FF recently updated itself to 100.0.1 and since this time I have been unable to install any addons. Every time I try to install an addon, I receive the message 'Installation aborted because the add-on appears to be corrupt.' I have uploaded a screenshot which demonstrates this behaviour. This is just an example - all addon installations are affected. My existing addons are unaffected, but if I remove one and attempt to reinstall it, the same result occurs.

It appears after another update, the apps I have set to open file types have all reverted back to download. I would just change them back, but most of the file types are missing as well so i have to resave them using the cumbersome download and then open all similar steps each time I want to open something until all the file types are saved again. Then an update happens and JPEGS and Excel files are no longer on the list. Why is this happening? Do I have something set wrong or does someone at Firefox think this is a good idea for some reason? Thanks,

Hello,

i recently want to check something in Firefox and noticed that in about:third-party where some modules were installed. I have no knowledge about these kind of stuff. There were like up to 10 modules with the sign that there were not signed.

So I wanted to check it on the next day. But these modules disappeared now.

The questions are: Is it normal that these modules disappear? Is it normal that some module are unsigned?

I notices that the modules come and go, depands on the Websites. Is it a common behaviour?

The most important one: Is there a way to trace die non-listed modules? Maybe in the Firefox Data or something?

Thanks for help!

Hi!

So I switched from Chrome, and there is one thing that keeps annoying me: the homepage and new window behavior.

In Chrome, you could define your pages that load when first launching the browser, but when you open a new window, it would default back to an empty page. This is the behavor that I want.

In Firefox, I only found the solution with setting the browser.startup.page option to 0, so new windows open with a blank page while you could still edit your homepages. But here, I would have to click the homepage button each time I initially start the browser. This is quite annoying, since it would always be an extra step when launching the browser.

Could anyone help me get the behavior like in Chrome? I want Firefox to open my homepages on startup, but use empty pages when it's already open.

I am trying to set the mailto content type in the General --> Application section, but I get no search result when searching for it. Has that content type been removed from Fx100?

(I have the email client I want, Thunderbird, presumably since that is set in Windows to handle email. But I need a screenshot of the Settings page for a support KB article I am translating Change the program used to open email links.

I cannot install English GB dictionary for my spell checker. When I click add dictionaries it takes me to a page where I can select Englsih GB as one of the dictionaries available in my locale. Ok so I have posted this question a few times with help, but with no resolution. When I open FF I like it to open maximized. But every time it does open it opens in half or small window, if I hold the pointer over the maximize window it will give me the option to open it maximized. but then the same thing happens the next time I open it. It never remembers my preference. I have changed the code in settings to default and had some success with that, by what I mean it will open maximized once but then go right back to half or minimized the next time I open it. I have included a pic of the way it opens when launched. No matter what I do (stretching it, resize it, delete reinstall FF) nothing seems to work. Any thoughts

Hi,

Its about time you looked at your Mic cam Cam settings

I'm getting older, they should be set as on as Default, and switched to off if required

This is a massive issue to a great part of the community I don't use Firefox as I used to, as so many of my clients are also moving away, ( Gone to different platforms to Edge and Chrome) I'm sure this can be easily fixed.

Using firefox in linux mint 19.3 mate. Until firefox 97, I could control the size and color of the firefox scrollbars with a system CSS. Since a firefox update to version 98, firefox ignores those settings. Nothing has changed in my firefox settings, my about:config, or system settings. But now the scrollbars are barely visible low contrast narrow bars that are unpleasant to work with, and I can't figure out how to change this. suggestions? tnx

I am NOT a fan of this relatively new Full-screen mode at all unless I initiate it when watching a movie or in very few other instances. I don't like any device second-guessing or anticipating what I need to do and when or if it needs to do this for me. It has caused me more problems than it has helped, and injected some frustrating delays getting what I want done due to the added need and interruption of being paused to constantly press F11 again and again. It's not second nature and at this point, I don't think it will be. I don't need or want this feature and I don't understand this new world where features have to be nailed down and locked now with the "like it or lump it" mentality without option to remove or disabled this? (Sorry, I don't like MS Edge either, and not only for this reason!) I would be happy to go back to a previous version of Firefox that is without this feature, if this is the only answer. I'm hoping it is not?

There was a previous very brief post on here that directed users to go to about:config and set full-screen-api.enabled to false in order to disable this feature, but no one positively confirmed that it worked and the thread was closed. This doesn't appear to be working for me with the most current version of Firefox.

Is there someone who can help give me peace in my life again by showing me how to disable this permanently and forever? I know about F11 and don't ever want to have to press it again! I would appreciate any help, and you might even make my Christmas list if it works?

Thanks!
