I-Firefox Isithangami Sokwesekwa

I successfully make FF my default browser and it remains such for the current session. Session = one continuous login period. After restarting or shutting down/powering up the PC (Windows 10), the browser is reset to Internet Explorer.

So every session, I have to set FF as my default browser. Microsoft seems to make other makers' applications less accessible by insisting on defaulting to Microsoft products when available.

I primarily use Firefox 64. I have Firefox 32 on my computer to use when a website can't handle Firefox 64, e.g. San Diego Gas & Electric. Both versions are current, version 75.0. When I open Firefox 64 each day I get a diagnostic saying that it is not my default browser (Firefox 32 is). So, I've tried to change my default to Firefox 64 but nothing works - there are 3 "Firefox"s listed when I click on the default settings page and I've tried every option I can think of but I can't seem to change my default from Firefox 32, even going to IE, Edge, Chrome as default then back to Firefox 1, 2 or 3.

How do I make Firefox 64 my default? Should i try to uninstall Firefox 32 and then see if I can ger Firefox 64 as my default before re-installing Firefox 32?

I have been running on Windows 7. Upgraded to 10. Cannot set Firefox as default browser at this time. Do I have to download Firefox again? Will I lose all my saved passwords if I do? Thanks. Janice

Hello, I recently wanted outside links to be opened in private mode in default. I found solution here. It was to change in some flag in entries in regedit (HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FirefoxURL-308046B0AF4A39CB\shell\open\command and FirefoxHTML from -url to -private-window. It works great but Firefox started asking to be my default browser despite being it. As if entry "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -osint -url"%1" as whole defined if this is my default browser (with url flag) and not only location of Firefox. For now I just unchecked Firefox to check if its my default browser. Am I missing something?

Microsoft/Windows 10 has removed Firefox from their list of potential default browsers. Most information answering "how to make Firefox my default browser" is out of date as the information says to go to where Microsoft Edge is noted as the Windows 10 system's choice of default browser, then to click on that and choose Firefox from the choice dialog box. Sadly Firefox is no longer in that choice dialog box. Please advise, thanks.
