While I am able to log into my Google account in Chrome, I am unable to do so in Firefox after the latest update. Whenever I try, I am redirected to the attached support page, which asks me to delete cookies and cache contents. Deleting those does not help.

Please help!

Not sure I selected the proper category, but I've been coding websites since for longer than I like to admit.. (About 1998 memory serves me right..).. Anyhow, at this point I maintain 3 websites.. Here's one of them: https://www.pbl-sn3.com As you will see there are many pages involved.. I used to able to right click on a photo or graphic and Firefox would tell me what it was, its filename, and even it's size.. But no more.. This was a really handy feature that kept me a Firefox user ever since I discovered Firefox..

Now, instead of right clicking on it (so I can find it easily on my PC using a great little program called "Everything" (see https://www.voidtools.com/ which is amazing in its own right..), I'm stuck viewing the Page Source, finding the file in all the jumble of code, etc. etc. etc... (Yeah, I can right click on the image and open it in a new tab, but it tells me nothing about its SIZE either.. Dang!

So am I the only guy that's ever complained about this? (I recently downloaded Google Chrome which appears to be a less-than-perfect knockoff of Firefox and also lacks this "feature".. But my bank likes it whereas they would no longer allow me to do online banking with Firefox.. A pesky but unrelated issue here, I know..)

Anyhow, if there's a quick fix for my problem, I sure would appreciate a how-to implement it! Thanks for "listening"! - Ol' Bill in California

bookmark bar and all my bookmarks are gone I followed Support instructions, clicked on Manage bookmarks and went nowhere. I really need this function to work as I am sight impaired and can't use my phone for much. Please help.

I found this file on my desktop. File type is Firefox HTML Document. Size 1KB. I've never noticed this before and wonder it I should delete it, move it, or what. Anything to worry about? I haven't opened it.

hi for some reason twitch.tv or some other websites will no longer play videos on my pc and i have no idea why, firefox works fine on my laptop

All images, webm, gif etc. are loading, seemingly, exactly 20% upscaled compared to the real resolution of the media. I'm using a 4k TV (S95B), but I have desktop scaling at 100%, and browser scaling at 100%. I don't believe it's a GPU or OS system wide type setting because windows photo viewer gets pictures right. I'm using ShareX to measure the pixels of pictures. I can even load a local picture in a tab, and it will be upscaled beyond its native resolution. I have no idea why. I've tried a bunch of things, like setting layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 1.0, which did nothing. I've reset Firefox to no avail, and I have noticed that Chrome is doing the same thing, which would usually indicate it could be the OS or GPU driver, but again, other apps load images perfectly normally. Do apps have categories on Windows now, where something like a "browser" can be told to treat media files differently than other media handling categories? I'm really lost at this point, nothing seems to work.

Hello all. Since the update to Version 113.0 I have been getting an error in my Event Viewer which is Event 2 Firefox Default Browser Agent . I am now on Version 113.0.1 and still get this error. Firefox is my default browser. Below is an image of what I see in my Event Viewer and also the full view of the event itself. I seem to not be having any problems with the browser but I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on why this is happening or forward to the Devs.

When I pressed the "+" symbol at the right side of my tabs with the left mouse button, a new tab opens at the most right place. So far, so easy.

When I pressed the same "+" symbol using the middle mouse button, the new tab opened right beside the active tab. Now, middle mouse button and left mouse button do the same thing.

Work around could be to open the context menu (right mouse button) of a tab, choose "new tab" an get a new tab right beside the tab chosen with the mouse pointer while pressing the right mouse button.

Firefox 114 introduced hidden support for nvidia video super resolution. In about:config you can enable preference gfx.webrender.super-resolution.nvidia to make it work. However I see 0 difference on all videos on all pages. I have everything in nvidia control panel set correctly (VSR enabled and set to 4/4 quality).

I tried using logic too - if this pref is related to webrenderer in its name maybe it is not working because I am not using webrenderer? However I checked about:support and in section graphics->composition I have "webrenderer" so it seems I am using it, but its VSR feature is not working at all.

Whenever I attempt to watch something on any streaming service, I get an error message from the streaming service and a note from Firefox saying "The WidevineCdm plugin has crashed." I have tried to solve this problem a number of ways, but have unable to find a solution.

My best guess is the problem is due to the most recent WidevineCdm update, as in the plugins settings the most recent update for the plugin was on 10/21/23, which is shortly before I first noticed the problem. I did test out various streaming platforms on other computer browsers (Chrome and Microsoft Edge) — they gave the same website errors as I got on Firefox, but those browsers did not indicate the cause or suggest which plugin failed. I additionally tested out desktop apps for some of the streaming platforms; they work fine without any issues, but unfortunately the main streaming platform I use doesn't have a desktop app and only works in browser.

My computer is a Lenovo Yoga 9i, it's running Windows 11, and everything is up-to-date.

The methods I have tried to fix this issue with, to no avail: - submitted crash reports - toggling the "play DRM restricted content" options in Firefox, and toggling whether or not the WidevineCdm was activated, closing the browser between each toggle of options - clearing Firefox's cache - running Firefox in troubleshooting mode to make sure it wasn't a different extension interfering with it - tried running Firefox in compatibility mode - tried to find support from the people who made WidevineCdm, but apparently they don't do end-user support - deleting the WidevineCdm manually from the program files for Firefox and Chrome (since Firefox says the plugin is from Google), and then reinstalling it via the chrome components page. This briefly lead to the message on the plugin page that WidevinceCdm would "begin installing shortly." It seemed frozen like that for a good while, but then I tried clicking the "check for updates" and that message disappeared, and it went back to crashing when I tried using a streaming service. - uninstalling both Chrome and Firefox, restarting the computer, then reinstalling both browsers

As far as I can tell, the plugin comes automatically installed in the browser, and there isn't an alternate plugin for decrypting DRM-restricted content. If there's a way to set the WidevineCdm to a previous version before the update that's crashing it, I haven't found it, but I am no expert in computers or coding, and my guess about it being caused by the recent update could be wrong too.

I'm at my wit's end here, any help fixing this problem is greatly appreciated.

I have an issue with Firefox 127 not accepting a session cookie that I use for user authentication. I have an ASP.NET application with a login form that includes fields for login and password, and a submit button. When the button is clicked, an HTTPS/POST request is sent to the server. The server responds and sends back a session cookie named .Cookie.Name with the parameter httpOnly set to true.

When I check in Firefox's Developer Tools under the Network tab, I can see .Cookie.Name in the server response. However, in the Developer Tools under the Storage tab, .Cookie.Name is missing, which prevents the user from logging in. This problem does not occur in other browsers like Chrome or Edge, nor does it occur in Firefox version 126. The configurations for Firefox 126 and 127 are identical.

Could you please assist with this issue?

I know it may sound a bit strange, but I would like to know WHY an extension is not allowed in a private window, so I might understand the reason why I'm not able to diagnose an issue I'm having with fucking amazon who has their cart all over the place for a misconfiguration in firefox that either I did or an extension is causing, however I'm unable to figure out which because I can't enable extensions in private windows, where the issue does not happen, so I'm not able to reproduce and isolate the problem. PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY - Thru Firefox, I use Tineye to find related photos - I use it all the time, it's been great - I always use a VPN and have never had problems until now (as of yesterday). Now it won't search, a verify you're human window comes up, and I have to keep clicking squares, which I do - but then it says to allow cookies and start over. Well I don't want to allow cookies (Firefox-Mozilla kinda encourages using their tools to block cookies, which I much prefer), and I CANT FIND WHERE TO ALLOW (not yelling its just that I said this before and it wasn't noticed) cookies even if I did (I went to Firefox preferences all I could find was under privacy & security cross-site cookies but that did nothing) and I don't want to disable my VPN. Maybe I should mention that I just added or started a Mozilla account, as I have had immense trouble with my aol emails, and am trying to move everything over to a gmail account. My sign in to Firefox was the aol email, and I had to try (I thought I did it) add another account, which I think I did successfully. So it was right after that, that all this started. Help please! I did get the following reply, saying to allow cookies (BUT I DON"T KNOW HOW OR WHERE TO DO IT) and something about a new browser profile and to stay out of my sync account, and I APOLOGIZE, but I have no clue what all that means. What is a broweser profile, what is a sync account and how do I stay out of it? I guess well I know i'm not too smart about this kinda stuff, so I apologize but I think I need detailed step by step what to do to fix this. I know thats a lot of typing, sorry.

I am currently running Firefox on desktop (128.4.0esr) version.

The last few addons that I have installed are not working properly. Or rather, they work just fine, but when I close Firefox and re-open it later, they seem to fail to actually enable. I must go to the about:addons page, disable the addon, and then re-enable it for it to actually work. If I do not do this, it will not be on my toolbar, and the Extensions sidebar button does not show the addon in the list. It's as if it isn't properly installed.

After reading this post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1420017 I thought maybe my extensions db got corrupted somehow, so I followed their instructions and deleted the extensions.databaseSchema config. And wouldn't you know it, it worked! Once I restarted Firefox, I saw some notifications in the main sidebar menu and was greeted with this: Notifications Once I clicked through them and enabled, everything seemed fine.

However after closing firefox again, the problem comes back. Those exact extensions that I manually approved upon restarting are the ones that are giving me troubles and not enabling properly. An interesting thing I noticed is that these all seem to be extensions that require additional permissions. I enabled the addon and gave them the permissions they requested, so I don't know why they are failing to enable properly on startup.

I want to permanently fix the problem

This topic appears to show up a few times, but none of the solutions work for me (e.g. they were using A/V or "it just worked"). The error I get is also different.

This a pretty fresh install (migrating from Chrome so I'm currently re-logging into all my sites to ensure I can access everything I need.. and going through MFA hell heheheheh).

Everything is mostly fine, except for Synchrony Bank.

I go to login at https://auth.synchronybank.com/account/login, enter _any_ username or password (doesn't matter if I enter the right details or the wrong ones), and as soon as I click "sign in" I get an error page

Looking in developer console, the error reason given is NS_ERROR_NET_INTERRUPT while trying to POST to auth.synchronybank.com. Every so often I get PR_IO_TIMEOUT_ERROR but over 90% of the time it's NET_INTERRUPT.

This occurs also in private browsing and also in safe mode. I even created a new profile and tested it from there; same issue.

I've tried lots of things related to this (e.g. setting network.http.http3.enable to false), added the domain to the advanced tracking exception list, and I'm running out of ideas.

I can see traffic flowing to akamai but (it being https) I can't see what's inside the traffic. Could akamai be objecting to something in the content?

FWIW, I can login with Chrome on the same machine.

When switched to mobile hot spot from wifi [and viceversa] Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can. I am facing this issue recently like from a month or so. Before that all working fine. I have already tried the troubleshooting steps from here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can, Still no luck! I have always set my option for all download file types to "Always Ask" and now Firefox not only asks me where I want to save the downloaded file, but also downloads a copy to the Windows Download folder. Why am I getting double downloads? I only want one copy of a downloaded file, not two copies. Now I have to go to my Windows Download folder and delete the duplicate downloaded files. My question is, if my Firefox download option is set for all file types to "Always Ask", then why are you downloading the file twice??? I have specific folders where I want files to reside. I don't want to have to remember to go to my Windows Download folder and delete the duplicate files. How can this duplicate file download problem be fixed?

I just setup this firefox extension to help me manage my 800+ tabs - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/simple-tab-groups/ . This might have even been causing Firefox to crash and my computer to restart, but I'll save that for a separate issue. The extension has some suggested shortcut keys, particularly Ctrl + Backtick and Ctrl + Shift + Backtick to switch between next and previous Tab groups. I tried to go to Manage Extension Shortcuts in settings, and tried to specify the keys Ctr + Backtick, but the input box would not accept the key. In fact it only seems to accept Ctrl + <alpha-numeric> key. or Ctrl + Alt + <alphanum>

Is there anyway to enable this? Most keys like Ctrl + alphabets appears to be already mapped by firefox's default mappings. my Ctrl + numbers are also similarly mapped by another tab extension to switch tabs.
