Windows 11: I have file download setting set to: "always ask where to save". I choose the location and folder when the save file box opens. The document is saved in the location I chose BUT it also saves to the desktop. How do I stop a duplicate download from saving to the desktop?

Since my credit union merged, firefox will not remember my sign in credentials. Edge browser does. Firefox remembers all others. The new credit union merger is Peak, Was NWCCU.

i run Firefox on Win11. When i go to a website, and open several tabs, e.g., 10 or more, firefox just sits there and no longer works on that site. Basically Firefox is becoming quite worthless as a browser for me. The reason i use it are the extensions. This is something that has happened within the last 6 to 9months or so. What is going on. I periodically need to convert my sent Emails to CSV. I typically use the NG tool for this. The problem is that the output is partially jibberish (random symbols) which takes a lot of space and is difficult to navigate. I suspect the problem is with the emails that have attachments or embedded images. I could be wrong, but I suspect that these attachments are sort of corrrupting the output file. (Not a true corruption; but inserting thousands of needless characters that renders the file very difficult to use.) I need a way to export the email without attachments or images; all I need is date, recipient, and body. I have Googled this used AI and have tried many methods, but nothing is working. The last attempt was to export as EML (messages and index), which did seem to save the emails without attachments/embeds. But then for some reason I could not import those messages back into Thunderbird. So I'm running in circles. Is there a simple way to create a CSV file that simply has date, recipient, message body (and possibly subject line), and excludes attachments and embedded images?

i am trying to type this message on firefox, but i have to avoid shift key not to interrupt typing. when i hot shift+some other keys like i, b, v, etc, devtools pop up. i have checked other forums, other q&a on firefox support, and concluded that the same issue have occurred to many users regardless of the os, features, extensions, various keyboards (but not the virtual one for me) or system settings. i have to type a lot in the browser, so i just choose to delete firefox until someday the issue is fixed.

I give up. All I want to do is to go to the selected web site. Now different profile. Passwords don't work. Too frustrating. I had to switch to edge because I just could not figure out why I was getting jerked around.

I tried to reload old database of bookmarks to resolve issue. Initially OK, but DID NOT work after SYS MECH is run. I tried to delete profile to recover bookmarks. Initially OK, but DID NOT work after SYS MECH is run.

I cannot locate any "setting" in SYS MECH

How can I resolve?

Yesterday, I lost most of my bookmarks in several Bookmarks folders. These are critical to my work with several non-profit organizations. All efforts to follow Mozilla's troubleshooting advice and use the Manage Bookmarks functions to restore or import backups in my Profiles folders are met with the "Unable to process the backup file." message. I have a number of backups available, any of which could potentially resolve this issue, but nothing I have tried is working. Please help! Thanks, Shack

Trying to get to saved themes in Firefox Color doesn't work on some machines depending on the screen size / display. The tab next to "Custom Backgrounds" is overlaid by the huge display of the application menu. One one of my computers you can see it just below the enlarged icon, but on my laptop you can't get to it at all.

I can see it on my desktop PC - barely. On my laptop the icon overlays it completely and I can't get to saved themes. I have tried playing with zoom, but that didn't help. The default / recommended scale in Windows for two different laptops I have is 150% with resolution 1290 x 1200. If you change that to 100%, THEN you can see the saved themes, but I doubt most people would figure that out. Even at 125% I can't see it. I am attaching an example from my laptop where I changed the SCALE set to 125% (again, 150% is recommended by Windows).

Lately when I reconnect to my Mac laptop after a period of sleep, the Firefox browser windows are unresponsive. It seems to be receiving input but does not update the display. I have to quit and reopen Firefox to get it to work again. The menu works, I am able to quit, so it's not like the whole app is frozen. Plus, if I clicked on the "new tab" icon while it was unresponsive, those new tabs show up open after I quit and reopen the browser.

There is a common error documented in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-already-running-not-responding but none of the solutions fix my problem.

I have signed out of my PC and mobile devices Done a complete uninstall of firefox on the Windows 11 machine Searched and removed ALL files on the drive associated with Firefox or Mozilla, including cache and temp Searched and removed ALL Firefox or Mozilla keys in the registry Checkdisk Used update to refresh the windows install Multiple reboots

and a fresh download and install of Firefox. And still get the "already running" error. If I wait long enough - several minutes - I will get the "crash report" screen as the background process finally ends.

Any suggestions?
