do have administrator privileges while running the setup. I have found other forums addressing similar issues, but have not found a solution for my specific case yet. I have attached a screen capture of the security warning window so you can see there is no way to proceed. If I click the windows help link, it goes nowhere.

when tying to log into my att email account, I get a message that the certificate for yahoo.com is not trusted and that the site uses HSTS and Firefox won't allow an exception. This started immediately after installing Kaspersky Internet Security 2016. I'm using another machine to access my email account.

Hello, I have a problem with certificate of this web page : http://www.sps-jia.cz/moodle/ When I tried to log in, it said that "connection is untrusted", but that is normal and i know it is secure. However, I'm incredibly dumb and accidentally have clicked on the button that added it as an untrusted connection. So immediately, I've started searching trough the Firefox setting, but I've discovered nothing that could help me. So I googled my problem, and most of the said that renaming/moving the cert8.db fire from the profile folder would help, but it didn't. The weirdest thing is that I can't access the website on other browsers (IE/Edge). I thing that it's somewhere in Windows. Plx halp Thanks

Yesterday I installed FF 43.0 - 64bit. I did as clean install as I could, uninstalled old version, and deleted from HDD every "mozilla" and "firefox" directory I could find. Since then, I am unable to access next sites (I believe list is not complete): https://www.google.com/ https://www.facebook.com/ https://www.google.com/maps https://www.google.rs/?gws_rd=ssl

Sites that I can normaly access with this FF are: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/ https://translate.google.com/ https://mail.google.com/

All other browsers can access all sites without problems.

I followed the instructions in "This Connection is Untrusted" error message appears - What to do and deleted cert8.db. I restarted Firefox but the problem persisted

Since the beginning of the year none of the sites I visit that require a certificate work. If I back date my system to say 12/23/2015 they work fine. I don't seem to have this issue with Internet Explorer. I'm not sure if this is a date issue or and issue with version 43.0.3 which I installed on 1/2/ 2016. Help!

I work on Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Ultimate Edition. All the links and the solutions on your web page is for windows 8.1! But there is no family security pack in windows 7.

I uninstalled all security programs. I deleted cert.db file. I reinstalled firefox but it didn't help. When I change my date back to 2015, it works but this is make no sense!

I hope you have a solution for that. What can I do?

Hi, I keep getting this untrusted connection message. I have tried posted solutions for the "this connection is untrusted" problem Firefox seems to be having. It occurs on any website I try to go into. I have tried changing date and time, running Norton antivirus scans (I have Norton 360 premier installed), change information using about:config setting, uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and deleted "cert8.db" file, but nothing seems to work.

I tried adding images but can't attach them for some unknown reason. I am using internet explorer to send this message since Firefox not working. The error code I keep getting on every website, even on Firefox support websites are (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer) (Error code: sec_error_cert_signature_algorithm_disabled)

What do I do next?

So I've upgraded pfsense (which has my own self-signed cert for the GUI) to 2.3. For some reason, this has broken management for it via Firefox. It still works with Chrome.

Here is the error- The connection to 192.168.50.1:449 was interrupted while the page was loading.

What I have done to try to rectify this.... 1) Checked that both time of pfsense and my computer match (they do and Chrome works right with this anyway.) 2) Manually imported both the CA and cert. 3) Deleted cert8.db and let FF recreate it. 4) Tried a new profile (which works once and then fails as soon as FF is restarted.) 5) Tried on both Windows and Linux (neither side works.) 6) Generated a new cert for the GUI (which Chrome again just accepts but FF refuses.)

FF version is 45.0.1

I haven't seen anything else that addresses this. The key did not change in the upgrade. Even had it done that, I would think that by generating a new cert entirely should prompt for making a permanent exception again.

I've narrowed it down to FF as both Chrome and Vivaldi work perfectly on it. Nothing seems to have helped and the FF landing page doesn't reveal any useful info (as in SEC_ERROR_INSECURE_CIPHER or the like.)

Any help is very much appreciated as I hate opening Chrome solely to manage my firewall.

I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue that seems to be specific to FireFox and a specific website.

If you browse to www.denali.gov with FireFox, and then on the right side of the page click on "Denali Commission Project Database", FireFox will first pop up a message that says: "Your connection is not secure"

Then if you click on Advanced and click the "(Not secure) Try loading www.denali.gov using outdated security" that page will fail to load with the following error message:

"An error occurred during a connection to www.denali.gov. The server rejected the handshake because the client downgraded to a lower TLS version than the server supports. Error code: SSL_ERROR_INAPPROPRIATE_FALLBACK_ALERT"

Before anyone says "have you tried searching our forums or Google?", I've been researching this issue for the past hour and have not been able to come up with a solution. I checked the TSL settings on the "about:config" page and changed the version.min settings, but that does not fix the problem.

I have not been able to come up with anything, and so I turn to you guys... :-)

Has anyone seen this issue before and has a fix? The error is easily reproducible: Browse to the page using FireFox and I'm sure you'll see the same error.

However, the page loads fine in other browsers. Except, I don't want to use other browsers; I want to use FireFox.

I have W7; DSL with Century Link who tried to fix it but couldn't. I can't seem to find the answer. I tried typing in about:config but got the Secure Connection Failed message. Grrrr! Help!

Hello! I have run into an issue, for some reason Firefox is seeing Twitch.tv a common and popular Streaming website as a Mixed Content site and Not trusting it as a secure connection therefor not allowing me to proceed and view the site. I was curious is there a way for me to access Twitch and other sites that may have the same issue? Sites such as Youtube work completely fine, I have included a print screen of the issue.

I foolishly responded to a prompt on my screen suggesting there was a problem with Firefox. I clicked Refresh Firefox and seemed to be on a genuine page. After that I had lost my add-ons, like Ghostery. All attempts to access it failed as I either got an 'Untrusted Connection' message or simply a list of words from the website (in blue). Even the page for add-ons from the Firefox menu does not work. Then I discovered that other pages like Yahoo, gmail, and Wunderground gave the same problem. Firefox has become unusable. I uninstalled it and renewed it, to no avail.

Firefox does not allow me to open this site: https://www.mysubs.co.za/ . It gives the following error code :SEC_ERROR_OCSP_INVALID_SIGNING_CERT.

This is the site that I read my local newspaper on daily.

It is opening fine on other browsers like Chrome
