How can I disable these shortcuts when I'm on a tab with a video or any media? I tried searching for it and can only find how to disable those Hardware media keys and didn't work for my problem. I use my up and down arrow keys when scrolling a website. But whenever there's a video it would not scroll up & down but instead changes the volume of the video. Any suggestions about it? Thanks

Hi I have installed Adobe Acrobat.

I launch Firefox - click 'Alt' - choose 'Tools' - choose 'Add-ons and themes' - I choose 'Extensions'. Adobe Acrobat is not show anywhere i.e. not under 'Recommended Extensions'.

I have opened Settings - General - Applications and change Portable Document Format (PDF) to 'Use Adobe Acrobat'

Still, Adobe Acrobat doesn't show up as an alternative under 'Extensions'.

Why is this? What am I doing wrong?

Best regards Jan

Hi all,

I was using the firefox devtools, and found that the "Edit and Resend" will change http to https automatically on some sites.

I have tried some other sites, and they works well. However this changing happens every time on this site.

This site could not be loaded via https, and definitely has no redirection from http to https, and as you can see from the image, there is only one failed request sent.

I'm using the Multi-Account Containers add-on, and I really love it! Great job!

My question is that I've observed a weird and annoying behavior. I use the built-in Shopping container when I'm, well, shopping. It's mostly Amazon, but sometimes it's other things. I sync between 3 computers, and they all generally stay in sync. I've noticed that the Shopping Container sometimes disappears. Then, a little while later, it reappears, and every time it does that, none of the websites (i.e. Amazon) that I was signed-in to are still signed-in. It's like the container automatically deletes itself and all of its history and cookies, and then starts over again a half hour later or so. I've even had it happen while using the container! Several times, right in the middle of shopping, the container has just disappeared, and it's gone on all 3 computers I sync with. Then it shows back up a half hour or so later. Every day I have to re-login to Amazon in the Shopping container, so I'm guessing it happens every day and I just may not notice it all the time.

Is this unusual? Am I the only one this happens to?

Thanks for the help.

Greetings , does FF use webview2 ? I am working on Windows11 with webview2 msEdge and PureBasic . But having difficulty getting proper support . I am building a freeware Kidsafe-Browser , that utilizes a File of Trusted Sites . Everything works great except when I come to youtube.com . For youtube , I would like to capture the URL when on-page-link is clicked . But can't get the support to finish this last step . https://www.purebasic.fr/english

So I am wondering , does FF have something similar to Windows msEdge webview2 that will allow a programmer to interact with Browser progress ?

Thanks for your help...

when i use the URL box as a search box, and it gets selected, the background turns dark dark grey -- can't read what's under it (to see what i selected/want to copy) or type in (what i'm searching for). AND when that box offers options, the links come in the most awful blue-green I've ever seen. Tried to change the color by command -- no luck. and it's not reading "use system colors" which it did before.

This is an utter crap preset MAC OS Ventura

Hello, I use ubuntu on my M$ surface go2 tablet, and I wonder, if it's possible to enable video touch control (HTML5 player) on video sites other than youtube, like I have in android or chromeOS. On Android this option works always. On ChromeOS doesn't work in privacy mode (no idea why, there is no addons or extensions, just pure firefox.

I know ther is option in PiP option, but is it possible to use just double tap on screen instead of small buttons? (now double tap turns on and off full screen).

Hi, i'm a new firefox user and I've looked online for the last hour looking for a fix, but nothing. I have 2 monitors and when I click from one to the other or alt + tab, all my tabs become darkened, from white to having faded / being much darker, I'd want to not have that, is there a way?

Example of not darked darkened / faded tabs / darkened:

The netflix, giazo, imdb and youtube tab is not darkened. (not alt tabbed or clicked on second monitor). The other one is darkened, alt tabbed, clicked on second monitor.

I also posted on reddit, since i can't add more pictures, for better understanding, I will share here. Thank you.

What would it take for Mozilla to offer a version of Firefox without permanently built-in plugins and/or extensions, and just offer them by selection upon installation, or offer a a registry editor program to add and/or remove them, or simply a paid-for version without them? A paid for browser that could be configured the way a person wants it would be worth the cost of such a browser.

examples of plugins and/or extensions desired to be permanently removed:

Amazon.com Bing DuckDuckGo eBay Firefox Screenshots Form Autofill Google Wikipedia

Refreshing does not work. Disabling does not work as they are enabled after another update, upgrade or by accessing your Firefox account.

Many years ago, M$ was sued for making Internet Explorer an integral part of the operating system yet is being allowed to do the same with Edge today. Just as back then, the browser cannot be permanently uninstalled from Windows, unlike with a Linux OS. Example: Mint will work perfect without the automatically installed Firefox browser should a user want to have a different browser. However, since undesired plugins and/or extensions can be permanently removed, there is no need to uninstall and remove Firefox.

Unfortunately, although I love the Vivaldi browser (which is built from Google's chromium architecture, just like chrome and many others) for any M$ or Linux OS, there are two features Firefox offers still unavailable with Vivaldi at this time. Therefore, Firefox remains my backup browser and for when I would like to use those two features unavailable with Vivaldi. However, Firefox would become the default browser not just for me, but an unknown huge number of users if permanently built-in plugins and/or extensions could be permanently disabled and/or removed because users want less intrusion and thus more security.

Firefox is a great browser. However, not being able to permanently remove permanently built-in plugins and/or extensions is more than a nuisance. Reason: If the built-in plugins and/or extensions can be re-enabled after an update, upgrade, or accessing your Firefox account, then there must be some type of script, sub-routine, program or AI detecting the permanently built-in plugins and/or extensions that have been disabled. That by definition is spying.

What is needed is a method to permanently remove permanent built-in plugins and/or extensions, or at least prevent the disabled built-in plugins and/or extensions from being enabled again.

Perhaps Amazon.com, Bing, DuckDuckGo, eBay and Google and Wikipedia are paying $$$ to be embedded within Firefox which may be needed by Mozilla for the ongoing development of updates and upgrades. If so, a paid-for browser might eliminate the need for Bing, DuckDuckGo, eBay and Google and Wikipedia to be included.

Thoughts and/or discussions?

Thanx!
