Please do not change firefox browser startup - which then includes Bing , duck duck , google , DOH ? , wikipedia etc - this stuff slows everything down and tries to shape or control everything. I have to clean and restart every time - I do like private browsing and startup search but does startup search invoke google ? To restart i have to close all windows etc etc etc

Hello, with the newest updates, when I type something in the urlbar for Google Search it shows historical entries instead of Google suggestions. Even though browser.urlbar.maxHistoricalSearchSuggestions is set to 0 and history searches are off in the settings etc. Can you show me a way to restore the search? See attachment for better understanding. (at least I hope)

Clearing cache doesnt help, because it also deletes form entries and doesnt prevent Firefox from storing my historical searches.

Thank you kind regards

I have a Palo Alto split tunnel VPN connection (using MacOS GlobalProtect application) and everytime I need to connect to the VPN I have to fully restart Firefox, by right clicking on the dock icon and choosing `Quit`.

If I don't do that all internal pages behave as if the VPN wasn't connected, either hanging until timing out or presenting me with an unauthorized page.

After a full restart, all pages open normally, using the VPN connection. This behaviour is not present in Chrome, which catches the VPN connection, throws an `ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED`, and, after refreshing the page, starts using the VPN connection normally.

I tried switching to offline mode back and forth, changing proxy settings back and forth, clearing DNS cache, none of which works for me, but a full restart.

I wonder if there is any workaround other than the full browser restart or if this is indeed a known bug that needs to be fixed.

A small issue but an annoying one:

I have my options set not to save logins or ask to fill passwords, and have no such data saved in Firefox. I use LastPass for all of this, and its Firefox extension is working pretty well. The issue is that any time I right-click in a password field to get the LastPass options, there in the menu above them, the very first item, is Firefox's own "Fill password", which of course does nothing because I have saved nothing for it to use.

I used to click on this regularly by mistake. After long use I've finally developed the reflex to ignore it and go to the bottom of that list where the LastPass commands are, but it should not be appearing at all. First, because I've already set the options to say I do not want to use the password manager, and second, because there is another password manager in place, and Firefox should only ever use one at a time to prevent conflicts.

If there's anything I can do to fix this, I'd love to know about it, but I suspect it has to be a change request, and I can't find out from this site how to submit those. Please advise.

I have been using Mozilla Thunderbird and Firefox for many years. Currently am using Firefox version 82.0.2 on a Windows 10 laptop. My email addresses are located in my Thunderbird account (version 98.4.1). These new versions are the outcome of recent upgrades to my Mozilla installation.

Now I find that email addresses are no longer available when I email a Web link to another party. My routine has been to use the File>Email link in Firefox, then to choose the recipient from the Address Book>Collected Addresses display.

Could some charitable subscriber to this forum please tell me how to restore the missing address list to Firefox?

Thank you

Problems with t-online e-mail account

A friend of mine has problems with Firefox (82.0.3) with his e-mail login at t-online. He accesses his e-mail account via the start page "www.t-online.de", the login mask with the saved user name appears, then "NEXT" and then the error message: "Login not possible", no password is asked. In Firefox, the correct user name and password are entered under "Access data and passwords", We accessed the email account via "Edge", same login data, that worked. How can I fix the login procedure in "Firefox"?

Thanks in advance W. Drewes

I used to sign in to GMAIL with no problems - email, password, done. Now I am always told that "This device is not recognized" and that Google wants to verify that it's me. So I type in the recovery email address, and I'm in. This started within the past week or two. I'm at a loss to figure out what changed, and I'd like to avoid having to type in the extra email address. This does not happen when I use the EDGE browser, only when I use Firefox, which is why I'm directing my question to Mozilla support. I tried playing around with the settings on Google, but the problem persists. Any suggestions?

This exact same problem as question : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1286412

I was changing my banking password and Firefox offered to generate the password which I clicked on. The password was changed successfully but I was NOT asked if I want to save it or not. It seems the password change was done through an AJAX call which firefox didn't handle.

My question is: How do I get that password back?
