I'm wondering if there's a way to MOVE open browser windows in the way that you can move tabs around within a window? I do a lot of research and I work this way in order to go back to a particular subject and continue where I left off. Right now I have 20 windows open with any where from 5 to 12 tabs in some of these windows. When using my pointer I see only the tab that was opened in a particular window when I closed FF. I tried holding the pointer and dragging the open windows in the task bar...but no luck.

I guess I'm asking if there's anyway I could get a quick view of what every tab in every window open actually is, or perhaps use search words to find what I'm looking for?

Thank you any response ~~Bonnie

Since the last two Firefox updates currently have 136.0.2 (64-bit) "Open link in new tab" has been doing weird stuff like.... 1) it will open the link in a new tab BUT also opens the link in the already open tab giving me two open pages the same. Kind of defeats the option of "Open link in new tab". 2) trying to highlight text is not as simple as it once was. Left click before the text hold then drag, sometimes it starts then the blue highlight box just disappears or jumps to a different part of the text and sometimes nothing at all happens. 3) the mouse has been playing up as well since the last two Firefox updates, click the x in a tab to close the tab nothing happens and it is not as accurate there was a sort of margin to where the pointer had to been before the command worked not right on whatever you wanted the pointer to operate now it has to be as accurate as possible before it recognizes the command as the x to close a tab ect. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the mouse and drivers still happens. A still image would not really show the problem I need a video but I don't know how to do that and could I upload it? Thanks for your time.

When Firefox opens its first tab, when I enter a site a new (second) tab is opened. From that second tab, sites open in a new tab, or the same tab. But the very first tab remains empty and just takes up space.

What I'd like to see is the first site open in the first tab and then subsequent tabs open in new tabs. I don't have a home page set and don't need it. Is there someplace in settings that can I change this behavior?

I just opened Firefox on my Win 11 pc, and find all my tabs have gone. The setting to reopen last session is active, as before. I think FF updated itself earlier today. I also had occasion to look at it briefly on my synchronised android phone. I would like to: - get my tabs back - find a way to stop this haappening (it's not the first time).

Any advice much appreciated, thanks. Richard

Description: I would like to request the addition of a "Go to Last Used Tab" shortcut, also commonly referred to as a "Recall" feature. This functionality is extremely useful for quickly switching between the last two active tabs without needing to cycle through all open tabs.

Currently, I use Ctrl+Tab to cycle through tabs in order and Ctrl+Shift+Tab to cycle in reverse order. While this works, it is not ideal for scenarios where I frequently need to switch between two specific tabs (e.g., tab #25 for monitoring the progress of a web app and tab #129 for working on an email). In such cases, having a dedicated shortcut to jump directly to the last used tab would significantly improve productivity and usability.

Proposed Solution: Add a new keyboard shortcut (e.g., Ctrl+Backtick or a user-configurable option) that allows users to instantly switch to the last used tab.

Benefits:

Reduces the need to manually cycle through tabs, saving time.
Enhances workflow efficiency when multitasking across multiple tabs.
Aligns Firefox with features available in other modern browsers.

Use Case Example:

I’m actively working on a task in tab #129 (e.g., writing an email).
I periodically check the progress of a web app in tab #25.
Instead of cycling through tabs using Ctrl+Tab or searching for the desired tab, I could simply press a "Recall" shortcut to toggle between these two tabs instantly.

This feature would greatly enhance the user experience, especially for power users who frequently switch between tabs.

Can someone tell me why it is if I'm on a tab and either accidentally or on purpose click the home icon the tab will shut down, and be replaced by the home page? What type of backwards reasoning went into that feature? I've had this happen numerous times without intent, and sometimes with the intent to hit the home button and either way the same thing happens. If it weren't for the browser keeping a history, there are times I would be just out of luck, and have to suck it up. This is not a feature I want in a browser. Instead hitting the home button should forward the tab I'm on to the home page with the ability to back click to the tab I was on. Someone needs to re-think this feature. I would really like to have someone on the development team address this issue.

I really like the new tab group feature and I wondered if it would be possible to isolate tracking within a tab group. I didn't know about tab containers yet but it seems like a great feature to have the option to have a tab group also act as it's own tab container.

Are there any plans for integration between these two features?

Even though I have settings set to load previous tabs when Firefox is started up but when it is restarted it doesn't load the tabs. This has only occurred the last few days. My solution is to select "reopen all windows" which does what I want but also opens several other versions of Firefox. Noteworthy, confusing, but probably not associated: In the course of trying to work through this, I have had a baseball playing on Chrome. I ended up closing out Chrome but the baseball game audio continues even though the Chrome appears to be closed on the taskbar.
