Hi,

I'm on an a pretty old Linux Xubuntu pc, but with the latest FireFox. In a profile I regularity use I unchecked the Title Bar checkbox in the Customize Toolbar screen, but then FF crashed and I can't get that profile opened again. I can still open other profiles (because I still use the old-fashioned profile manager and don't need to go into about:profiles), but when I open that particular profile, after some hangups, I only get FF in the taskbar, but no screen opens so I can't change the setting back again.

Is there a file in the profile folder I can edit or something like that to enable the Title Bar option again to see if that profile wants to open normally again?

In case that's not possible I can copy that particular profile into a new profile, but then I will undoubtedly also copy the title bar setting, which I don't want. So can I copy the profile except for the one file with that setting and use the file from the new profile instead? What file would that than be?

I hope someone can help me out. Thanks in advance for any help.

For the past week Firefox has been opening Youtube in dark when for the last decade I've been using light. Every time I change to light it works for that tab, if I open a new tab and load Youtube it opens in dark appearance. When I change to light and then click my avatar in the top right of Youtube it's still states I'm in dark when it's in light.

Why doesn't the light appearance stay? I've cleared cookies and that doesn't seem to work. It's also specific to Firefox, this doesn't happen in Microsoft Edge.

So I have the tab bar hidden in 1.08. I have it going to self made userChrome.css file. This is the only thing in that file:

Issue is now I have no close button along with the other usual buttons with it. So what do I need to mod in that file to get them back?

Thanks

This issue needs to be corrected as it is causing problems.

As you will see from the attached acreenshots, when a file wants to be downloaded, I get the expected Ask options and even though I selected Open with Adobe it still downloads the file.

Picture 1 shows the options, picture 2 shows the file open in Adobe, picture 3 shows it downloaded to my PC and picture 4 shows that I selected Always ask you where to save files so why is the file still downloading.

It creates a nuisance as I only want to open most files and if I decide to save them, I can do that so why is Firefox still saving files whether I want to or not !?!

Now I have to go to the file, delete it and empty the recycle bin for security reasons so this issue needs to be resolved as it used to work fine in previous version of Firefox.

Maybe there is a setting that I need to change so any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated.

I am currently running Firefox 109.0 (64-bit) on Windows 10, Version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.2486).

Thanks.

I have run Firefox for years on up to 4 PCs at once, everything has always synced and screens all look the same. Recently one laptop lost the addon extension icons in the Firefox toolbar. They remain on all other installations. I have tried uninstalling Firefox and installing an earlier build, and also the latest Beta build with no luck. All extensions show as installed and activated. I have copied the Profile from another laptop. I have of course done a reset. Any other suggestions?

My extensions take up a lot of space in my toolbar and I'd love to hide all of them. However - every 'solution' to the problem tells me to right click the extension straight from the toolbar and click 'Hide from Toolbar'.

I do remember this option existing, however I couldn't find it since last update and I'm assuming it was removed. Is there any way to use it again?

^ (Small note, It would also be lovely if I could add them to the Extensions add-on in the toolbar, as that would really be a better use for it other than overflow)

I asked this a couple of years ago - ! But the problem apparently is BAAAAACCCKKKK.....

In my list of bookmarks I have inserted SEPARATOR lines. I cannot find how to delete a separator line. There doesn't seem to be any up to date information online about how to handle this - can someone help?

In the previous fix I would click the three-line icon at top right and to into MANAGING BOOKMARKS, where there was a way to see the list, and I could click on and delete any separator lines I wanted to remove.

Apparently in the newest version of FF this no longer works. Now when I go to Manage Bookmarks, there is a list of my bookmarks, but I don't see any of the separator lines.

I'd be truly grateful for help - thank you in advance.

Hello, The controls in Settings to choose how Firefox updates have disappeared from Settings / General? The "Firefox Updates" section is supposed to appear there, based on:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enable-background-updates-firefox-windows https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-options-preferences-and-settings?as=u&utm_source=inproduct#search

This is on V109. I really need to be able to choose when an update goes in, Python / Jupyter applications I have running on Firefox can cost me hours of time to re-run if Firefox goes in and restarts itself when it wants to. I used to be able to control this. Has it really been removed, or is somewhere else and the docs not updated yet? Thanks Neil

The latest update added persistent "More Tools" and "Extensions" icons on the top right of Firefox. Usually, by clicking "Customize Toolbar" I could remove any annoying icon that I don't want to persistently see, but it would seem that Firefox DISABLED the ability to remove these annoying icons. While I can click on the extensions button circled in the screenshot to access them, I can't move those extensions to the toolbar directly. When I search for this issue online, everyone says to use the customize firefox menu to add what I want, but as you can see in the picture - no extensions are listed there, although they are installed and functioning. Very weird because my other install, which is up to date, has this set as default and it has been forever. I'm bewildered. Any suggestions? Thanks

What idiot thought it would be a great idea to replace "View Image" with "Open Image In New Tab"? Seriously? What the fracking hell. I used View Image all the time with a combination of Ctrl W to close tabs after saving images in bulk. Now you've deleted View Image to replace it with something dumber. Perhaps instead of replacing it, you should have altered its functionality to open a new tab if someone's holding Shift when they click it. Did you ever think of that? No, you were probably thinking about how to make Firefox worse. Ugh, why is firefox getting worse and worse with time? You guys keep taking away features and deliberately ruining the firefox experience, pretty soon its just gonna be another dumbed down clone of Chrome, the browser for the lower intellect. "Oh shame, too many buttons? Let us dumb it down for you. Configurations too complex? Here, we'll stupify it for you~ Its ok to be an ape level intelligence~"

You should be teaching people to be smarter, not bowing to their lower intellectual capabilities.

Now I've had to get a plugin to bring back the view image feature and this plugin actually does it better than you ever could have. Maybe its Mozilla thats getting dumber and not the rest of the world. Maybe their developers are losing intellect so they have to dumb down their own program so they can manage it. Who knows. I'm starting to suspect this.

Yea, I'm angry. You keep ruining Firefox.

Why arent the settings working?!
