Hi, I'm working with Firefox 91.0 (64bit). The newest update has changed something, that I need to change back:

When I klick on "bookmarks", the space between the bookmarks is much bigger than before, nearly double. Same thing, when I rightclick on an image etc. for download: much bigger space between the lines for choosing.

I've been told this can be changed in about:config, but I don't know what to do there and I also don't dare to change anything there without knowing exactly what to do.

Get rid of the bloody thing. I have reset, reloaded, swithed to Chrome and the wretched thing continues to haunt my every documant. There must be a simple answer, what is it please?

I am not able to close tabs using the command+w combination for Firefox. I have tried using the safe mode, and the issue persists there too. All other keyboard shortcuts seem to be working (refresh, tab switching, quitting Firefox completely, etc), and this behavior is restricted only to Firefox, other browsers have no such issue. I have also tried completely re-installing Firefox, but it didn't fix it.

I work on a university lab PC, which I need to sign in to and out of (including deleting all saved data and extensions) every day. I have Firefox sync enabled (including extensions, because I require them).

However every time I sign in, the message pages of all the synced extensions pop up as tabs, wasting around three minutes of my time (I've to wait for them to open first because if I try to type anything in my search engine, another tab opens, switching the cursor to this newly opened tab. Plus it is annoying to manually close around a dozen tabs).

How to disable such 'messages' from opening automatically upon the first sync?

hello, I don't understand why I can't see the icons of the modules at the right side of the address bar, as it was before. So I can't use the modules, for example to translate smth.

When clicking on the three horizontal lines in the right hand corner, to see the next pane on bookmarks, history, etc,. I have to left click instead of just hovering and have the appropriate pane open to the left as works with Chrome. Is there a way I can get the next pane to open automatically without clicking?

I am an avid Firefox user (desktop and mobile) and until recently, on the mobile ios browser, I was easily able to change from my default duckduckgo search engine to an alternate if I needed more oomph. This option is now gone. I see other people commenting on this too in the App Store reviews. I really want this back - I don’t want to change from DuckDuckGo but there are a lot of times it’s helpful to use google, and having to copy my search, go to google.com and paste it, is annoying, when I used to have the easy option of clicking in the search bar and then picking google on the bottom toolbar.

The "temporary fix" as provided was, indeed, temporary. about:config -- "browser.proton.contextmenus.enabled" change from "true" to "false."

It continued to work through update 91.0.2, but not with the latest iteration (92.0.1) It now appears I'm stuck with the new, not improved and not helpful bookmark format.

The "userChrome.css file" option is not one I'm willing to attempt. Why does Mozilla think it knows better than me what I want in a browser?

A new, and easier, fix will be deeply appreciated.

I am a Linux user (Manjaro) and I've been using Firefox for ages now. I got hold of another computer recently, and I just installed Manjaro Gnome on it as well. I started Firefox, and suddenly I see a UI change, which I don't think is an update, but who knows. In this version of firefox the search bar (along with the new tab, refresh, pocket, etc buttons) are abobe the tab list (which spans the full width). You can see it here https://imgur.com/a/idqp5jb

Moreover, i tried changing themes via the Add-ons Manager and they can't be applied.

When using the Troubleshooting mode, Firefox is back to normal! But in normal mode it is not, so I am not really sure what the problem is. I would be thankful if you could tell me how to fix this.

I had Fast Close Tabs addon for Firefox 56 but it does not work in newer FF versions. The addon changed FF's window close button behaviour so that when pressing the window close button only the current tab was closed. This was very convenient and fast way to close a tab because it did not require careful mouse aiming (when window is maximized) or keyboard shortcut. Just move mouse pointer to top right corner of the screen and click.

My understanding is that it is not possible to do similar addons anymore. But I was wondering is it possible to get similar behaviour by using firefox autoconfig file?

There are two events that I have found: - quit-application-requested - browser-lastwindow-close-requested

I don't know which one is the correct one and how to change it's behaviour.

I guess I must use Services.obs.removeObserver method but no idea how.

I tried the Theme Font & Size Changer add-on but it says "because of the new extension system on firefox, most of the functionality is not available anymore."

I have no idea what that means, but I do know these tabs were not this small awhile ago. And my other older computer's tabs are readable.

I tried the about:config thing and changed it to 2 (layout.css.devPixelsPerPx) but that didn't have any effect.

Is there any help for ppl who can't see so great?

Firefox has switched from taking my search options out of the search bar in the middle of my screen and puts them in the address bar which wants to make everything www. and is annoying for me.

Howdy!, I'm running Firefox 94.0.1 64bit on a Windows 7 PC, and there isn't anything going wrong, but I would like to be able to sort the list of files being downloaded at the top of the list from files that have completed downloaded automatically, and I can't seem to find any help topics about this already.

For example if I am downloading 20 files, I understand that only the last 5 files I started to download will appear and will show in the list unless I click on the "show all downloads" button at the bottom... that's ok, and is as expected, that's not my problem...

BUT... And here's my problem, if lets say the first file of those twenty files is a huge 10 GB file and is going to take 50+ minutes to download, but the 2nd thru 20th files are just some dinky 2 meg JPG files and they download practically instantly... whenever I open my "ongoing download list", it will STILL only show the last 5 files downloaded, even though they are completed and yet that first file which ISN'T finished doesn't show at all until I click the "show all" button to even see it, and even then I may still have to scroll down the list of finished files in order to actually see it's progress...

Is there a command I can put into my profile / or is there a preexisting add-on/extension (or whatever) that i can download/install that will constantly sort the output of the downloads list so that the ACTUAL active downloads are the top of the list showing up as those first five lines on the short list, and if I have more than five the rest are hidden until I click the show all button (preferably sorted in the order of most percentage completed to least percentage completed), and then, as a file completes its download, it gets moved to the top of the completed/history section... IE after all the files are completely downloaded, the list will be sorted by the file COMPLETION time NOT the time I STARTED to download it. I seem to recall that a prior version of Firefox acted this way, but I don't remember if I had to modify something to get it to do that, or if it was a standard/stock feature that I somehow turned off in this build and forgot how i did it... or, if I'm actually misremembering it that way at all and it's just wishful thinking on my part!!!

after a power outage on my Win 10 machine my Metamask-CryptoWallet-Addon doesn't work any more [according to Google it's a known problem for 3 years...].

I have backups of C: and restored all Folders with "Firefox" in the path, e.g. C:\Users\ ...\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox... (including the file webextension@metamask.io.xpi)

But the addon is STILL broken. So Metamask must save some data somewhere else... But where? :-|

Any idea?!? Thanks for any help!!

The speed dial add-on has been blocked but I didn't know it was going to be blocked and therefore need a back up of all my links as it held the shortcuts to a number of businesses.

I'm happy to transfer this to another add on but need the links.

This primary password has put my computer in a world of hurt.. I removed it and it keeps asking me for the password.. I have lose all my password which now I have to change all of them.. I can't get rid of it.. I am changing browsers and will never be back and I have been using this since day one. Good bye
