Windows 10 just installed an upgrade. My yahoo email said that there was a problem and that I should down load "Firefox". I did. Firefox says that my "connection is not Secure" SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER . I have looked at your help screens. They might as well be written in a foreign language. I do not have any idea what to do next. Can you help?

Hello. I found some of my bookmarks in Appdata/Roaming/Mozilla/Profile/5ccmq06e.default/bookmarkbackups etc just like firefox help tells me. But some of the bookmarks that I can access when I use firefox browser are not contained in "bookmarkbackups". Thus obviously begs the question(s) 1) where else are my bookmarks for firefox stored, & 2), if this is the only place they are stored, then why are some of my saved bookmarks visable/accessable when using the firefox browser not included in this bookmarkbackups folder? Thank you.

I just upgraded my version 48.2 to version 49.0 and found out that all of my saved logins to preferred websites is missing. Now I must try to remember usernames and passwords to at least 30-50 websites and recreate the list for future use. Is there anything I can do to retrieve those logins or are they lost in the upgrade process?

FF 49.0.2 does not allow "insecure" connection to LAN router

When I enter the IP address for my LAN router (192.168.0.1) and try to connect, FF responds with a message that declares the connection is insecure because the prefix is http:// instead of https:// and will not allow the connection. The same outcome occurs when I use Google Chrome.

As far as I know, it is not possible to configure a secure connection for the router (one that uses TLS). If it were, then I most likely would have done that when I set-up the router, and/or subsequently when I configured it. And I know that Mozilla participates in a campaign to force websites to use TLS connections.

Regardless, I am personally not able to replace the LAN router at this time with one which has such a feature, if there are any available that do have it.

The DDoS attacks effected on Friday, 21 October 2016, absolutely exposed the fact that an enormous number of devices are connected to the Internet without any regard for whether they are secure from hostile access. Even when they have security features, the default configuration is seldom changed by those who install or use them. Of course, I configured my LAN router to have both a unique user name and a strong password. No hacker will bother trying to seize control unless they are specifically targeting my system.

Mozilla has a lot on its agenda, whether every notion belongs there. But Mozilla often fails to realize that implementing a desirable change can make FF unable to access websites and equipment to which we need access. Mozilla must present such changes as options which the FF user can disable so that we can retain usability of the software. Else, using FF leads to a lot of time and effort wasted in dealing with Mozilla's organizational ambitions.

Please advise whether there is a way to use FF to access the LAN router without a "secure connection".

Hello,

I've noticed that, despite me clearing all history, using private browsing, or properly exiting Firefox, an outbound connection to certain IP addresses remains active, like I said, even after exiting the browser. I am able to view these via the Network Monitor that's a part of Kaspersky Internet Security. The only way I can get those connections to stop is by rebooting my computer.

The IPs I've noticed that exhibit this behavior belong to Google, Yahoo, and Twitter.

How can I get this to stop?

Thanks for your time. Best regards.

I don't quite understand what is going on with the random spots all over the pages I have opened with Mozilla Firefox. I know for a fact that Firefox is the issue due to the testing of both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge without any of the black pixilations all over my laptop screen. Sometimes spots are like the ones in the picture attached, other times they are one large line, and sometimes there are large spots all over thescreen

My firefox browser just keeps crashing. It happens on all sites, secure and unsecured. I've updated the browser, ran virus scans. I can't figure it out. Today alone it has crashed at least 10 times. I'm wondering if Windows 10 has anything to do with it. I've been using firefox for more than 10 years on other Windows operating systems with no problems. Any ideas on what could be causing my problems?

orange triangle grey lock 42 : A grey lock with an orange triangle indicates that Firefox is not blocking insecure passive content.

I frequently get this in the address and often disappears and becomes secure when I recycle the page.

I think the problem is with Mozilla/Firefox. If it was unstable, wouldn't it remain unstable after recycling?

When I click the button to forget browser history, and then I select the option of forgetting the last 24 hours, at first it selects what I wanted BUT as soon as i click the final "forget" button, it automatically switches me to only 5 minutes and then disappears with the "thank you" message for me to click on. It won't let me forget 24 hours. This happened over and over. This is not something a user can fix. Only Mozilla Firefox can fix it. I know you are made up of volunteers, so I will appreciate your time whenever you can reply and whenever you can fix the problem. Also, I will appreciate if you are able to make it so we can forget all browser history, not just 24 hours. Thank you for your generous time and hard work.

I recently built a new pc, and installed Firefox. I enabled sync on my Firefox. It repeatedly crashes, sometimes after running for a while and sometimes quite quickly after I start it. There is no pattern where if I'm doing some specific activity/browsing specific website that crashes it. I have the latest Firefox version, and my plugins look okay generally speaking. I have not done the RAM test, or Refreshed Firefox because it's a fresh install, or tried it in safe mode.

Every time I open Firefox a window comes up saying the it's checking to make sure my plugins are compatible. Every time. Every bloody time. Yes, I can hit the enter key and cancel but it's still an unnecessary pain and waste of time. It's also an INTERRUPTION OF MY WORKFLOW and that makes it a serious problem. I put up with Firefox's all too frequent updates, grudgingly, but I cannot abide the annoying and unnecessary plugin check. Please tell me there is a way to reassure Firefox that there are no new plugins and the plugins are up to date. If this cannot be resolved I will have to consider another browser. As much as I like Firefox, and as much as I Dislike others, I will be forced to switch.
