I'll be honest, I have strong ethical objections to "generative artificial intelligence" (genAI) on a range of issues, and I have seen no sign that the industry is capable of, let alone plans to address any of them. But I'm not here to debate genAI, I'm here because I require a work enviroment and tools that make it as easy as possible, preferably default, to avoid genAI.

I'm deeply disappointed that the Mozilla Organization has decided to add genAI to label tabs in Firefox. Even if I didn't have ethical concerns, I would still be disappointed at the bogged-down performance and genAI hallucinations that make this change categorically a downgrade.

I respect other users right to do things I find harmful, and the Organization's authority to make decisions. I treat genAI much as I treat smoking, everyone gets to make their own choices, but I have the right not to be exposed to second-hand smoke. Having genAI options default to on is like having somone blow smoke in my face, and when they can't be turned off, it is like having an acquaintence who insists on smoking in my home: I won't have them over (use their software) any more.

I'm in the process of kicking the people who smoke in my house out, and minimising my exposure to "second-hand smoke" (unwanted genAI). I've been a Mozilla user and proponent since the Organization was founded, and was a Netscape user before that, so I don't want to lose an old friend... but I am looking into other options.

When I try to open my mail in Yahoo I'm getting the following message" We couldn't load this message. There are no contacts on my list as well. I tried to read my mail on Google and it worked.

I moved to the Firefox flatpack after the Debian version couldn't display the code inspector/ web developer tools anymore (it was blank amid other likely javascript-based rendering errors). I only include this context in case some one else has the issue and searches for it.

I want to sync all my tabs from the Debian version to the flatpack version and similar to this solved issue I cannot access those tabs from the firefox view. However I am also unable to access these tabs from the sidebar. I am only able to access these tabs from the account menu but this would have me open each tab individually which is not feasible for me.

Is there a way to fix the "Check your internet connection If you’re using a firewall or proxy, check that Firefox has permission to access the web." error that comes up in both the Tabs from other devices sidebar and Firefox View menu?

When I use the search engine it will not open and says "Hmm we're having trouble finding that site". My Bookmarks all work and open fine but i cannot search anything?

I'm setting up a new computer, (Windows 11). Currently on a home WIFI network, in UTAH, with another computer, (windows 10). Very soon the new computer will be moving to my retirement home, in Nevada, on a new WIFI network.

Basically, How can I import Firefox bookmarks from another computer that is on the same WIFI network?

i dont want to update because of ai. i am tired of updates in the name of security that change how program works. i do not plan to update anymore. i do not want ai to know my name. i dont want to click it away every day. i am tired of your update popup. tired of clicking it away ten times a day. you want to synch to my contacts. dont know why' certainly dont want it to synch, dont even use my calander but you want it to synch also. why? i came to you for a browser. do you have a secure browser that is just a browser? can you help me stop the update popup or tell me a browser that is not ai.

Since upgrading to Windows 10, I can only access my Yahoo email using Microsoft Edge. When I try to access in Firefox or Google Chrome, my access is denied. I've tried clearing cookies, browser history, rebooting my router, etc. Any ideas I can try?

I have contacted Microsoft. After testing the link/page loads in Edge, Chome (with and without addins same in ff) and Brave. But does not load in FF (with addon's disabled) nor in Private browsing FF (no addins obviously) they said to reach out to FireFox for support. I tried in edge (regular, not private) and it plays the stupid slideshow with music just fine, and I can get out of it and view the regular memory page that I want (Music really!? As of Updating to 142.0.1 (64 bit, Windows 10) yesterday, the Home Page / New Tab page now has DOZENS of RECOMMENDED STORIES under different Topics, instead of the former more compact and manageable grid or 15 or 18 items.

Under SETTINGS - HOME - RECOMMENDED STORIES it seems you can only toggle RECOMMENDED STORIES ON or OFF.

On the Home / New Tab page itself, you can only Select whether to FOLLOW or BLOCK Topics. The page is now TOO LONG and much TOO BUSY and not worth endlessly Scrolling to find the two or three articles of possible interest.

QUESTION: Where is, or Why is there Not, an Option for the former "Legacy" RECOMOMENDED STORIES? The Alternative is to turn RECOMMENDED STORIES OFF - which defeats the purpose of supporting your News or Advertisers to Support MOZILLA.

The Display Options for SHORTCUTS offers choices of 2 rows, 3 rows, etc ... Why Not an Option for RECOMMENDED STORIES limiting to a fixed number as well ?

When I try to login to Facebook I can't and a screen appears with

"Sorry! Something went wrong :(

This happens even in Troubleshooting Mode …

Exactly the same issue with DuckDuckGo browser but no difficulties with Safari where I can login to Facebook as usual …
