I restarted my computer and Firefox has deleted my profile, including all bookmarks, settings, history, and add-ons. I had to make a new account using this email and google account which is the same email and google account I had on my old profile. Is there any way to retrieve my old profile?

Help me recover my passwords to sign in ! I fear that i might have mangled them Myself . I am 83 years old and have several passwords and passkeys tucked away but probably got them messed up while trying to reset my computer that i got from my daughter 6 months ago ! It appears that i have completely messed up the CPU and i really need help! My step daughter who is back in china now Is hard to communicate with. She has the other processor with her. When I turned on my computer this morning, and opened Firefox, it froze, and had to be process-ended by Windows.

Subsequently, it also caused Windows Explorer crash.

I was forced to hard-reboot my computer, and restarted it to find all my tabs gone and unrecoverable, and all cookies deleted.

However, my browsing history remains.

Furthermore, my attempt at recovery of this data via the automated backup taken Monday 29 September 2025 - three days before this post - accomplished nothing.

I have looked in several places here, and found no help at all in recovering lost tabs. All threads remain unresolved.

Please provide troubleshooting assistance ASAP.

(And please be aware that the software had to be opened in order to post this question.)

I just updated to 143.0.3, and unless I open FF to its full width now, my clear-browsing-data and zoom icons have been disappeared from my menu bar.

The reason is because large (one-inch!) empty spaces have suddenly been inserted at the far left end of the menu bar (next to the back arrow) and between the hamburger icon and minimize "-" sign. It's not possible to remove those blanks via customize.

I click on my "clear" and "zoom" icons hundreds of times a day and I prefer having my browser non-full-width (prefer 2/3 width).

Anyone know what caused this and/or how to fix it (apart from rolling back to 142). Once again Mozilla has broken something that worked perfectly for me for many years and I suspect it has something to do with more screwing around with tabs. (I do use a CSS file solely to keep tabs on bottom.)

Alternatively, is there a way to shorten the address bar? That might create room for my add-on icons to re-appear while leaving the spurious blank spaces on the menu bar.

When i switch between two tabs by clicking with my external mouse ( I am on one tab and then point and click on another) and then directly start to scroll the page zoom like it does when i hold ctrl+zoom. What causes this?

It does not do the same in other browsers or other apps. It does the same with external mouse and track pad.

I'm having trouble signing into to some online news sites especially videos. The screen shows activity without actually loading a video or website site. I can't connect, it just keeps spinning.

Good morning, Woke up, noticed my screen on (was in sleep mode), guessed PC had restarted itself overnight, that happens, opened Firefox, click sandwich Click History "Recently closed tabs" and "Recently closed windows" are not options I can click...

what the heck please help! I'm going back to bed....

My passwords are apparently lost today after updating Firefox.

What went wrong? How could that happen? Why, Why Why?

Anyway to get them back? Are they hidden somewhere?

Anyone else suffering from this update too?

Any help or insights as to why would be greatly appreciated.

I keep asking. I don't want to, but I am going to use another browser that I don't like, that does have the + as I keep hitting the y key to open a new tab. I am not well, cancer has me. My eyes are bad, and I could use some help, Thank you.

Netflix stopped working with Firefox saying that an update is required. My Firefox and OS (Win11) are completely up to date.
