Recently a "gear" icon has appeared on the bottom left of my screen while using Mozilla. It relates to moving the tabs. I don't want to do anything with my tabs. How can I get rid of the icon? The icon reduces the horizontal screen space available. I have a small laptop so this small amount of space is important.

I'm suddenly having a problem where images don't save as .jpg unless I add that myself. At first, it wanted to save images as WebP, but I was able to fix that in the about:config. Now when I go to save an image, it wants to save as Chrome HTML document and I have to click all files and then add .jpg.

I use Dashlane as an extension in android Firefox on my Acer Swift GO 16 laptop. I use my fingerprint to log into the laptop but in the security settings in the Firefox Dashlane extension I see the message: "Your browser does not support biometrics. To use this feature, install the Dashlane extension using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge." I prefer to use Firefox.

Why is the option to use Biometrics (fingerprint in this case) not available?

I have organized my bookmarks into various directories & sub-directories. On occasion, these directories &/or sub-directories 'migrate' if I'm not precise with my cursor movements. Is there a search function I can use without having to go through each directory/sub-directory one-by-one?

Hi, I opened Firefox to continue with my work, just to get greeted with a 'start a new profile' page. All my profiles, saved data, history, add-ons and customization, were discconected/removed. Even on my phone it logged me out from my account- logging back in doesnt retrieve my history from my previous sessions on my desktop device.

I tried logging in to my account, checking if theres an 'old firefox' folder on my device or anything like that, but it did not retrieve any of my old data.

Just to clarify, I have not played around with my settings, left or deleted anything, so I really dont understand why I've just came back to nothing.

Was wondering why this happened, how do I know this won't happen in the future, and if, when possible, how can i get all my data back?

I read the existing articles and followed them, starting with "manage bookmarks". When I click on restore, there is a list of the last 15 backups by date. EVERY one of them results in an error message "unable to process the file".

Manually searching for bookmarks.html or json, resulted in nothing found at first. Then I discovered the path to the bookmarks folder were all hidden folders (after the 'user' folder). I got them to display in file explorer ('show hidden files' selected) and tried to manually select the JSON files that way, to restore bookmarks. That also did not work, resulting in the same message depicted below.

I am using Windows 11. everything was fine Thursday the 12th but I did not use the computer at all on the 13th. Updates required a restart this morning. Now when I try to load Firefox and unlock Roboform I get an internal error message - unknown function call.

While this may sound silly, it does happen that I add bookmarks, but I might rush and forget to update/change the bookmark folder/path where to save it when I am in a hurry (and the page might end up saved, but not in a location I want, say, a news article that should be saved in "News" might end up in a "Development" bookmark path or vice-versa, depending on which path I last used to bookmark a page), or even forget where I saved it (if I did it some time ago for a "read/use/check/update later" type of thing and it is a generic article - and yes, I even have a "TODO" bookmark "directory").

While the Bookmarks windows dos have a search option (thank god!), it doesn't also show where I saved said bookmark (so that I can move, delete or do whatever to it). So please, in the Bookmarks window also add a column with the path where it is saved (obviously hidden by default), along with the URL, name, visit count, etc. I am sure code-wise, the effort is negligible, but it can help so much.

I open up firefox and the message appears - you must be signed into this network in order to access the internet. BUT i can use the internet. This is not a problem on a W10 machine which I also use.

I am unable to sign in due to Firefox reporting ISP FFL website security certificate being revoked. I do not remember my password to try another browser. Please help

The sound works for me on Opera (PC Win11), but not on Mozilla - I see it as a bug in the browser... even after clicking on the playback device in the bottom right corner in Mozilla, the sound doesn't start playing...

ive built a new pc and have a flashing program popup every 10min. upon assistance from a really good pc guy, we've found its a firefox default browser agent with a long code.

its not listed in my scheduled tasks, eyt runs every 10min. only thing close to firefox would be thrunderbird, but iirc, mozilla and thunderbird are not longer the same company. either way. i need this thing to stop running every 10min.

Windows 11 : Fix this ASAP I delete all tabs, close firefox, reopen and I get 5 tabs which seem to be STUCK. I delete 3 of these tabs, go about my work, none of those 3 are open, and I shut everything down. When I reopen Firefox, those 5 "default tabs" (the 3 I don't want have migrated over from I don't know were - both Chrome and Edge open with New Tab.)

I have enough other problems in my life - and done't tell me to create a new profile. At that point I'll kill firefox and end my donations to Mozilla.

Why is every company from Microsoft, Google and Firefox so obsessed with changing how I have my devices set up? I do not want all the extra feed as I open the browser. Every time the browser is opened there is so many more added shortcuts to my main screen. That is super annoying when I already had in place the shortcuts I wanted. I have gone through multiple times to dismiss the ones Firefox had added to the shortcuts. But new ones just keep popping up in the shortcuts. I have also blocked all the advertisements such as sports, fit health, politics and many more that is offered that I do NOT want. It crowds up space and is VERY distracting to my homework assignments. I just started using this browser because my college recommended that I install it to my laptop because Microsoft does not support 100% of their programming requirements. I wish the settings to find this would be easier and more available to the average Joe who is not familiar when changing browser settings. Plus it switch my mouse buttons. When I have always used the Left click on the mouse to select the word that needed to be modified auto correct spelling... now it is set for the Right click of the mouse. Why does every company feel the need to completely modify other peoples stuff? Same thing with my TV connected to the WI-FI. Ads are always popping up, modifying TV preferences, moving apps around on the main screen. Every time I power up it has a new screen. Its honestly disgusting. The world around us is always changing... can our personal home lives be left alone with our preferred preferences? With out major companies thinking "Heeyyy we can make that better!" without asking from the consumer! It would be nice to have the option when powered on asking "We have a new product, would you like to try it?" allow us to select yes or no! Or just fix the old stuff that had glitches... but nah we going to keep pushing forward and annoy everyone to fill our pockets! I am NOT pleased with the product that has been recommended to me.
