I can't find where this information comes from. How can I completely remove these from my FIrefox install? Thanks

playing youtube videos 720p CPU goes up to 100˚C and 100% CPU on all cores it is since upgrade 88.0, before it was ok compared to chromium browser 720p ~ 20%

How do I permenantly remove the bookmark star from the address bar. I was quite happy with the previous version of Firefox where I had removed the bookmark star but now it would seem I can not. I would also like to remove the reader view button also.

When printing a pdf from the built-in pdf viewer (pdf.js?) to a network printer, it's so slow as to be unusable. Save the same pdf and open it it in Xreader, click print, and it starts printing immediately. Size of the document seems to play a role; I knew it was slow from trying to print smaller documents in the past, but today I needed a hard copy of a 68MB pdf, and hours later, it still had not printed.

I'm running latest Linux Mint Debian Edition 4 Debbie and latest Firefox in its repositories, 78.11.0esr (64-bit). Printer is Canon imageRunner 2200, it doesn't have any other slow printing problems, as I stated above.

Problem seems to have existed for a long time...

I am running the new Firefox 89.0 on Linux. Under the Edit menu, the Preferences option is now called Settings.

Please open Settings and search for site data. This displays the pertinent settings for Cookies and Site Data, and for History.

A Web SDR site is a website that gives each of its visitors the ability to tune a Software Defined Radio chip to a different frequency, independent of other users' listening preferences. The audio is streamed back to the user.

It requests that the user supply a user name, often a ham radio operator's callsign. This is used to display on the radio dial where each user is listening. If a name is missing, the user's IP address is used.

A cookie is stored with the user name, and if that cookie survives to the next visit to the site, the name does not have to be re-entered.

The web SDR can allow users to save custom memory presets, and cookies are said to be used to save memory presets "on your computer," and not on the server.

I had set cookie preferences for each site to always allow cookies, and my username was indeed carried over from one browser session to another. But my presets were never saved.

I finally discovered that it was not a cookie, but offline site data storage on my computer that retains these presets.

Under the History section in Preferences of earlier versions of Firefox, I told Firefox to use custom settings, and then I had set first- and third-party cookies to be allowed for the session. I told Firefox to Clear history when it closes, and in the "Settings ..." dialog, I unchecked everything but cache and offline site data. Only cache and offline site data were deleted.

The History section in Settings in FF 89.0 is still set for Firefox to use custom settings, but cookie options are not listed. I still tell Firefox to Clear history when it closes, and the "Settings ..." dialog is the same.

In the Cookies and Site Data section in Settings, I tell Firefox to Delete cookies and site data when it is closed. In the "Exceptions ..." dialog, I enter the address of the website and hit "Always" for everything entered, to save the site's cookies and data from the bulldozer.

It occurred to me that there are two duplicate means to clear cookies and site data.

I went to History and opened the "Settings ... " dialog again and cleared the checkbox for offline site data.

NOW my stored memories on the Web SDR sites are still here! In Firefox 89, do not use History's Clear history when Firefox closes to delete cookies or site data, for that will blow away the cookies that were saved in the Cookies and Site Data's Exceptions!

The browser was overhauled, and History's handling of cookies and site data became obsolete.

I do have a question here: If I am on a site, I can click on the lock in the address bar to retrieve a series of screens that lead me to the Security tab, and to its left, the Permissions tab. By selecting the Permissions tab, I can set the site's permissions for cookies and for persistent storage of site data.

If I set to allow cookies and allow site data in Permissions, does that enter the site address into the Settings' Cookies and Site Data's Exceptions dialog? Or must I still copy the address of the site and go to Settings and enter that in Exceptions also?

When i am opening up firefox it loads the last session (as it should), but it opens old cached versions of them all, instead of loading them again. Even when i have cleared all cache and cookies data. Even tried refreshing pages. OPening up in incognito mode nothing works on my PC but the mobile phone on the same wifi network serves the new website ..

Even tried solutions mentioned on [thread ] but it didnt seem to work

An Ad-on disappeared from my toolbar. It is still installed, but I can't use it. I deinstalled it and installed it new. But it does not appear again. It is not hidden in - what you might call in English - the "overflow bar". What can I do to make it appear again?

I need to ask Mozilla to fix a bug in my/their account page. I can't add my secondary email because my emails all use the same name even though they are at different sites. How do I get developers to fix this simple authentication problem since we can't talk to any tech support?

Hello. Since the last update (89.0), there is an annoying behaviour. The menu bar has kept a normal height, but the tab bar and tools bar are oversized (both are almost twice the normal size). The bookmarks items also are overgrown. Does anyone experience the same? Thanks in advance. hhall.

Hi, I just discovered a problem setting secondary email when both primary and secondary is on the same domain, gmail.com.

Following the instructions:

Set up secondary email

The error that come up says that the secondary email must be different than my account email, but it is, the only common thing is the domain.

So this is a bug, please fix.

The feature "forget site" is commonly used for solve site caching problems, however this clean saved passwords too, but it is a problem for me. I'd like a configuration option to avoid this.

I'm using Ubuntu 21.04, with Firefox Version 89.0.1

I like my window control buttons to the left, and I prefer them on the top bar. In Version 89.0.1, I'm now stuck with two sets of window control buttons.

So that was asked 9 years ago, and I tried adding those lines to my userChrome.css in the chrome folder of my profile directory. Sadly, that solution no longer works in Version 89.

See the attached image for my userChrome.css file, and how ridiculous it looks with two sets of window controls.

Please help me remove the minimize, maximize and close buttons when I maximize my firefox window.

I have a problem that I have already found threads that list both the issue and the fix, but they are pretty ludicrous.

If you care about privacy and security and enable the about:config privacy.resistFingerprinting option, Firefox then refuses to remember window size and position between startups.

So rather than block Firefoxes SENDING of window position during fingerprinting attempts, they just turn off the ability for it to store window size and positions entirely. This is idiotic and almost seems to be malicious to the point of trying to aggravate users into not taking their privacy seriously. It is either malicious in an attempt to aggravate you into not worrying about your privacy or lazy programming, one of the two.

Should this be reported as a bug or what even though it seems to be functioning as intended, however idiotic that may be.

When features are blocked for privacy sake, the features and functionality themselves should never be disabled. Only refusing to send the data back out when fingerprint requests happen.

debian Linux 64bit,firefox 87 is fine. It's a problem with 88.0. try: firefox https://bing.com I can see the title changed,but blank webpage.

try: rm -fr ~/.mozilla run firefox 88.0 , same thing happens.
