Why is Firefox always crashing on Windows-XI, especially from third-party servers and whenever scrolling? This has been happening for the last nine months (ver.146>Beta), at least. Does my SSD need replaced and/or my Win-XI reinstalled? Either way, this is happening on every Firefox browser that I have, including Windows-XPIII> and Android-16>. This is where my team always swore that Java6>, .Net3>, Python3>, and even Swift3> love to crash all user-interfaces/shells, and make users lose all random access memory. Is there any suggestion to fix this bug of Firefox, or must I replace the SSD?

Does FF have a maximum number of windows / tabs that can be open at one time? I use 12 workspaces each with multiple windows / tabs in them, roughly guessing ~100 windows and ~8-50 tabs per window

FF randomly hangs / crashes 1-3 times a day for me and has been for some time (over multiple revisions of FF; currently 157.0.1) requiring restarting FF

System: Large workstation, 128G memory, i9-7920x (12c / 24T) Linux, OpenSuSE Leap 15.6 FF source from FF repos, not OpenSuSE

Any settings I need to change to prevent the crashes?

My firefox randomly crashes every 2 minutes after updating to the newest version (157.0.1（64 bit）). get message Firefox Not Responsive when entering text verification code for Outlook email, also randomly for only 1 bank card, this crashed entire web and have to turn off computer to even try web again, earlier 9/30 your web froze submitting this, other emails and banks/card work fine, have tried over 12 times 2026/9/29 and 9/30, have cleared cache, turned off computer, Using ESET antivirus, google works every time

Been happening for almost 2 months now and getting more frequent. What happens is FF opens normally , but reacts sluggishly. Many instances of "not responding". When I close the program , it takes several minutes to close. In Task Manager , it shows disk usage at 100% , CPU at as high as 50% , and memory at 4 gigs prior to crashing. This is on a Windows 11 Pro system with the latest updates and the latest FF.

Hello. I am back again with the same issue that I presented on the forum post three months ago. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1594903?utm_campaign=questions-reply The difference is now it is happening on Firefox v157.0.1;everything else is identical. Qubes os R4.3.2 with Firefox 157.0.1 in a Fedora 44 xfce VM. To recap I open one window for Proxmox Datacenter Manager and as soon as I click to sign in Firefox completely disappears. I can open this in Chromium browser and Firefox ESR v.140.17.0 esr perfectly fine. Please consult the original post for all I did to troubleshoot this. I am working with the esr version now but would like to help put this issue to bed. Community members stepped up last time to help me so I am here to do my small part for others. And it is rather annoying that the report does not tell me which addon is misbehaving either. I do know it runs just fine without any addons enabled so hence, the problem lies with a buggy addon and I'm left in the dark about which one.

Firefox (currently 157) continually crashes on my Windows 10 machine. Task Manager shows Firefox downloading sub apps (currently, 11) until memory is full. Then Firefox crashes. Task Manager shows 11 sub apps open right now using 537Mb of memory. I opened in troubleshoot mode. If I open in normal mode, more than 1Gb will be used with 14 or 15 sub apps downloaded. Only two tabs are shown as being opened. This started with one of the earlier updates and newer updates didn't fix the problem. Even emptying the cache didn't help. Do you recommend totally deleting Firefox and starting over from scratch?

Firefox locks up and crashes on Win 10 desktop after it Firefox updates. If I refresh Firefox it seems to work OK for a couple weeks until Firefox updates . Then it becomes unuseable again. I have refreshed firefox twice now. Should I get this ESR version?

My Apple desktop crashes frequently in different applications (while in gmail, on Facebook, etc.) and it sends a report to Apple every time. It never does it if I use Safari. If I can reload Firefox to fix it please let me know how to do that. Thanks.

There is nothing obviously happening with my browser. It doesn't crash when I am using it. But I keep getting, several times/day, the dialog box shown in added images below.

FireFox Browser Crashing from Multiple Windows with Dual Monitors causing memory crashes in gnome.

google chrome used to have a brower extension called "The Great Suspender" to stop these crashes. If firefox can't figure this out I am not going to continue using firefox and go back to chrome.
