I have more than one gmail account & Firefox is using the one I DON'T want to use when mailing links to pages. I have an account with Firefox using the gmail account I want to use for this purpose, but it is using my other account somehow. In the application options, I can only choose using gmail & cannot choose which gmail account.

Things I have done which leads to "Unexpected error": 1. Tried to sign in via Windows 7 (after refresh Firefox & in restart with add-ons disabled), Android 8.0 (newly-bought phone) and ios (sister's old phone) -> "Unexpected error" 2. Received confirmation email for new device (new Android 8.0 phone) -> Verification link -> "Unexpected error" 3. Tried to reset password -> received the reset password email -> "Unexpected error"

about:sync-log showed me no logs at all. So hoping this thing got fixed quick.

At the moment with bookmarks in Firefox, when I have only one unique favicon in the bookmarks bar, I don't need accompanying text. However, when I have multiple favicons that are the same, e.g. Github pages, I need a separate text for the Favicon. My setting is for favicons with text. Firefox will not allow me to enter no text and save a bookmark, so in cases where I save a unique favicon, I just fudge it with a pipe "|" character. It would be good if you could save a bookmark without having to enter text, with the favicon + text setting.

Firefox is showing me a message: "Firefox is critically out of date" under the bookmarks tabs. If i choose "Update Now" button I'm being forwared to this site:

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/?flowId=eee4159d-b25c-4c0f-a70c-eac7cfeb611a&fxVersion=61.0.2&isDefaultBrowser=1&searchEngine=ddg&source=heartbeat&surveyversion=56&syncSetup=1&type=button&updateChannel=release&utm_campaign=YourFirefoxiscriticallyoutofdate.Anupdateisrequiredtostaysecure.&utm_medium=show-heartbeat&utm_source=firefox

After I pressed "Download Now" it offers me an older version 52.9.0esr.exe (current 61.0.2 (64-bit)).

Under "Help -> About Mozilla Firefox" it is showing me my firefox is up to date. Why is Firefox telling me i have critical version? What could be wrong?

Hi, I am running Firefox on Windows 8.1 and have a variety of issues: - recaptcha is never displayed - sometimes when making purchases no "submit" button is displayed, preventing me from going to checkout - sometimes search boxes are not displayed.

These problems do not occur when I use Chrome to complete the transactions.

I have disabled all add-ons in FF but this does not eliminate the problems.

This issue has been going on for a while now, through several versions since about 59 or so. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium on a Very fast computer with 8 Gigs of ram.

The issue is that when Firefox is open and I drag another open window in front of it, it leaves white lines and stripes of varying widths, like "ghost trails" from the trailing edges, across the Firefox window below. (see photo) Those lines stay there until I click on the Firefox window, bringing it to the top. Then the window's border and menu bar will repaint, but the window content itself doesn't until I click the top title bar and start to drag the window.

This only happens to Firefox, and not with any other open windows or applications at all. It also doesn't matter what open window is being dragged in front of it, whether is a file explorer window or another program app.

I've read up on other "repainting" issues, but this seems to be different and non of the other solutions seem to have any affect. Not enabling or disabling Hardware Acceleration, or turning Clear Type on or off.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

FYI... I tried adding the picture, but the little image upload box below just has the wheel spinning for the last 20 minutes. So, if the image doesn't show, then it must not have uploaded for some reason. Going to click "Post Question" now. Hope it works.

Every time I start Firefox, I am immediately prompted to log into iCloud (for Windows). I can easily cancel out of this, but it's an unnecessary annoyance. This repeats once an hour for as longs as I am using Firefox.

This doesn't happen with Microsoft Edge, so I assume there is something about Firefox or its setting that is causing this problem.

Anyone have a solution?

Hi, I have 61.0.2 (64 bit windows 10)

Narrator doesn't show the icon ANYMORE. I used it daily, didn't change anything recently BUT only followed this guide to disable WebRTC

In short:

   Enter "about:config" in the firefox address bar and press enter.
   Press the button "I'll be careful, I promise!"
   Search for "media.peerconnection.enabled"
   Double click the entry, the column "Value" should now be "false"
   Done. Do the WebRTC leak test again.
   media.peerconnection.turn.disable = true
   media.peerconnection.use_document_iceservers = false
   media.peerconnection.video.enabled = false
   media.peerconnection.identity.timeout = 1

is this the reason, is this a good thing after all?

Why has the inbuilt Firefox password manager not implemented SHA-256 yet? I recently checked through all the change logs since 2018 since April 2018 and don't yet see it being implemented. I am very much against using 3rd party password managers and hence I have been waiting for the FF password manager to become good enough, but I don't see any good happening.

Is it not being done just to get people to register for online account? The idea of saving passwords on the cloud just to have it encrypted, given the possibility that man in the middle attacks can simply ruin all my saved passwords in one go looks like a round about solution to a simple problem. Also, Firefox doesn't work properly on my (new) Android device so there is no reason for me to use the online account.

Is there any way I can implement SHA-256 without having to bother and/or beg you multiple times? Please give me a viable method (I am an intermediate in C/C++ never done anything in a big software before).

Well, as written above. I'm using these shortcuts quite often to select words when editing. Suddenly it stopped working. I'm on FF 61.0.2.

In some cases it works, in some not. Right here it works, for example. On Github doesn't.

Just for the record, FF Developer Edition 62.0b20 works fine.

Thanks

I'm on Firefox Quantum 61.0.2. Four years ago (1/16/14, 6:55 PM), when I was on 26.0, I posted here recollecting a feature in an earlier version where you could grab the little icon right left of the URL and drag it to a Finder container, and... a teensy file would appear, named something intelligent, with the extension ".webloc". Very handy sometimes.

That feature had disappeared, but, at the time, with your help, we figured out that Command-drag would do the same thing on Version 26.0.

Now, using Version 61, that feature has disappeared again. I tried dragging with nothing, Command, Option and Control. Each of them simply opened the tab in a new window. No webloc files were created. Any idea where this feature went?

Maybe there's a better way to solve my problem besides weblocs. For one of my frequently-performed tasks, I need to open four websites simultaneously, in four separate tabs. I can enter their URLs manually, but I was hoping to have a folder containing four weblocs that I could open all at once. An Applescript would work, but is there some other Firefox feature that I could learn to use that would accomplish the same thing?

my windows7 taskbar: 11+ replicate FF windows w-multiple tabs each is normal use for me. restart FF puts them in new order L to R i can deal with that but would like to be able to restart with these icons staying in the 'same places' because i'm getting old and cranky and forget where i put things more often now.

they're all up there on the taskbar OK but in a different order each time i restart FF. i don't recall locating a Topic similar, or seeing a likely category from Options.

i'm not in a Rush, but have found FF help questions successfully answered in the past. thanks for helping.

I'm using Firefox 61.0.2 under Mac OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.6.

I drive for Uber. The Uber website has worked fine for years. Then, in late July or August, Uber's website's web pages started showing up in Greek! Since then, I've been using Safari instead because I learned all the Greek I know from college math class, which isn't enough to navigate the Uber website using Firefox.

I have not noticed this effect on any other website. Safari Version 11.1.2, on the same webpage, shows me English.

Please suggest how I can research what to do to get Uber's website's webpages to render in English.
