Horizontal Firefox message on top of screen:

"Add [Website name] [(website url)] as an application for mailto links?" with an "Add Application" button on the right side.

What are mailto links? What is involved?

I tried researching this ("mailto") but still wasn't sure I understood it.

Windows 7, Firefox 60.0.2, Yahoo email. For the last few days, clicking on "Email link" while on a web page does result in a blank email opening in my Yahoo email program, but now there is no web page link in the body of the email.

Trying to setup email link for webmail client. Going to Firefox Options > Applications > Mailto, there are no action settings other than "use other" which looks for me to select application. Also read instructions to set windows default applications - again this is a webmail client. How do I add to Firefox email link

I already have Outlook open. when I click on an email address in firefox, a new email opens correctly in Outlook but now I have two instances of outlook running. i'm running office 365, windows 10, firefox 62.0.2. 64-bit

Whenever I click on an e-mail address inside Firefox, it always defaults to the generic mail client. I want it to default to Outlook. I have found the 'mailto' option in Options/Applications. When I select "Browse" and navigate to the directory containing outlook.exe, though, it does not see that executable and, so far as I can tell, does not allow me to paste that string into the window.

I'm Trying to set the mailto function with Gmail in the application otpions . I clearly understand the procedure here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-program-used-open-email-links, but when I try to make my choice I'm Missing the use Yahoo or use gmail options as it is in the article. what I have as option is just , always ask, default app and other, which open me to other possible applications . thanks A.
