I always have opened eBay login page in a Container, as you can see in the screenshot (purple bar). Somehow, eBay still knows it's me (upper left corner), and doesn't ask for my username, as they already have/know it. How can this be when Containers are supposed to empty all cookies upon closing?

Hi, I'm trying to disable the "restore previous session including tabs" after crash feature.

I've disabled the "Restore previous session" check from the general configuration panel.

I've changed the following values from the about:config panel: browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes = 0 browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash = false

However after a restart or shutdown, Firefox still shows up the tabs from the previous session.

I'm using Ubuntu 18.04 OS.

Could someone please help me with this?

Perhaps this feature is useful for some people, but for me it's extremely annoying; plus I really like Firefox and don't wanna change browsers.

Thanks!

When I use my McAfee anti-virus full protection software to remove trackers, all trackers are removed from my browsers (Microsoft edge, chrome, etc) except for Mozilla Firefox. I always have 222 trackers not removed from my Firefox browser after every cleaning. Gosh even chrome does a better job than Mozilla Firefox. This is getting really creepy. Anyone's assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, we have encountered with the CSP issue in Firefox:

We have the following CSP <meta> tag in our application:

<meta http-equiv="Content-Security-Policy" content="default-src 'self';

                  script-src  'self' 'unsafe-eval';
                  style-src 'self' 'unsafe-inline';
                  base-uri 'self';
                  frame-src 'self';
                  media-src 'self';
                  navigate-to 'self';
                  form-action 'self';
                  object-src 'none';
                  connect-src 'self'">

As you see, we did not specified 'unsafe-inline' nor in script-src, nor in default-src. Which means that inline scripts like <script>alert(1)</script> should not be allowed to execute. But it still works in Firefox and we get an alert popup.

In Chrome and Edge the policy works fine, and blocks the script execution.

Please assist on the issue.

With respect, Victorz

Firefox 86.0b2, Windows 10 build 19041

I browse in permanent private mode, strict enhanced security.

When I logout of gmail, the permissions icon appears in the Site Info panel, image attached. When I choose X, the icon disappears; it says "a refresh might be necessary". When i refresh, the icon is back. No google cookie is listed in "Cookies and site data"

I refreshed firefox, reapplied my preferences. Problem persists.

I first noticed it this afternoon; it does not happen with Firefox 85, same privacy settings.

Is there something I can do to change this behaviour?

Thanks.

I got emailed a password reset link from a third-party website but I keep getting told my new password is too long, even when I create one with two keystrokes.

I suspect the problem may be Firefox remembered the old password and is reinserting it. I've gone to settings and disabled Save Logins and Passwords but the problem persists.

In an answer to this question: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1318109#answer-1376159 cor-el warned that using OS authentication (like TouchID on a Mac with Touchbar) for passwords instead of a Primary Password is actually not really safe because apparently it doesn't encrypt logins in logins.json and it would be possible to extract them by running: prompt("Logins",JSON.stringify(Services.logins.getAllLogins())); Now I am a bit worried and confused because for storing Credit Cards the default is, of course, using OS authentication (I don't think there's an option to set a password instead). Is that safe, i.e., is the credit card information encrypted (even without a Primary Password)?

And if so, would anybody be able to explain the differences between these two approaches and why it's not possible to use OS authentication with logins/passwords in a safe way but it is with Credit Cards?

My solar inverter, on my local wi-fi network, has an http:// web page for accessing graphs, stats and settings.

Firefox 85.0 (64-bit) will not allow me to access this device, always changing http: to https:, without giving me the option to 'accept the risk and continue', only 'Try again'. I cannot find any way to get around this and access the device.

In the FF options, I have "Don’t enable HTTPS-Only Mode" selected, but it is obviously not working.

How can I access my inverter's web pages?

Thanks, Daniel

After updating to version 85.0 Firefox refuses to connect to some ports that are used in my private network. It shows this message:

"This address uses a network port which is normally used for purposes other than Web browsing. Firefox has cancelled the request for your protection."

These ports have been working successfully for five years. They still work in other browsers.

I found old resolutions for similar issues, using "about:config" but it seems they do not apply to this version.

Neither can I find anything in the Options UI to turn off such feature.

Is this done deliberately or an unfortunate mistake?

As a privacy-conscious person, I find some of Firefox's new features disturbing.

Bad enough that Firefox can share my clipboard with sites (hopefully disabled by setting dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled to FALSE).

But I've learned that Firefox can now capture my screen and share that with sites! What a privacy nightmare - one bug and the entire world sees my most personal documents! And if I had a microphone or camera plugged in, Firefox could share that too!

Please could someone tell me what is the most absolute, thorough way to disable these horrible features at the top level, so that they could NEVER be allowed to operate, not even by a bug?
