How to choose my default Search engine

If I have Firefox, is Duck Duck go my browser?

I want to avoid Google. How do I make Duckduckgo my default?

I would like to know why doesn't Firefox Desktop support using a different search engine for private windows? I have the option on my phone and tablet but its not support… (funda kabanzi)
