When downloading financial data to Moneydance software, the download correctly opens Moneydance and update data file correctly, but after v98 Firefox update a second identical .qfx file is downloaded to my desktop which I then have to securely delete as a redundant file on my PC.... This is new behavior, has always worked perfectly previously. Firefox settings under Files and Application header are as follows: Downloads: Save files to Desktop Applications: Actions are set to use Moneydance.exe for all OFX and QFX financial data

The extra file showing up on my desktop is new and unwanted. It seems to be unneeded as it can be deleted without any obvious effect and no loss of data in Moneydance

I browse web, I see an image to save. prior to today (03-09-2022) I click save as and it saved file to my downloads folder. but today, I click save as and instantly the list of files I saved pops up on right side. below the list of files it shows "show all downloads"

this window is easily accessible by left clicking clicking the download icon. i do not want this box popping up on each file/image saved. or rather, why is it doing it suddenly?

running 2 addons: TinEye - reverse image search Video DownLoadHelper

both of these I have zero issues with and have been running them both circa firefox 45? or older

I just switched to Windows 11 and Firefox have a strange behaviour. Maybe also just firefox updates the behaviour like removing back action when clicking backspace some time ago. When a download of a PDF starts it is configured that it will ask me what to do. So in general I use open with Adobe PDF Viewer. This also works. But the file is anyway in my Download-Folder. I was used that it will be saved in the temp folder %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp and then also deleted after a while. If I want a file saved for a longer time I save it explicitly to a location I want to have it.

Any idea what is wrong in the Windows 11 or Firefox (currently 98.0.1)

Thanks a lot!

It used to be that when I downloaded something, the icon would light up and I could click it to open if I wanted to, but now it pops open whenever I download something. Every time I do a new (first) save to a firefox item, I get an annoying brief display showing files which were opened.

I don't need such a display and would like to turn it off: It is distracting and might cause me to miss a REAL error message.

I am attaching a gif photo of this display, which is new to the latest firefox.

How can I turn off this feature?

Hello Mozilla Support!

I just installed Firefox 98.0 this morning. I was very surprised to discover that I can no longer view an attachment in Firefox or open an attachment without also downloading it.

If you can, please ask the developers to reinstate the Download Attachment options to "Open with Firefox" and "Open with [select the program]" without automatically downloading every attachment.

Thank you!

When I click on a WAV file or try to open an Excel attachment, I only get the download window. I went to settings and tried to change the default program to open them, but I don't have WAV or Excel in my list and when I try to search for it, nothing comes up. What am I doing wrong? It was all fine before the update from Tuesday, 3/8/22. After that update I had to go in and change all the programs back to the ones I had set up for pdfs, word docs, mail, jpegs, etc, so it clearly reset everything back to Firefox defaults, but why are those file types missing from my list and not coming up in the search window so that I can assign a program to open them?

Hey Mozilla!

I'm a big fan of your product, and I use it on my Windows 10x64 PC and my Note10+ Android 12 smartphone.

Since your last update, there is a problem (on the PC mozillla browser): when a click a link to download a file, automaticly is open a new window that OPEN the file. Before the last update, when I was click-ing the link, I remember that the browser was open a small window and promt me to OPEN or to SAVE the file. Now, that function is missing. (I have checked different web sites, including whatsapp for desktop, the problem is persisting).

I haven't changed any settings, the box is checked for "Always ask you where to save files".

Thank you!

Best regards, Bogdan

Since a recent Firefox update, the download button/icon in the task bar now shows the files(s) every time a 'Take A Screenshot' is used. Lately when I download an image, from Google expanded images on the right side for example, the download drops down a menu. If I have made multiple downloads the list gets longer and now blocks the area of the page I am working on. I don't need this downloads drop down menu and cannot find a way to stop it. I would prefer if it didn't display unless I clicked on it.

I have searched the net but can't find any answers. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Tom.

Does anyone else have an issue opening documents? All of a sudden Firefox no longer allows me to open certain files. When I go to the settings, the only applications that I have options for are PDF, AV1F, XML, SVG and WebP Image. I seem to have lost the ability to selection "open", "save" or "always ask" for all other documents such as Word, Excel, etc. Screenshot included.

This seems to have happened out of nowhere.

Thank you for your help.

Lately, within the last 60 days, when ever I download something a notification banner listing my downloads appears at the top of the screen. The banner DOES NOT go away on it's own. I have to click on the page somewhere to get rid of it.

My question is: how do I turn this off?

I did not turn it on or even want such a banner. I used to only see this banner when I right clicked on the download icon, what changed?

Thank you for your help.
