I had so many instances of firefox and tabs that i decided i must organize them on tabgroups, i read they were secure enough and would be restored along with open tabs on new session. But after restarting all my "close and save" tab groups are missing! are they still saved? how can i recover them?

Yes, I'd like to use the same account on both of my profiles.

I understand that for some users, this may be confusing.

In my case, the only reason for different profiles is that I need to use a Proxy Server for some websites, and no proxy for other websites. Manually switching proxy settings is painful, and doing so causes traffic for my other tabs/windows to go to the proxy, which I do not want.

I have a main (set of) windows (and its tabs) going straight to the internet, then I have a separate window (and its tabs) configured to go through a proxy (SOCKS5 in this case). I want all other settings, bookmarks, passwords, etc. to be identical to both. I end up having to logout of my main profile, log into the other profile to sync settings, log out of there, and log back into my main profile.

Is there a valid technical reason why an account on the same FireFox installation cannot be shared between two profiles?

I can do this on multiple computers (same account, different computers/profile), seems odd it is restricted to not allow on the same computer.

I have an alternative solution: Install FireFox natively, then install FireFox as AUR or FlatPak, but not sure this will collide as this both uses the same profile directory. Hum...

Hi there just switched to firefox due to some unfixable bugs in Edge, but i'm missing a key feature: in edge i had the following add-on : Volume master, which turns the volume up to 600%, however it has a quite handy bug: whenever you change the volume with add-on and then try to full-screen the player, instead going full-screen, it becomes full width theater mode player. is there any such add-on for firefox?

From "About" on the Firefox menu I am trying to download the update from 145.0.2 but it is stalled at 27.1 of 31.3 MB. The little pair of spinning arrows icon just keeps spinning without making any further progress. I'm on a 2020 iMac running Sonoma 14.5 My internet connection is still functioning. I'm wondering what I should do. Is there a way to just cleanly stop and start over? Or stop and continue.

Each time I open the Firefox Icon on my desktop in AVD, it opens an older version and it prompts me to recreate a profile. I updated Firefox yesterday and brought over my passwords and bookmarks. This keeps reoccurring after we fix it each time. Can you help?

Whenever my laptop starts up,firefox with all of my tabs always starts up with it. When i rose up earlier in the day and started up my laptop firefox with all my tabs opened up as normal,but this evening everything is gone. I had at least 20 tabs open and they were all important. There was no option to recover the tabs and this isn't the first time this has happened,this is at least the third time that this has happened after the last year and a bit. This is incredibly annoying and frustrating. Is there even any point in asking the community how this can be resolved?

I have a Mac with Sequoia update but my Mac is not good with memory so when I have a new install version it will probably crash my Mac. How might I stop automatic installation by Firefox?

I cleared my history, and lost my autofill for my yahoo email account. I can't get it back from them. Is there a way for me to find it in my firefox history? Thanks

I just bought a new laptop with Windows 11 and installed Firefox onto drive C: of the 1 TB SSD. I then decided to partition the SSD into three drives and put Firefox on the E: drive. After I partitioned the SSD and uninstalled Firefox, I downloaded the Firefox installer from Mozilla, and ran it, but it somehow perceives that I had had Firefox previously installed and only gives me the option of re-installing Firefox at the original (C:) drive location. There is no longer an option in the installer to change the installation location. How can I get around this and re-install Firefox on my E: drive instead of my C: drive?

The update to v145 completely changed how background color and highlighting of HTML emails are displayed. It was nicer before. Can someone please share which setting in about:config to change to return to HTML display in previous versions?

When I am on some webpages, and want to copy and paste a paragraph, of course I highlight it first -- but as of a couple of days ago, the links to pop-up boxes on the page will not highlight. If I go to the same page with Chrome, there is no problem. I can highlight links to other webpages, it is just the ones to pop-up boxes. I have checked and this problem is not machine-specific. I am on a laptop and I checked our desktop and it has the same problem. Perhaps the recent update changed something? I have attached a screenshot of a page from Ancestry.com with the problem -- on the left I have tried to highlight the whole thing, and, as you can see, the links are not highlighted, and if I copy and paste, the links do not work. I haven't been able to find a keyboard shortcut for switching between FF windows. I'm using MacOS Tahoe. Is this in development, or is it there and I just haven't been able to find it.

I'm trying to use an old Apple Powerbook as my 2015 MacBook Pro just died. I use Firefox as my browser on my PowerBook, and it is asking me to enter my old phone number and is not accepting my new phone number.
