In most of the apps running on MacOS, you have inside the standard "Window" top menu, a lot of options, like: - Minimize - Zoom - Tile Window to the Left - Tile Window to the Right - Move to <monitor name> ... ...etc

In Firefox (I'm using developer version, 103b), we only get the first 2 options (minimize and zoom). I have set shortcuts to easy move my windows around my monitors, but they don't work in Firefox, because those shortcuts relies on the presence of the menu option "Move to <monitor>".

Is it by design, or is there a way to get this option in the Window menu? I'm attaching the menu clip from Chrome and Firefox to illustrate the issue.

Long story short: windows update sneaked a restart under my nose caused me to lose all my previous session.

I'm attempting to recover the previous session.

I have backed up the unmodified session profile folder. But this profile folder was modified by the restart process obviously, as windows gave firefox "normal shutdown" command. How do I know that? The next time I opened it up, it's "brand new" without the "restore session" interface.

So my idea is to figure out if firefox keeps a track record of previous sessions EVEN IF THE SHUTDOWN WAS PROPER.

If it does, well I'll have to figure out a way to "trick" firefox to restore it. If it doesn't, well I'll have to manually restore it by sifting through the history.

I repeat, the key here is for me to find out whether or not firefox always keep a record of previous session somewhere.

So my question is, does it? Or does it purge all the previous session clean as long as the shutdown was deemed "correct"?

Firefox prioritizes IPv6 (even on a network with internet-accessible fd00:: address, which contradicts my currently set up prefix policies) over IPv4. Now the problem is that my IPv6 address is a tunnelbroker.net one, and while I still want to be able to access the IPv6 internet, I don't want a tunneled connection to be my default. And I don't want to disable IPv6 completely. Is there a way to force Firefox to prioritize IPv4 over IPv6?

Note: the first time when connecting to a website, the browser connects via IPv4 (like the prefix policies are supposed to work), but then it remembers that the website is accessible via IPv6, saves it into the content-prefs.sqlite file (removing the said file makes the connection fall back to IPv4 first again) and connects via IPv6 again. Is there a way to make Firefox NOT remember that in content-prefs.sqlite and still connect abiding the prefix policies?

1. When I create a sign on for a new web site Firefox is no longer saving and auto filling the logon credentials. 2. Now when I load a website logon screen it is not always auto filling the stored credentials. Instead of auto filling now I must click on a displayed use rid to get the use rid field filled. I then have to click on the password credential to get the password auto filled.

Last few days any Firefox 102.0.1.8221 launch causes my Windows 7 64bit to reboot, usually when I try to mouse click anything in Firefox after it's fired up and restored open tabs, however even if I don't mouse click anything Firefox will force a reboot within a minute or so.

This Firefox Win 7 reboot behaviour only started after the last Firefox update, though I would point out that around update version 100.nn I started getting failed update notifications from within Firefox which necessitated a manual newer version Firefox download and install.

Running Windows 7 in safe mode with networking on allows Firefox to function without crashing, albeit slowly and with no MSE protection available etc.

Only one crash report dated 16/07/2022 with following content: Crash ID: bp-d8383165-9c77-45e4-9929-a3ce12160527

Please note I'm sending this report via Firefox on my iMac coz that still works...

I developed a web app that checks the existing session login for each new page. So, after logging in the first time, the user is shown a dashboard with a list of functions they can access (My Account, etc). When an item is clicked and the application calls the function, it first checks for the existence of login session. If it's not there, then the user is forced back to login screen. However Firefox is deleting the session at some point so when the session is checked for the new function, the user is forced to login again. Chrome, Safari, Edge do not and are fine.

Enhanced tracking is turned off for the site and is shown as an exception. What is happening and how can prevent it?

Hello,

Firefox just updated a little while ago to 103.0. Since then, anytime Firefox is open and I either scroll or hover over menu options it causes graphical glitches. I've included an image I was able to print-screen.

It doesn't occur with other browsers. Suggestions?

I'll add that Firefox seems to also be freezing up as well.

Has anyone experienced problems logging into a GoDaddy hosted MS email account via Firefox or a GoDaddy account generally?

Whenever I try to login to my GoDaddy account via Firefox I get the error message: "Yikes, Something went wrong. Please, try again later." I have tried the login with both MS Edge and Google Chrome and both work fine as did Firefox until a few days ago.

I have done the usual stuff of making sure Firefox is up to date, clearing the cache and cookies etc., but I still get the message and cannot login.

I can switch to a different browser if there is no resolution to this

Firefox 103 screws with website zooming if you use the "Make text bigger" accessibility setting in Windows. 150% for example now zooms in a lot more with the accessibility setting in Windows set to 120%.

How do I undo this change so that 150% is 150% and not bigger than 150%? I had all my frequented websites set up how I liked it and now this comes along and messes it all up >:V at the moment it seems like 120% Firefox + 120% Accessibility is similar to what 150% in Firefox was like but it's not exactly the same. I've now gotta go futz with zoom levels for each web page I frequent again to find what looks most comfortable for each one.

Also this change greatly modifies consistency when it comes to the granularity of zooming. For example, what is 100% zoom when Accessibility is set to 120% so that I can avoid filtered scaling being applied to pictures? Why is the in-browser percentage indication not accurate with the level of zooming actually being applied?

The zoom level I choose is no longer the zoom level applied, there is now a multiplier in effect. So 50% isn't 50% anymore, 60% isn't 60% anymore, 70% isn't 70% anymore, 80% isn't 80% anymore, 90% isn't 90% anymore, 100% isn't 100% anymore, 110% isn't 110% anymore, 120% isn't 120% anymore, 130% isn't 130% anymore, 140% isn't 140% anymore etc.

A website that looked good at 133% can no longer be viewed at 133% if the Accessibility setting isn't also 133%.

Not a fan of whoever decided to implement this seemingly without a way to turn it off.

I updated my Firefox today and now videos do not play.

I had this problem back in April after an update and I spent weeks troubleshooting it. Eventually I got it to work after trying all of the following (then, and again now):

Things I've Tried: 1.) Clearing data (cache and cookies) 2.) Turning off "Strict Mode" 3.) Running CCleaner 4.) Disabling/enabling HW acceleration 5.) Checking that the DRM box is checked (and trying it without it checked) 6.) Refreshing Firefox 7.) Uninstalling/Reinstalling 8.) Updating my Windows install 9.) Updating drivers 10.) Disabling all Firefox extensions 11.) Running without extensions 12.) Running in Firefox Troubleshooting Mode 13.) Running Windows in Safe Mode with Networking 14.) Running a fresh install of Firefox without signing in after deleting all traces of Firefox from my PC (including Program Data folders, registry entries, etc.)

What finally worked back in April was to dive into "about:config" and change "media.rdd-processenable" to "false".

That fix does not work this time around.

In the meantime I've been using Brave and having no issues. I've tried video playback in Chrome, Opera, and Edge on this computer with no issues. This playback problem is exclusive to Firefox.

Video playback still works just fine on my 4 home PCs running Windows 10 and Pop_OS (3 self-built, one Asus laptop) using this same build of Firefox.

Other/Rant: I suspect this is a Firefox/Windows 11 problem. Most likely this is not something I can fix myself, but it's incredibly frustrating since I'm buried deep in the Mozilla ecosystem and use it for work. I'd prefer not to have to swap between browsers just so I can watch videos; too many windows open on this tiny work laptop isn't fun to juggle. Basic video playback is the #1 thing I use my web browser for at both work and home so it'd be nice if this irritating, months-long, unacceptable issue were resolved. A modern browser that has video playback issues? What good is it then? What's most irritating is that it seems I'm the one of a very small number of users with this issue, since I see very little posted about it online.

I've been a Firefox user primarily for almost half a decade now - moved over from Chrome for privacy issues. Never had a problem until 4/22 of this year and considering it's still an issue 3 months later... it has me re-evaluating the reliability and my commitment to an otherwise amazing browser.

Hello,

First off, I have been trolling the internet for a few days trying to find the answer to this with no avail.

I want to be able to keep Firefox up to date without any user interaction, or having to launch the application. I DO NOT want to see "Firefox is installing updates" splash screen when i try to launch the browser, i want this installed already hence what the background installer is suppose to be for.

When I launch Brave it NEVER asks me to update, nor do i see any screen that says installing updates, etc.. , yet it is always up to date. This is the behavior that I want in Firefox. I should not have to see a splash screen when i launch Firefox saying installing updates when I have it set to background updates which should be silent. So, Firefox will never be up to date unless someone opens it.

I have set install updates, when not running and use background service to install.

I also changed the config IF needed for the following in about:config: user_pref("app.update.langpack.enabled", false); user_pref("app.update.auto.migrated", true); user_pref("app.update.background.enabled", true);

I completely installed nightly version for the first time to test out settings as it updates frequently and is using a new profile( FF profile that is). Yet this issue continues to happen where I see a splash screen, sometimes the browser launches, then closes, then that splash screen pops up saying that it is installing updates then the browser re-opens again. This is sloppy behavior and needs to be corrected

What is the point of having a background installer if it does not work as a true background installer?

As I have stated This happens on three different machines and version versions of Firefox. I have not found anything for this as all my search results come up regarding installing Firefox silently from cmd, or enable auto updates. I want a completely silent update similar to how brave/chrome works.

Thank you for your time.
