hi there, I'm using FF147.0.3 on a windows 11 version 25H2 laptop. I use google as my default search engine. When I open a new tab the google search page opens as usual. But now all of a sudden as soon as I start typing, search suggestions are appearing in the address box and not in the main google search page bar.

I've tried "settings-search-address bar" and turned off all features but that had no effect on the problem. I've reset the laptop several times but the issue still remains.

This problem is really annoying so any help would be great. Cheers Jeff

I want youtube to go back to the list of websites on the url drop down menu. I'm annoyed that Heroforge replaced it after only two visits to the website and I don't know why it even did that.

The title says it all. I use Firefox on my home computer with Windows 10, and my work laptop using Windows 11. At home, URLs do not autocomplete when typing them in--settings are all on for this to work properly, and it used to work properly, but it does not work at all. At work, URLs complete just fine.

Hello Mozilla, How do I permanently remove Google Trending Search from Firefox? May I ask: Please do not make such changes without obvious explicit warning? This is a time consuming nightmare. Regards Andrew

When a system-wide VPN application (not built into Firefox) is enabled, the behavior of the address bar changes: on the first click, it only shows 5 sites (Top Sites), instead of the usual 9. After pressing the Spacebar, the list from browsing history loads normally. The problem persists after turning off the VPN and only disappears after a full restart of Firefox. When I type map into address bar, maps.app.goo.gl becomes the autofill. I'd want to delete it. However, shift-delete does not take effect. I checked history and did not find it.

How can I delete it?

I have Firefox, then suddenly it switched over to Google.... a little google icon has appeared in the search window ... it drives me crazy... I have google news (absolute BS). How can I permanently remove google from my PC and LIFE? Please help...

When I open a website from a shortcut in my desktop (Win Pro 25H2) the link works perfectly and the site opens. However, a dropdown box opens from the address bar and displays all the URL of every page I've visited within that site. I can click on the site page (away from the dropdown list) and the the dropdown list then closes. Is there a way to turn this annoying thing off?

Hi! I recently had to reinstall Firefox. Logged into the same Mozilla account I've been using for several years, with pretty much the same config files I've been using since I switched to Linux, and suddenly--for the first time in at least a year--Firefox has (again) started trying to "fix" searches I put into the address bar that aren't prefaced with a search engine. How do I turn this off? (For example, if I go to the address bar and type in "cats" I get directed to a page like the first attached screenshot. If I type in "@google cats" I get directed to the second attached screenshot...)

I'm pretty sure I've disabled everything in prefs.js that relates to that. Um. Feature? But clearly I haven't been able to disable it yet! So.

Like the title says. I've removed this (see img) page from history and tried hitting SHIFT + DEL with the suggestion highlighted, but it just persists. How can I get rid of it?

I'm looking to clear my history (as one does) but upon clearing my history as shown in the picture, I still get search recommendations in the search bar.

Do I need to tick more boxes ? I would still like to keep my stored credentials and forms and to ultimately keep search history results (just clear the ones i have right now), is there anyway of doing this ?
