I tried everything in the message I received but there was no (obvious) way to reply. I will attach a screenshot of what is occurring. Search Baron is hijacking my web searches. If I specifically click on use google in the search bar then it works. If I just type a search phrase, search baron takes over (see the URL in the attached screenshot, that is what appears no matter what I search). I can open a web page fine.

I have been using Firefox for years and have always used Gmail as my default email account. Suddenly I can no longer open a mailto link - just on one of my several PCs. I go to settings and there is no option for Gmail or anything else. I tried copying the link from one of my other computers but there is nowhere to Paste that. Weird...

The video's play fine, but when I click off the browser into another app, the video begins to lag and stutter.

I've tried to mess with the Performance settings to no avail - also disabled extensions with the same result.

i'd like to copy my Firefox profile from PC1 to a new PC2;

Last time i tried this, i ended up with PC2 having the same "name" as PC1 in "Sync". This caused weird sync issues, as the system thought my PC2 was PC1 as vice versa.

So, is it possible to copy my entire profile with all addons/settings, BUT, make "Sync" recognize it as a NEW pc ?

I have searched for "How to share tabs between profiles" in firefox.

I was offered this option:

Share multiple tabs

   Visit the tabs tray by tapping the number next to the address bar, this number shows how many open tabs you have:
   Tap the three-dot menu button in the tabs tray.
   Select Share all tabs.
   The list of tabs to be shared will appear.

Visit the tabs tray - not very clear. by tapping the number next to the address bar - which number? I have more tabs that can fit across the screen and am not seeing any number/s.

Could someone help me with this please? I have a lot of migration to do.

So, I've just installed Firefox in a notebook I have and now there's a website where I can't see some pictures. https://i.imgur.com/E86dhVB.png There should be a picture there instead of (IMG:link) https://i.imgur.com/7lzrbfU.png There should also be a picture there, behind "Redvirux". Some pictures are shown, though, but most aren't. It's an http website, but it had been working fine on my Windows 8 instalation. Do I need some codecs? Is it a Windows 10 problem?

Hi, I'm back to an older computer where I already had Firefox installed. I have it installed and synchronized on 3 other computers and it works perfectly there. My main issue is that in the settings, Firefox is supposed to open with all the tabs I had opened when I closed it. It doesn't... It sends me to the home page. Second issue, also unique: I'm using Duck and go as search engine, and I have the same issue: it doesn's save my preferences (when it does on the same computer with Brave browser) Should I uninstall it all and try again? I already applied all the solutions suggested in th online help pages...

Hello - there are add-ons for Amazon, Google, Facebook, EBay and Twitter - none of which I added - showing up on the Firefox browser as running during browser start. I can see them when I use CC Cleaner. They are browser plugins set to run upon start up. I can disable them but need to do it every time, as there is no way to delete them that I can see. I would like to find out why these plugins are there and how I can delete them.

Referring to this forum post, step 2 of the chosen solution no longer exists. Please help.

I recently ran into a problem with firefox and amazon. That was fixed by uninstalling/reinstalling and using links from the 'old firefox data' file. Some things did not come back as expected so I did a system restore. The last restore point was before the problem. That did not bring back the missing items though.

One of the things that changed is the 'shortcuts' The shortcuts I used have mostly gone away and do not re-populate, so far. I liked the convenience of having this list of frequently used shortcuts and half the ones I always used are gone.

The recent activity links seem to be limited to 16 and are huge icons.

Now there was a change to the control bar top of the page. Specifically the download status icon. It used to show the download progress and terminate when the dl is complete. NOW, and I find it annoying, upon completion of the dl, a drop down list of the most recent downloads pops-up. Why? I do not need to see that list every time a dl successfully occurrs. And why is there no way to let it go back to the previous operation?

There is an old adage that software developers don't seem to get: "If it aint broke, don't fix it."

when you select text and right click popup "Search google for 'text marked'" , here google is your FF's default search engine, but for people in multi-lingual region would prefer to search e.g. web in the language of the selected text, which makes more sense for the results.

I wonder if FF could add this function, auto detect the text's language and search in e.g. google.de, google.cn or google.fr?

Which is like the macOS lookup, it detect the text language and point to that dictionary?

FF could be a little more intelligent, right?

For some websites, get the following error message: "Error: Secured connection failed. While connecting www.obelink.de, the following error occured: PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR This web site cannot be displayed, because the authencity of the received data could not be verified" (Sorry - I use Firefox German version, so this is my translation of the German error message) I get this error mostly after Firefox update, presently: 102.0.1 (64-Bit) I tried to empty the cache, closed Firefox (Shft + Ctrl + Q), restarted - nope. Interesting detail: When connecting to www.obelink.de on my Samsung Tab A7 (Firefox for Android 102.2.0), the web site opens instantly. And the Android firefox is much faster that this here (Win 10). Can anybody help to fix the issue?

I've searched with other keywords but couldn't find the new one.

I am not too good with the computer and have just starting using Firefox. I will do my best to describe my question so please bar with me. I have 2 rows of websites that I frequent...actually only using the first row and 5 spaces in the second row. When I go to a different website Firefox is automatically adding that website to one of the boxes in the second row which I do not want. How do I stop this? Question 2...using Ebay as an example...if I keep searching on Ebay and have looked at lets say 5 different pages how do I go back to the home screen without having to hit the back button 6 times? I just tried to open a new window using File, New Window. It is GONE. I always use that. Now all I get are New Tab New Container Tab (grayed out so I can't select that) New Private window, some other stuff.

The same is true if I right click. I get: Open Link in New Tab Open Link in New Private window.

What did I do to cause these changes?

I have the option set to always ask me if I want to open a pdf with browser, acrobat, or to download. I usually select open with Acrobat and, for the last few months, I have been getting an unwanted download as well. I found in the help articles that this is now the default action. For me, it usually means that at the end of a session i have to go to my desktop (my optioned destination for downloads) and clean it up by deleting every file I have looked at.

I recommend that you make that functionality optional. I just want to view the vast majority of things I open. For the few that I might want to download after viewing them, i would prefer to take a proactive step to download them after I have reviewed them.

I use/like the randomly-generated 'strong' password feature, but is there a setting/option to have it include one or more special character(s)? So many sites nowadays require one, and VERY few *prohibit* them. I know I can 'substitute' one in there, but I'm VERY lazy! Thanks.

All the icons on the taskbar when I open up Firefox have disappeared... and I now have the same "world" type symbol for everything. I've Googled and followed instructions, but I'm not seeing what the instructions are telling me to look for, so I can't make the changes.

Can you please send me a step-by-step on how to resolve this. I can't even 'open a page in a new tab'. That function has also disappeared.  ?????

I don't know what could have caused this. Would appreciate your help.

So far this year, Firefox updates are causing problems.

Sometimes it updates in the middle of my seeing patients.

It used to give me the option of restoring all tabs. Now it no longer permits that option, so I have to painstakingly go through my recent history and add each needed tab - very time-consuming and annoying. I don't want to switch to Chrome but may have to as I have to use it anyway for sites that don't support Firefox.
