Firefox won't stay downloaded to my computer. I am having to download it multiple times, especially if my computer has updates.

On a separate note, when it does actually stay on my computer over night, it never keeps me signed in to my Firefox account. I have to log in to it daily to have my bookmarks and passwords.

Also, it never remembers the theme I have picked for it. I would love some advice on how to fix this.

I've read through a ton of articles, and I can't seem to find a fix.

I use Evernote web clipper as an add-on to Firefox. When I try to save web pages in PDF format, I get an error message saying "Due to the restrictions set by the browser, you cannot clip this page." Is there a way to make it work? Thanks!

For some reason I cant get my touch keyboard to come up when I select a text box. it works fine on chrome and Edge but not Firefox. any idea how to get it working?

## Intro and context

Hello. I am a power user that works in software and web development. I have been using Firefox on and on for most my life, but full time as my main browser since late 2018. One thing I love Firefox for is its lightness on memory compared to that of Google Chrome, and also its open web standards, open source, privacy, ethical owners, and customizations. I have been using Windows 10 up until July 9th 2020 before I switched to my first main Linux desktop. I have always kept my eye on CPU and RAM usage, as high CPU drains battery and running out of RAM results in a system crash. I actively keep many tabs open (less than 100 but more than 60) I ensure that they are light. I mostly have GitHub tabs open, but I keep a few other things open as well, mostly Wikipedia/wiktionary and duckduckgo tabs, a pcloud (file service) tab, but sometimes a youtube tab or two (rarely a reddit tab)

## Issue

I have been noting that garbage collection is getting exponentially worse over time. When I got my laptop, I was able to keep 2-3 fully packed profiles open at all times, and never having to close Firefox until shutdown (after about 12-16 hours uptime) I rely heavily on Firefox profiles for organization. It has been getting exponentially worse. Starting in late 2020, I had to reduce the max number of open profiles to 2, and in 2021. In early January, I had to start closing the profiles once a day to free up 2-3+ GiB of RAM (swap doesn't change much, that is the garbage data that isn't being cleared, it normally ends up at 800 MiB to 1.7 GiB by the end of the day) and now (as of January 22nd 2021) I have to close Firefox 2-3 times a day to prevent my system from getting overloaded, as Firefox eats through 1-2 gigabytes of RAM per hour, even when idle. I have noticed several processes titled `web content` that use 200-600 MiB each (there is usually 2-7 of them) I am wondering what I can do for Firefox to prevent high RAM usage. I have lately suspected that GitHub may have gotten heavier, or is sending too much data via AJAX methods, but I am not entirely sure.

I am wondering what I should do about this. I work with hundreds of projects, so I can't close too many tabs, as it becomes hard to access and manage. I intend to close 16 tabs in the next month, as I am freeing up some projects.

"When a server requests your personal certificate" my preference is set to "Ask you every time" but Firefox is remembering the certificate I used last time for a site and does not allow me to select a different certificate. How can I change this please? My Firefox browser version is 84.0.2 (64 bit). Thanks

I have a problem with YouTube looking in Firefox. When I go to any channel, the header of the channel is not displayed at all, together with its content, i.e. the name of the channel, banner, links, etc. I checked the code by examining the element and I found something like that

Someone knows how to fix it, because what if it is a bit disturbing and irritating when you can't see it. You can see everything normally in Chrome. I have recently migrated back to Firefox from Chrome. I followed the instructions to import my bookmarks and forgot that I was logged into my work chrome account, so those bookmarks were imported. When I followed the same procedure using my personal google account, the procedure did not work. Is there a way to import bookmarks from multiple google accounts into Firefox? Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I want to find out how to stop incessant update notifications on a MacBook Pro. Respectfully, please no lectures about just going ahead and updating or how I should keep my browser updated. We all make personal choices about how we want to manage our technology. I googled this first and found so many other people asking the same question, but no firm solutions. As you know, in preferences I have the option to allow automatic updates or to first be asked before updating, but it's a Morgan's Fork. If you don't allow automatic updates - which is out of the question - then they are going to bug the pee out of you until you update. That makes me dig my heels in deeper. Either I find a way to turn off these annoying notifications or I am done with Firefox. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

When I go to https://www.sz-shop.de/ostern, FF tells me that there is a risk

That is what I did. I called that shop and told about that warning. The lady on the phone also went to the address, but she did NOT see that warning. She confirmed that her PC was OUTSIDE of sz-shop.de like mine.

So the problem is a potentially wrong warning? Or how can we explain that I see a warning and other people do not see it?

I used to be able to see what the cookies were storing. When I tried to do that just now I only have the choice to delete it or not. What happened to viewing them?

Firefox will offer to save usernames and passwords, but then does not remember them in the future. Attempting to import existing data from another browser into Lockwise prompts a request to set a primary password first. Attempting to set a primary password (which is currently not set), yields the error message "Unable to change primary password."

Long time user. Recently while trying to enter my Banco de Costa Rica site, the Connect just spins endlessly. I enter by using Last Pass. Have tried entering all manually, same result. Called bank, they asked what browser I used and said the problem was specific to Firefox, I used Google Chrome, no problem entering site, but pain in the *ss. Have used firefox for 12 to 15 years, would like to stay, but need full functionality

I recently purchased a Mac M1, coming from a Windows / Linux environment. After installing Firefox, it requires an icon on my desktop to run. Then, every time I reboot, Firefox no longer recognizes me. My pins, history, etc. are all gone and I have to re-organize everything again.

I switched from yahoo browser to Fire Fox browser. I now cannot access my yahoo.mail. I believe I saw once that the webpage is not secure. However, I need access for collecting emails and files. What can be done for me to access it. Thank you.

I need to reload Firefox from a disk image after every reboot on my mac. This doesn't take much time but its an exercise after every boot up...Need to run the image, punch in credentials and then wait for the sync-up to see all the browsing history and bookmarks...Is there a fix to resolve this challenge?

I'm sitting here looking at a website that's supposed to have an auto-renewing Let's Encrypt certificate that expired yesterday; the site is serving with active HSTS and an expired cert.

The loss of the VPN software is critical; we need this to work expired certificate or not. (Yes I can tell the difference between an expired cert and a forgery.)
