I can't get into my Outlook email any more through firefox! all my medical stuff, and basically my whole online life is inaccessible. I am facing a serious medical crisis, which is negatively affecting my mental health, as well. all my test results are there, just beyond my reach and I truly need the most stress-free online environment and that is Firefox. Can somebody help me get my life back, please? Running windows 11, most current update on a HP pavilion w/ intel core i5. Sadly I can't afford a new (or even a used) computer. I need online connectivity and SAFETY to navigate this nightmare. A million thank yous for any assistance you can provide.

suspend any 3rd party addon, but not sure the way to nail down the issue.

Recently, every time I click anything, even to open my email messages, new junk tabs open in my browser and it automatically takes me there. It takes forever to do anything. Firefox blocks POST request to a remote server with self-signed certificate and IP in address - MOZILLA_PKIX_ERROR_SELF_SIGNED_CERT

Hello, a locally hosted application has a web interface which tries to send a data (POST request) to a remote resource (which is under my control) yet the web browser (Firefox ESR 128.9.0esr) blocks this resource request saying in a developer console (F12) this:

  • NS_ERROR_GENERATE_FAILURE(NS_ERROR_MODULE_SECURITY, MOZILLA_PKIX_ERROR_SELF_SIGNED_CERT)
  • Cross-Origin Request Blocked: The Same Origin Policy disallows reading the remote resource at https://myRemoteServerIP/request.php. (Reason: CORS request did not succeed). Status code: (null).

I suspect that the CORS blocking is a result of the first (SSL) error, AI also told me that I can configure my remote server/resource (e.g., using Apache, Nginx, or PHP) to include the necessary CORS headers in its responses and indeed the remote server of mine has such lines inside a PHP script that is receiving the request: header('Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *'); header('Access-Control-Allow-Methods: POST'); header('Access-Control-Allow-Headers: *');

The remote resource (server) is using self-signed SSL certificate and it is referenced using IP instead of a domain name.

When I try to do the same request via Private browsing window (without extensions), there is no NS_ERROR about self-signed cert. but only CORS one. When I try browser Librewolf 137.0.2-1 (my FF version is older: 128.9.0), the request is NOT blocked, is OK..

My main aim is not to avoid blocking in my browser, but in all main browsers for everyone.

Is it so that this kind of blocking is default behavior in browsers? Is there please any way to avoid that, beside getting a domain name and CA signed SSL certificate?

You state that Firefox has no back door which allows you or anyone else to track browser user history or browsing information. But is that really true?

First of all, when a user searches using your browser, the search is conducted through Google. Unless one clicks on the button offered by Google to reject normal choices, and specifically opts out of user data sharing with their company, every trace of the user's search will be mined by Google. You should install an override which automatically precludes this step when searching on your browser, and ensure that there is no such sharing or mining.

Second even your company has admitted that you HAVE opened a back door for the NSA and other government agencies to track user information online. That means your browser is no different than any other one; for anyone who knows how to access and redirect this data can continue to do so, just as they would with any other browser.

While I applaud your effort to minimize data sharing on your browser, your publicity appears to be somewhat of a myth, for it bears little relation to reality .

The Firefox 2FA setup guide lists Google Authenticator, Authy, FreeOTP, and a few others.

Can I use Protectimus OTP for Firefox 2FA, instead of Google Authenticator or Authy, or the others listed in the 2FA guidance? I already have some other accounts set up with Protectimus and would prefer to stick with one 2FA authenticator app.

Thanks.

I literally just created a Primary Password for my account. It worked fine a few times and now it is not working. It says it is incorrect.I saved it in my notes with all of my other passwords before creating it, and even copying and pasting it does not work. I don't understand how it worked 5 minutes ago and now it does not. I don't want to reset it and lose all my saved passwords.

Hello, I had to reset my password, but couldn't find my recovery key at the moment. I thought I would keep at least some of my informations, but I lost everything, from bookmarks to passwords.

Of course, afterward, I did stumble upon the said memory key. I didn't create a new one, how could I reuse my recovery key ? When I try to reset my password again, the option is no more there.

I had a computer crash - it happened when I was in the process of closing one Firefox window.

After a reload, I find that all saved passwords after 2018 have been deleted. Luckily I am one of these persons that ignores advice to regularly change a password and have managed to restore most of these from memory. However, that still leaves a gmail account and reddit that I cannot log into, nor have the passwords written down.

Nothing else has been affected. Bookmarks, recent history are all there. I was even able to do a Session Restore on the pages I had open. All that is missing is about four years of saved passwords. Even the predictive text that pops the user name into the prompt for a login has gone.

Is there any way that all the passwords that should be there can be restored? Are they sitting somewhere on the computer? I don't mind manually restoring them if need be but I would like to get into these accounts.
