When I first started using Firefox, I could use it to see the radar on The Weather Channel. A couple months ago it stopped working. When I go to that page, what should be the map showing the radar display is blank. I searched online and tried some things, but nothing fixed it. It does work with other browsers.

I'm trying to upgrade from V52 ESR - kept for known and obvious reasons concerning addons compatibility - to a current V81. Copied the profile data from user/appdata/mozilla/firefox.../myprofile/*.* - including "key3.db" (in use), "key4.db" (don't know where this one originates from - shouldn't exist at all for versions < 57 or so) and "logins.json".

So far stumbled upon:

  • No Logins in new system visible. No master password set. After setting a new master password, still no logins visible.
  • This very forum here suggests - in many threads for version upgrades from somewhere in the 50s to up to the 70s - to simply copy the "key3.db" and "logins.json" and to delete the "key4.db" on the new system's profile. That does not change anything at all.

Am i forced to keep the V52, now not only by means of addons compatibility, but also by means of login manager compatibility?

What would the correct path to upgrade be? Would i have to install each and every in-between-version from 52 to 81 to be able to migrate? Will i run into the exact same trouble doing it that way, only burning daytime for nothing? Or is it guarantied to somehow get the logins data transfered to the current version? How did all the Millions of other users fare with that aspect? Is that an extremely rare case where users set a master password, so that developers decided to not care anymore about those nasty paranoids?

Hi there,

Today I noticed Reddit tabs, and only Reddit, have a green line underneath them. Did I accidentally hit a "favourites" shortcut or something? The green line is starting to bother me a bit and I would like to have it gone if possible.

Thanks :)

At first I was getting the something not wrong but don't fret we'll give it another shot message so I looked online and added Twitter to a block list and cleared all my cookies. This got rid of that message and I was able to get to the login page but when I go to login it still won't let me. I know the password is right (it also doesn't say anything like incorrect username/password). Someone in another forum had mentioned going into configs and flicking something from true to false or vice versa and that also didn't work. Most places I look just say the same old thing about cookies. It works perfectly fine on the mobile app and Chrome still but I prefer Firefox. I'm out of ideas.

Under "Cookies and Site Data," "Clear Data" also removes the exceptions to "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed." That's a contradiction, and basically it becomes a waste of time to enter the exceptions. That's what exceptions are -- the rule "exepts" them. It would be nice if Firefox could fix this (unless there is already a work-around for it). FWIW. Thanks.

Hi,

I had a window open with many tabs. I opened a new window with 1 tab. I accidentally closed the window with the many tabs, then closed the one with 1 tab. Now, I would like to restaure the window with many tabs but since it wasn't the last closed, Firefox restaure the one with 1 tab. How can I do since I'm trying to restaure a window that wasn't the last closed?... I have red: "If you close each window one by one, only the tabs of the last closed window will be reopened the next time you start Firefox".... So I'm afraid it's not possible but never know ?...

Thanks! Cyril

I would like to use HTTPS to access my router's web interface without having to bypass the "Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead" page.

Following my router's instructions I exported the certificate. I then accessed the Privacy & Security settings in Preferences, and under View Certificates I imported the router's certificate.

When opening the HTTPS web interface Firefox reports SEC_ERROR_INADEQUATE_KEY_USAGE.

Hi,

I need to disable the Top Sites section where facebook/youtube etc. buttons are shown. In short I want every new window and every new tab shown on the browser to show a blank page (about:blank) for all users, and this needs to be configured at install time.

I am using a policies.jason file during installation to control certain aspects, but there is no setting to do what I am trying to do. Is there any way?

I am using Firefox 78.3.1 ESR. Thanks in advance!

Since some of the companies that I have online accounts with have updated their sites I am finding they are all broken in Firefox but not Chrome. In my home network there are several servers whose URLs end with ".lan". For example http://nas.lan or http://router.lan. When I want to connect to these machines with Firefox, I usually type router.lan in the address bar. But then Firefox starts searching for router.lan on google. Afterwards I am asked if I had wanted to access http://router.lan instead and when I click "Yes" Firefox takes me where I actually wanted to go. However, this can get quite annoying over time, and I wonder if it is possible to tell Firefox to go directly to the URL I enter whenever it is a string ending with ".lan" and avoid to search for it? Don't get me wrong, I do not want to disable the search bar completely as I am very used to type in searches into the address bar directly.

I'm on a window. I click on a link. Before it fully load, i get back on my first tab. The opened tab fired up a popup to inform me of something.

I would like to be automaticly redirected on this tab without having to manually press the checkbox on the dialog popup.

There must be a preference to add to user.js in my profile folder to set it to TRUE.

I tried doing the same thing with the other browsers (Google Chrome & Microsoft Edge) & they work perfectly. I also tried reinstalling Firefox but still the issue is the same & Firefox on my old laptop doesn’t have this issue. Can anyone help me with this one?
