The newest Firefox won't allow the inline Windows media file .wma, and Firefox plugin, to play. Previously, it played every time.

When I open Firefox a second Firefox window opens with http://www.weeklyhealthnewscanada.com/latest/articles/breakthroughdiet/vc/ca/index.php in it. This is a form of spam since I do not want this site to open on my computer and I have not subscribed to it.

Firefox 3.6.3 crashes at start-up. I'm very frustrated with Firefox. I've researched through out the forum posts and tried everything I've found about FF not starting. A previous version of FF was running OK then one day when I tried using FF again and it now crashes at start-up. It will not start period. If I didn't need FF for this one particular application then I would just use another browser. I've been looking for a solution for this problem for many many weeks. Someone please help.

I asked Firefox to remember me on a certain site. Unfortunately, that site requires a number to be input in between the name and the password. Firefox is putting the password where the number should be. Can I undo this?

Updated FF 3.5.9 to 3.6.3. Printer was disabled FF says it is an incompatible add-on (HP Smart Web Printing 4.60). FF checked for compatible versions but did not find any. How do I fix so printer will work?

Firefox is suddenly not remembering or filling in any of my passwords. All of the appropriate boxes are checked in the options/security tab, but it won't remember any passwords and shows none saved. How do I get it to remember and fill in my passwords again?

Keeps asking if I want allow the use of an "uninstalled" font for every page.

Transferred Firefox and other programs to new computer; however, my Google toolbar (especially bookmarks of concern) did not transfer. I downloaded it again (more than once); it shows up on my Tools/Addo-ons as enabled but does not show up on the View/Toolbar section (never since new computer). I uninstalled and reinstalled, but no luck. What now?

I have not installed Firefox. Thinking about it and it sounds good until I see all the problems people are having with crashing and connecting etc. That is why I want to know if an older version is available for download. I would feel more comfortable.

Also if do install, want to be able to read / write Russian language but not lose English as the primary language by default. Is this possible?

I can't receive email, Verizon said it was because they put a filter on their system for virus protection and it must be causing me to not receive thunderbird mail. They want me to use verizon yahoo where they said my mail goes anyway, they set it up for me,,, I don't like it at all, I want thunderbird back can you help me?

Since I upgraded to 3.6.3 my bookmarks folder has become nearly half the size upon exporting it in html format. I normally refresh my working copy of Mozilla by saving the bookmarks and then erasing all aspects of Firefox and starting over from scratch. I am concerned that if I rely upon this smaller folder I may be losing data. Can someone tell me what is happening here? It could be that this is just an improvement in Firefox but I do not know how to test the waters to see if all my data is saved.

Every time I open Firefox, I get several javascript errors that a "script has become slow or unresponsive" referencing line 641 of file nsBlockListService.js. I took a look at the file and it looks like this javascript is trying to do some kind of online lookup at startup. I've tried disabling the blocklist in about:config as well as renaming "blocklist.xml" (suggestion from an online search) but nothing has worked. In my opinion, it is extremely bad design to make an online lookup a startup dependency - Firefox takes well over 5 minutes to load and will sometimes hang - I am thinking of switching to Opera - programs that cannot even start are lame IMHO. I am not the only one experiencing this issue - why is there no posted fix? Why is Firefox even trying to do "anti-phishing/anti-malware" when my antivirus already does it for me? It seems to me it is just another way for Google to gather data about browsing habits. Tying the use of client software to any sort of online server is bad design and unstable in the long term since there is no way of knowing how long the server will be available. Firefox's startup sequence should run independent of any third-party services. It doesn't make sense to force every user of Firefox to wait 5 minutes every time they open the browser, just to perform some sort of "blocklist check". The last time I took a look at the list of blocked servers, ther were only about 20 on there. What a waste of time! How can this check be disabled?
