when i sign on to my computer, frequently a prompt will appear that says i have to close the old firefox. sometimes i have to close it 5 or more times before i finally get connected to the internet. what can i do? im 83 and not tech savvy. also, when i sign on-the site crashes a lot and i should restart firefox and send a report in.

I have private browsing disabled on Firefox but there is a way to still use it via Ctrl +H , right click an item and there is dropdown of "open in private window" and it works. However I have no other way to open private windows since I blocked it. Also when I Ctrl+T in the private browser, it says this is disabled.

Therefore this option in Ctrl+H right click menu should not be there and I don't recall seeing it before. Maybe a bug with a recent Firefox update.

Does anyone know what has happened or how to remove this option?

(My laptop is very slow. I have cleaned the cashe, performed disc cleanup, cleaned the memory, and everything i can think of. I opened task manager and see that multiple instances of Firefox open. (photo #1) I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. I have also tried changing the preferences to 1 instance, but it wont allow me to. (photo #2) Please help.

I just purchase a new computer. Windows 11. When I first set it up I tried to log into Yahoo.com mail on 4 different browsers. None of them worked. Either had the error message of "1. Disable Ad Blockers 2. Enable Java Script". or "something went wrong". I disabled the ad/pop up blockers but cannot find settings for Java. I am not having trouble on any other device, nor with any other website.

I restored the computer to factory specs since I had hardly anything on it. That did not work either.

Suite à la mise à jour de Firefox avec l'arrivée des nouveaux profils, j'ai perdu tout ce que j'avais enregistré sur ma session : tous mes mots de passe, mes marque-pages ainsi que les données de mon compte. Impossible de les retrouver ou de récupérer les données de mon compte initial. Je ne comprends pas ce qu'il s'est passé et surtout, j'aimerais savoir comment faire pour récupérer mes mots de passes et marques pages qui ont disparus ??

BLUFF:

1. Long start up times (do not see this on other browsers) 2. FIrefox often crashes. Browser tells me that a report has been sent. To where? No response. 3. How do I check if my browser is up to date?

What could be causing this? What are my effective actions to increase performance?

Every time I click away to a different program, it closes my private browsing window. It automatically closes and I cannot find a relevant setting. Only happens in private browsing.

Dear Firefox Support,

Since yesterday, I’ve been experiencing an issue where the entire browser randomly freezes for a few seconds. When this happens, everything stops — I can’t open or close tabs or windows, and I can’t type in the address bar. If I’m typing something when it freezes, the input seems to be stored in the background and then appears all at once after about 5 seconds, when the browser becomes responsive again. All add-ons are disabled, the computer has been restarted, and the latest version of Firefox is installed. This issue started just yesterday — before that, everything was working perfectly. No new programs were installed, and all other applications on my system are functioning normally. When I switch to Chrome, there are no issues at all. Thank you for your help.

New computer upgrade from MS10 to MS 11 365. I lost all bookmarks for internet locations. How do I retrieve them? Where is the new bookmark access icon on the Firefox home screen?

Hi there. The Netflix homepage is no longer displayed properly. Only the headlines are visible without the thumbnails (see screenshot 1). Netflix is properly displayed in screenshot 2 which was taken in an other browser. Can somebody please help me to solve this problem. Many thanks.

When opening firefox, why do I have to wait for it to update?

I am asking it to open, not to update. You can do it on closing, not on opening. Am I opening the browser for you to update, or for me to navigate?

I want to delete/remove subject folder from my Windows 11 desktop. I did not create this folder; it suddenly appeared after I reinstalled the Firefox browser. These are the steps I am using in the deletion process: I right click on the folder and click on the delete icon. At the top of the window it says "Folder Access Denied." (Image 1) Below that it says, "You'll need to provide administrator permission to delete this folder." If I click on the "Continue" button, then the error message changes to "You require permission from OWNER/(me) ... to make changes to this folder." (Image 3) The permissions for this folder listed in the "Security" tab lists three groups: 1. "SYSTEM," 2. "F... S... (...@ Outlook.com)" and 3. "Administrators (Owners/Administrators)." All the foregoing have full control and modify control for this folder. The "More details" seen in Images 1 and 3 is grayed out so I cannot get any additional information. How can I delete this unnecessary and data hogging folder? Thank you all very much in advance to all that chose to respond.

My bookmark features has stopped working. When I click the star, it does not turn blue and I cannot bookmark anything. Is there a fix? I have stuff in the bookmark area and would not like to loose it.
