Since update to version 145.0 I cannot send messages, when sending I get this message "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: <*******@shaw.ca> sender rejected AUP#POL. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again". Nothing has changed with account settings. Same problem on another machine that updated to 145.0. Any ideas what is broken?

I have Firefox set to use the built-in .pdf viewer to avoid Adobe's intrusive AI features. I have disabled Adobe's AI features in the Acrobat settings, that does not seem to apply when Firefox opens the Acrobat reader. Consequently, I have to fight off AI "suggestions" and offers of help when I simply want to read a document from the web.

So I set Firefox to use the built-in reader. After 1-2 seconds, it switched to Adobe, and brings up all the annoying AI features. How can I keep Firefox from switching to Adobe?

As a test, I renamed Acrobat.exe to AcrobatX.exe. Firefox behavior did not change. I also killed all Acrobat-related tasks in Task Manager. My document still displayed in Acrobat after 1-2 seconds, but none of the Acrobat-related tasks reappeared in the Task Manager.

I am using Firefox 145.0.2 64 bit in Windows 11 with all updates current.

Many thanks for advice.

I have been using Firefox for years, in the early days it was easy to use. It has now become so complicated, so full of jargon, that I dread getting one your improved features notices. While the graphics are pretty, the explanations of features are so full of your jargon and/or so imbedded in other unexplained actions, that I get lost almost immediately. Even trying to get help is near impossible, you check boxes about help and it goes in circles. Look at this page, there is a box which has in it "Search questions, articles or top". I can not discern what is supposed to be entered here, am I searching for questions? Asking questions? Looking for articles (about what?), submitting an article, do I want to top something???? or what? I hovered over an initial in the upper right, which had a little red ball in the corner. Up comes a page full of symbols, without explanations, without explanation..My Questions? the number 1 in a red ball, an X below the letter in a circle with the red ball. The author must expect that everyone would understand this, but I do not.

I do not know how you user test features, but it seems like you must be using sophisticated users, who therefore are expected to be highly skilled in the current system and thus can appreciate new features. IT seems clear to me that beginners and more casual users are not the target.

Just look at this page, Above this box there are Bold and italic symbols, including one looking like a chain link, but it is not obvious. Then there are two sets of three lines, which when you hover over them they have definitions :number list and bulleted list. Now, I have no idea what is the intended use of these symbols, how to use them,so here I am on a help page that is already confusing.

I do not see an easy solution, as the evolution of Firefox has gone so far, there is no going back to simplicity, and clarity of language. One thing that might help would be a step through process, in which a user wants to do something and the program goes step by step, hand holding the whole way.

I've been trying to remedy a "forgotten password" problem on a site I visit from time to time (King Arthur Baking), and keep getting an "opt out signal honored" message. What does this mean, and how do I change it so I can solve the problem?

Hi folks, I am new here. I wonder if someone could help me solve a new problem which may or may not have anything to do with Firefox itself. Let me explain: a month ago or so, I was running Firefox, and my HP laptop, 64-bit, running Win11, told me I needed to run a new update from Microsoft for my Windows. I forgot that I was running Firefox, and started the update. I live on the West coast of Florida, where there is a lot of lightning... So, right in the middle of the Windows update, lightning took out cable and internet, stopping (interrupting) the update download. The whole neighborhood was affected. Later, when internet service was restored, I re-started the Windows update. Now here's the weird thing: every minute or so, no matter what is or is not running, even before I log into my desktop with my PIN, all of a sudden an old image from a previous Firefox session, complete with tabs, pops up. It then cycles through more images, until I hit the enter button, or tap the pad, or hit escape, exiting the image. It even goes away temporarily if I move the cursor, so trying to X out does not work. A little later, it pops back up. I'm working on a novel, and it is frustrating, because this interruption derails my thought train, complete with caboose. Also, one of the images (static) is my bank page. This spooks me... Please help, someone -- anyone? Ahead of time, thank you!

Be nice. Our volunteers are Mozilla users just like you, who take the time out of their day to help.

Be descriptive. Saying “playing video on YouTube is always choppy” will help us understand the issue better than saying “something is wrong” or “the app is bro ken”.

Follow through. Sometimes, our volunteers would ask you for more information or to test out certain scenarios. The sooner you can do this, the sooner they would know how to fix it.
