I would like to open my history page and select an entry and open in it a new tab and the history page to remain open.

It is annoying that the history page closes automatically after the user opens a selected entry. Because I often view history trying to find a previous tab and typically don't find it first go, but then have to reopen history :(

Is it possible to change that behaviour?

i use the same add-ons on my desktop and laptop. i open my laptop and click on synchronize and later i open my desktop. two of these add-ons on the desktop have disappeared! this is not the first time. what can do i, how can install it to prevent it does not happen again?

Well, I have applied all the options about proxy settings with the same result of long time for opening websites when first start of firefox. During these months I took notice to the one point, i.e. if I open website using firefox in the earlier morning there is no problem with the speed of opening as well as if I open another browser of edge the last one opens website without any delay. So the challenge of long time opening websites when the first start of firefox is still in force. How to resolve this?

Hello, The bookmark toolbar has a FOLDER called "Other Bookmarks" just appeared out of nowhere and I just noticed it. It contained 4-5 links which I deleted assuming this would delete the folder and I added a random bookmark to see if that might do anything. No! I have searched for fixes including going into "About:Config" chamed tried changing the command (i.e., browser.toolbars.bookmarks.showotherbookmarks, and other similar commands from True to False), none of this did anything. There is no right-click command over the folder, "Show Bookmarks" as you can see in the screen shot. I need to get rid of this, as it is taking up valuable real estate and is an eyesore so to speak. Again, this just popped out of nowhere when I was moving/deleting bookmarks on the toolbar that wouldn't cause this folder to appear out of nowhere. Thank you in advance. I do hope someone can help!

MacBook Pro OS High Sierra Firefox version: 106.0b4

When I bring up Google Maps I put the address in and Firefox shows an error message. This has been happening for a couple of months. See Error Message below.. Google Chrome has NO problem pulling up the address. How can I fix this? Thank you.

A required site I need to use for work has a popup dialog box that never works right in Firefox, the popup dialog shows up as a blank box or doesn't popup at all in Firefox. I must print what is supposed to be there in that dialog box. It's been like this for a couple of years now. I've tried everything imaginable and searched high and low for the fix. I have had this particular site set as an exception to popups blocking, and then I also set it to have all popups unblocked. Still doesn't work either way. I have to use the site in Brave instead, and it's the only way I can get what I need done. I used to love Firefox SO much, I used it exclusively. But it has undergone some unpleasant changes recently, such as hiding my open tabs on my iphone. Because of these issues I find myself using other browsers more and more.

I shutdown my firefox browser and was running top on my linux POP_OS 22.04 laptop.

I noticed a firefox process running at 23 to 25 % of the cpu even though the browser was closed. Can you tell me what is running and how I control it?

I was trying to move it and I accidentally deleted it. I would like to reinstall it. I cannot seem to find the right phrase to find it on your sight and do a reinstall. If you would be so kind to point me in the right direction,I would be most grateful. Little updates like this is why I have remained a loyal fan since the Netscape Navigator days.

CNBC live tv (cnbc.com) fails when I press the play button. I have cleared cache, cookies and tried the troubleshoot mode. Using vanilla EDGE browser CNBC tv works.

Since 106.0.1 was installed the NY Times acrostic no longer shows a grid for solving the puzzle. Also, the Oregonian newspaper online no longer has arrows to move to the next or previous page of the paper. These things continue to exist on Chrome. I have other problems with this version but these are the major issues at present.

Is it possible to request a feature for Firefox called "Link to Highlight"?

Chromium based browsers have a feature where you can make a selection of text on a webpage and in the right click context menu select: "Copy link to highlight", which copies a link to the webpage, with an appended selection like so: "#:~:text=Steps%20to%20reproduce%20the%20issue%3A". Then when the link is clicked, the Chromium based browser would scroll down to the match of the text, flash a colour to show where it is, and tint the text with a subtle highlight. The text in this example would then be "Steps to reproduce the issue.". This helps in my workflow when using a browser, so this feature would make me super happy.

I use Firefox for my work and that involves working with a lot of images online. For some reason, this option has been completely removed from Firefox for me.

Now when I right-click on an image, there is no longer any option to copy the image, copy the image's location or save the image.

Like I said, I use this browser for work and if I can't interact with images I'll have to start using some other browser.

I've tried refreshing and using it with zero addons. At the moment it seems to be freezing after I copy things from a textarea. It started freezing just after the Windows update... core isolation is OFF (laptop doesn't support it)... Firefox is at the latest version too.

Hi, I would like a GLOBAL setting that will BLOCK/STOP all Autoplay period! Why does this not exist?

The below is a "Chosen Solution" that does not work. Can this be removed? as it is no longer relevent? I have just wasted my time trying it.

You can look at these prefs on the the about:config page to see what settings work for you to block autoplay.

   media.autoplay.default = 5 [0:allow;1:blockAudible;2:Prompt;5:blockAll]
   media.autoplay.blocking_policy = 2
   media.autoplay.allow-extension-background-pages = false
   media.autoplay.block-event.enabled = true 

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.

I use pihole on my home network but firefox doesn't seem to care. i disabled DNS over HTTPS but still it seems it ignores my dns server

All my menu texts are so TINY now, that I can't read them, but the browser page is SO WIDE that I can't ever see a whole page and I have to scroll from side to side to read things, which is a ROYAL PAIN as I miss seeing a lot of things. No one can seem to help. I tried the limited percentage things, 67% used to work but now that is too big and when I go smaller I can't read ANY of the text, it is TOO TINY! I can't do my work! The screen shot won't paste on here.

I have a pretty frustrating issue with custom search engines. I use custom search engines all the time to look up words on a dictionary website. In cases where I need to look up something that is more than one word, I'm unable to use this feature because Firefox automatically adds '+' to encode spaces to the URL. since the website that I use does not know how to deal with that, I am unable to use this otherwise convenient feature in cases where my searches utilize spaces.

is this behavior adjustable in any way?
