since yesterday whenever I try to open Firefox, it just crashes immediately. I get the option to choose a profile but after I choose I see the window open very briefly and it closes immediately after and gives me the crash report thing. I don't want to reinstall as my data is on there and I'm not sure if it's linked to an account or no.

Firefox is shutting down all my active tabs automatically WITHOUT asking me. This is regularly happening and wastes a lot of time. Is it due to installing Updates ? I DON"T want ANY updates and I am fully happy with my current version. If this doesn't go away, I will have to delete this browser and move elsewhere.

My browser started crashing after the latest update, and it still crashes even in Safe Mode. It doesn’t close immediately upon opening; instead, it shuts down suddenly after about one minute or longer. This issue never occurred before and only started appearing after the recent update. Firefox keeps suddenly crashing, I have reset Firefox, deleted it and reinstalled it, I have used DISM and SFC to repair any issues and I have set up a new profile within Firefox with no extensions, but still I have the same issue, either tabs suddenly crash or the whole Firefox does.

Hello, Whenever I open Firefox, it crashes repeatedly. This has been going on for at least a couple of weeks, whether it's right when I open it or hours later when I'm in the middle of something. I've disabled extensions, ran it in troubleshoot, and done the steps advised to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this has rendered Firefox unusable. Attached is a screenshot of the digits of the crash reports, as well as the link for the one from today.

I don't want to spend any more on my PC. It was the largest amount of money I had ever seen when I first bought it. Even if I have way more resources now, I don't believe that a few faulty locations in my memory should be causing so many problems for myself and for developers who have no clue why their users keep crashing.

It is either my RAM or VRAM. Disabling XMP on my RAM dampened these issues but couldn't fully solve them.

It's exactly as I said. Normal programs just crash. Kernel-level programs or anti-cheats can entirely blue screen my PC. It all has to do with where these programs are writing to in my hardware. It's only a few locations that I have faulty. Most programs work fine. Most games work fine. Most crashes are very transient.

Firefox is a transient and common crasher for me. It's so painful to be scrolling a page and have the page crash, just for the previous page to load instead of the newer one that I was on, and on top of that I could also be losing work or effort.

I know this isn't exactly a dev support page, but this problem is so recurring that I don't know what to think anymore. There has to be a way to check which memory locations are fried without causing a bluescreen or crashing the program. Maybe it's a Windows issue and devs could easily fix it, if it weren't for Windows bottlenecks like labelling the faulty locations as "protected". I've seen at least 1 crash where the output said something like "Error: tried writing to protected location" blah blah blah then it spit out some hexcode or exact location and blahblahblah. And that was the entire error message.

Since the latest Firefox latest update yesterday (02/24/2026), each time I try to open a new tab in Firefox it crashes. I get a "gah, your tab has crashed" message but when I hit the "restore" link nothing happens. How do I fix this at my end? Thank you.

For the past few weeks I have been having constant crashes in the form of tabs crashing and complete browser crashes. I have tried disabling every single extension, still crash. it even crashes in troubleshoot mode. In fact its crashed while I am writing this. Seriously thinking about giving up entirely on this browser and switching.

Firefox frequently and continuously force-closes the entire program on me, multiple times a day. I have tried updating my computer, checking for Firefox updates, and any extension updates that could be affecting this. HOW DO YOU MAKE THIS STOP?

Firefox is CONSTANTLY crashing now and I'm about ready to switch to another browser unless someone can give me a reason to stay.

Last time the Fire Fox updates I noticed a weird change with the browser's behavior. the browser keeps crashing just anywhere I go! I keep losing my tabs and got kicked out of the browser losing the webpages where I was! Please fix this problem and for now at the moment I would be ok if I could go back to the last old version before that happen? I appreciate your help guys!

I've got constant crashes jn last update Firefox 148.0.2 (Desktop). Often it happens when Google Meets launched in browser and i started switch between tabs or another applications. Just got my repaired laptop back. Windows Home 23H2 build 22631.6199. Installed Firefox, synched my account. Firefox or a firefox tab have crashed 19 times in the last 3 days since the fresh install.

Actually crashed while preparing this message. What to do?

my firefox keep crashing when i join google meet and i need to do multitask so i open another firefox windows(private or not) it always crash few second after, i have tried the trouble shoot mode its still crashing, even the new windows from SSO request do trigger my firefox to crash. when the browser crash it does offer me to restore my session

I would like to report a potential bug in Mozilla Firefox related to recent updates.

After downloading a PDF file and opening it directly in the browser, the tab crashes. Following this crash, it becomes impossible to open any files (regardless of file type) within the browser — every attempt results in another tab crash. The crash report cannot be reviewed, as the tab fails immediately and can only be closed.

As a temporary workaround, changing the default PDF handler to an external application prevents the issue. However, this is not a viable solution for us, since some of our internal systems require PDFs to open directly in the browser after download.

We have verified that this issue does NOT occur in version 148.0.2 — everything works correctly there. However, after updating to version 149.0, the problem reappears consistently. Firefox also automatically updates after synchronization, making it difficult to remain on a stable version.

According to the release notes, there were changes in PDF handling in recent updates, so this may be related to a technical regression.

Could you please investigate this issue or advise on a proper fix or workaround?
