Hi

Running Firefox 71.0 (64 bit)

Well seems Firefox has been messing this up again.

Anyone have the new work around solution to get my tabs back on the bottom again. They were fine this morning then shut down and went out to lunch and when I came back they were back on the top again after months of being where I wanted them below my bookmark bar.

Thoughts on this?

Thanks Dave

In the new version of the Developer Edition the options "close tabs to the right" and "close other tabs" are in a sub-menu named "Close Multiple Tabs" inside the context menu. Is there's a way to change this so that they will appear directly in the main context menu? I use "close tabs to the right" often and I find this very annoying.

Firefox updated and now my tabs are above the address bar, I hate it. I have went through all the information I could and created a new chrome folder, downloaded the css and changed user preferences but it sets the tabs to the bottom of the screen not just below the address bar. I think I need a different set of code for the css but cant find a copy. Does anyone know what to do?

When video/audio starts playing on a browser, the tab title displays 'playing' text. This additional line resizes the window height and causes the tab content to resize too. For example youtube starts resizing video window height and width - and this is very annoying. How do I remove 'playing' text from tab FOREVER?

Possible bug: I cannot stop Firefox from restoring sessions after restarting computer. Restore previous session is not checked in Settings, browser.sessionstore.resuming_after_os_restart is false, and browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash is false as well. Ubuntu 20.04, Firefox 91.0.2, only add-on is TreeStyleTabs, but this behavior displays with add-ons disabled.

Sometimes when loading a page, and the page is slow to respond, I will see a strange situation: The page is totally blank (the F12 tool does not display page content). The refresh button is gray (disabled), or sometimes although the refresh button enabled, the url textbox is "about:blank", which means I cannot actually reload the page I want to read. I have to re-navigate to the page through the link in the previous link. I'm not sure whether I got across. I hope the issue can be fixed.

I have Firefox set up to restore my tabs automatically when I open the browser. Today, it did not, and I can't find a way to restore my previous session. Every suggestion I find online is not resolving the issue. There is no option to restore through the history tab, and no option to restore the session in Startup under General Settings.

Would appreciate the help!

Thanks,

Doug

I always have a lot of tabs open, and could very easily streamline my work if I could group them into a system like Collections for Firefox Android. Bookmarks and Pocket do not make for easy working, especially when needing to revert to previous sites, and consequently the numerous tabs left open cause confusion and slow down the PC. Is there a similar system on Firefox for Desktop so I can group tabs/webpages/sites within Collections? Bookmarks and Pocket do not work in the same way and are very clumsy and cumbersome in comparison.

Microsoft Edge has its own Collections system, and if Firefox has nothing compatible, I am seriously considering leaving Firefox and reverting back to Edge, although I would be risking my privacy and security which I value so highly with Firefox.

Any suggestions please?

Hi, When my PC starts up, it automatically starts up Firefox with 2 recaptcha tabs. Nowhere have I set anything to startup Firefox (not in Start menu). I've had 4 different Firefox windows for months now or even more than a year. I use two monitors and I use lots of tabs. It has been easier for me until now to organize like that. I have 3 Firefox windows on my main monitor - one of them has like 10 tabs open. The other has 5. And the third one had maybe around 100. On the other monitor I have the last 4th Firefox window that has around 500 tabs open. I do this all the time where I get to a point in which I review them all in a day or two, filtrate thru the content I saved thru this method and after that reset the browser. So today I started this cleaning process with the 3rd window that had over 100 tabs. Was going great when suddenly I clicked the X button on the whole window and without any warning it instantly closed. I restarted the computer and nothing happened. All my information from over 100 tabs now gone forever and honestly this might sound funny to you but I'm literally having a panic attack right now having difficulties breathing. Before when it happened at times that I click the close button on these windows it always asked me a warning message if I want to close the window with these X tabs. No matter if the tabs are 10, 100 or 800. Always. No matter how many windows I have opened with different tabs in them. I immediately checked my settings and I see that "Confirm before closing multiple tabs" wasn't turned on which like NO WAY IN HELL did I go in the settings menu and turned that thing off. I haven't been in the settings menu since I installed firefox on this PC which was after I got my Windows OS like 2 years ago. And as I said I remember multiple times in these past months where I clicked the close button and it asks me if I want to close these X multiple tabs. So I dunno how that happened. Also I had the "Open previous windows and tabs" TURNED ON but that also didn't work apparently for some reason. So I'm not really sure what question I want to ask here, I guess I want some explanation why these things happened when clearly they shouldn't have and it wasn't my fault/mistake (from my point of view considering the facts). And also if there is any way to restore that window with the closed tabs.

Hi!

I had two Firefox windows open at the same time, one with a lot of tabs open in it, and one with only a few open. I was going to close firefox in order to restart the computer, and closed the window with many tabs in it first, and then I closed the window with only a few tabs in it. The next time I started Firefox, only the window with a few tabs in it loaded, and not the other window in which I had the vast majority of all opened tabs. And I can't find any way to restore the tabs from the other window either. I have looked under the History menu, but I don't see any option to restore a previous session there, so I'm guessing that Firefox thinks that it already has restored the previous session when I opened it up again.

So, how can I restore the tabs I had in the other window, with a lot of tabs opened?

Whenever I search something and follow a link, or if I'm on a page and click a link to another site or page, the history in the tab gets overwritten.

I've only noticed it this month and if I'm looking for something quickly its extremely frustrating having to re search with the same parameters over and over or remember to open every search in its own tab.

I've had a hard time searching this issue, I don't know if my terminology is right or if it's just a very niche issue I'm having.

Any help would be EXTREMELY appreciated.
