Lately, after last firefox update, whenever I start Firefox, it loads normally but when I click to open a website it freezes with a not responding message. I have waited for 10 minutes before and never responds. Even opening in troubleshooting mode it won't respond.

An 8 second delay when I open Firefox for the first time.. Once it has been opened once, it reopens immediately when required. The problem has been present since I installed Linux Mint 9 months ago, Linux Mint 22.2 then, since upgraded to 22.3 Zena. I can live with it, but it is very frustrating! I have tried the obvious things like removing extensions, but I suspect it is a "Linux" connectivity problem rather than a "Mozilla" problem.

When I opened Firefox this morning, it downed the newest version.

Since then it becomes nearly impossible to use, locking up after a few minutes.

Are you aware? Is this being fixed? Can I go back one version? I used Windows 10, is that the issue?

I get REAL tired by the amount of resources Firefox eats up with each open window. For whatever reason, having multiple windows open prevents Facebook from loading. I'll get 1 story and a "shorts" bar but THAT'S IT. Even clicking the story to rate or comment does nothing. If I start to delete windows; it will decrease the memory usage and then it will open.

However, I DO NOT WANT TO CLOSE MY WINDOWS IN ORDER TO OPEN FACEBOOK! Firefox should not be eating up that many resources. The open windows are of text and/or picture archives. There is no sound or video playing in the multiple windows open. My system literally has 128 gigs of ram memory so it seems very odd to me that Firefox is using between 11-13% with nothing running in the 15 windows I have open.

My mouse (wheel) only works on the portion of the page that is currently visible; it will not scroll down the rest of the page. This problem began after 151.0.1 update just a few days ago. It works correctly in other applications such as word or excel. It also works correctly with other browsers, so it is definitely something in Firefox. Any ideas?

I am on a MacBook Air M3/8GB ram. I was really wanting to use Firefox due to your stance on privacy, etc. but here is my experience:

Yes, I keep a lot of tabs open - I do try to group them and hope that tabs in closed groups are deactivated, but I don't know this at all.

If I use Firefox all will seem well until my machine sleeps. On waking, it is excruciatingly slow - we are talking multiple seconds to even switch tabs or get the cursor to be "hot" when filling a form. Upon trying to quit (restarting being the usual first step), FF will ask confirmation and then close the windows, but will not completely quit, requiring me to force-quit. On restart it seems to behave again, at least for a while.

While I do see some evidence that others have this issue (memory leak?) there are no real methods or answers as to how, if at all, to fix this. It took a lot to get everything on FF working the way I like after leaving Chrome, but I really can't deal with this, and I think I will be looking at switching again - I guess to Safari.

I would love to know how to fix this, but really I don't imagine this is due to my system as much as the FF browser. That said, if you ahve any ideas, I would be open.

The complete page I'm looking at, blurs when my desk top page changes. When I mouse over the page the blur clears up just under my mouse. Now you might want to focus on desktop but changing taps also cause a blur. When I say blur i am talking the hole page. I'm using Arial and have ran clear text on both monitors it all so seem worst when I used the new side tab load. Never had an issue on older fox loads. Submitting from my laptop not from affected computer.

power up and get previous home page with bookmarks page from prior session. cannot delete page using 'x' upper right. cursor not effective . I have to click on firefox logo to start a new session. Note the old display comes up at each login. Cannot delete I must overlay. Please help. Greg

I am having a problem with Firefox on Linux Mint. Firefox has completely stopped responding. Even the buttons like close, back, refresh, or menu do not work. The whole browser has become frozen. Shutting down or restarting the system doesn't work.

I am facing a recurring issue while browsing websites on Firefox. This happened even before the latest upgrade. Only it is worse after this last software upgrade.

After using the browser for 1–2 minutes, the browser gets stuck or becomes unresponsive. While scrolling through websites, the full page does not load properly, and parts of the webpage suddenly become blank. In many cases, the existing tab cannot even be refreshed. I have to close the program, wait a few minutes and reopen. Very frustrating. I have been using Firefox for many years and this is the most unstable I have ever seen it. I'll be on a page, maybe Facebook, the NYTimes, Amazon, or really any site, and suddenly I find I can no longer scroll, or otherwise navigate the page. I usually have to refresh the page, not so great an option, if I was in the middle of doing something, and and then it'll work OK. I shouldn't have to be doing that, and wonder why pages will just freeze up like this.

I've done recent updates (May 2026) and after having 3 updates in recent months, I still have difficulties with my video programs (both Zoom and "One-click) slowing down during my work which is 100% virtual. How can I revert to an earlier version where this was resolved, please!!??

MacOS, M2 2023, fully up to date firefox.

Sometimes I'm using firefox and it just stops loading pages, internet is fine. Other browsers work. I look at my activity monitor and nearly 100% of my 32GB of ram is being consumed by various firefox processes. A lot of those processes seem to be associated with youtube. This problem usually, but not always, is resolved by restarting firefox. But this shouldn't be happening. I have a lot of tabs open sometimes, but it's not that excessive. And most certainly not 32GB worth and preventing my computer from doing a google search.

If there's a debugging thing I can do to post system logs, let me know and I'll post them next time this happens. I'll be away from my computer until early July, so around that time.
