Hello!

Every so often I accidentally trigger what looks like an input field of some kind.

I have managed to reproduce this ( WinKey + / ) but still have no idea what it is.

Can anyone tell me what this is, or what it's used for? I've attached a couple of image files; one of them is a closeup.

Perhaps it's an add-on that's doing this...

the latest version of firefox does not work with windows 7 the software stops with the message firefox does not respond the solution found is to use chrome! will the software be corrected? or should we permanently abandon this software thank's alain bron old professor of computing science

Hope everyone is doing well.

The title pretty much sums it up. When I right click on a link to select "open link in new tab" (or other selection), the menu seems to open just beneath the cursor causing an instantaneous selection (usually opens a new tab). I've tried using the browser without any extensions and the problem keeps occurring (just happened now when I tried to select the correct spelling for occurring).

This only seems to happen with Firefox.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried updating to newer versions of Firefox beyond 82.0.3, Refreshing Firefox, Removing and reinstalling Firefox and after I do these my video driver fails and recovers when a web page loads in Firefox. No other apps I am running cause the failure. Only Firefox. Firefox works OK on 82.0.3. Windows report of failure is Problem Event Name: LiveKernelEvent Code: 141

Why all of a sudden are my searches done by Yahoo not Google? I adjusted nothing. I employ Privacy Badger. Does that annoy Google in its desire to know everything about everyone?

I cannot get Firefox to run on my notebook. I deleted a Firefox Icon on the MacBook Air pop-up start bar & now Firefox is gone? It is still runnning on my Apple IPhone. How do I bring the desktop back to life without having to enter everything again? Thank you in advance

FEEDBACK FROM A VERY UNHAPPY FIREFOX USER 01-JUN-2021

I received a push update to Firefox 89.0. On my machine (which has a small screen geometry) the new layout is very (very) inefficient - waaaay too much space between screen widgets.

I looked for how to reverse the UI in 89.0 and the procedure was too complicated and time consuming to do in the time available.

I downloaded Firefox 88.0.1 and installed that over 89.0, but upon startup it will not accept the profiles and insists on creating a new profile or exiting (either option BAD).

Fortunately I had imaged the whole machine about a week before, so I was able to get back to 88.0.1 and resume use of my profiles (which have lots of stored data and specific preferences.)

MOZILLA FIREFOX TEAM HERE THIS:

1. Pushing down a non-trivial change to UI is very Windows-8-esque and is bad form without an option to (easily) back out. Microsoft has evidently learned this lesson - each Windows 10 update comes with an option to back out.

2. Leaving Mozilla's "feedback" page inoperative when pushing this extent of update is bad form.

3. My trust in Mozilla is somewhat damaged at this point; I will not accept any update after 88.0.1 I am running now until I have time to pre-test it in a "safe" environment.

When I start typing in the search bar in the middle of the page the word automatically goes up to the address bar. I have made sure the cursor is flashing in the search bar, how do i fix this?

I just installed the latest update the browser now looks like a Bog O Sh#te.

What did they do to it?????

How can I go back to the old version?

Why can I no longer use the Firefox default theme? I can select it, and it is listed as "Enabled" but the plain grey screen keeps showing not the default. Also, is there away to go back to Firefox 88.0.1 and not have it update again? I went to Add-ons & Themes and disable automatic updates but I still got the prompt informing me to restart Firefox to update. Is it just me or is Firefox really getting worse with each update?

You interrupted what I was doing for an update. (Why can't it wait until I have the time?)

And now: No more outlined tabs, just one long bar with titles hanging on it. Who could possible have thought this was an improvement?

I want real tabs that look like tabs. And an obvious address window. All the color, all the definition has disappeared. It looks like a ghost of the browser I had a few minutes ago.

Stop changing my browser set-up and appearance!

I still haven't gotten the Other Bookmarks folder off my Bookmarks Toolbar.

I don't want to have to undo the changes that should never have been made.

I'm not technical - and this is a nightmare.

I'm not sure if Firefox is aware that their news suggestions are mostly Leftist-Globalist Anti-American Fake News & Misinformation. They seem to be promoting the corrupt establishment, truly frightening.

After the update today when I type in the lower Google search window (in the middle of the page) it opens the upper URL dropdown with clutter I don't need and will not let me use the lower window to type a search. How to I get back to how it worked before?

Every time I download a file, when the box comes up asking me what I want to do it is set to "Open with" instead of "Save As", so I have to take the extra step of turning it back to "Save As." I don't want to set it to ALWAYS Save As, because sometimes I DO open things in Firefox or other programs, but I want it to be set to Save As by default among those three options, because 90% of the time that is what I am doing and having to add an extra step is slowing me down and putting me off my stride when downloading a number of things at once. There does not seem to be any option to resolve this.

Included is an example. Save As used to be the go-to option. Now it is not, and I can't seem to change this.
