typing in the search window in the middle of the page jumps to the address bar at the top of the page How do I stop that? It does not matter which search engine I use Bing, Google, DuckDuckGo, It just started happening in Firefox.

I am using Firefox developer edition I noticed it has updated itself to latest version  : 117.0b1(64-bit)

I always have Firefox updates so version before that was the 116.b08

After the update on startup I get the error message attached I close it and then Firefox runs normally but this happens on every time I run Firefox.

I am developing a website (using AstroJS, but i don't think that's the problem) and since yesterday I am experiencing issues when opening devtools. Once I open devtools the whole FF tab becomes unresponsive, I cannot even refresh the page until they are done loading. I can change devtool tabs from 'inspector' to 'console' to 'network' etc but especially 'network' and 'debug' tabs are blank.

I run a 'performance' capture and got these results. In the test I have only opened the devtools and switched to the inspector tab which is unresponsive. The CPU usage is at around 90% however, I don't really know how to read the finding and understand what the problem is.

So anyone that can help me understand what is going on here?

Using Firefox today I tried to search for various things using https://oceanhero.today/search.. I got this error message:

"Sorry, there was an error when rendering your search. We were notified and will try to resolve this issue as soon as possible."

But the search engine - which I've been using on Firefox for a long time without any problems - works fine on Bing.

Is there a remedy? Many thanks for any advice.

I have chosen a colorful garden theme for my new Firefox browser but now I can barely see my taskbar and any text above the taskbar. It is all very small and white. The main screen area below is white. I would prefer black thicker text for that area but don't see how to do that in any of the articles I have found. I don't want to make all my text bigger, just the Firefox specific headers. Can anyone help?

I just moved into a new Dell Laptop and downloaded the latest Firefox program and loaded it. I moved my Profile and all is good EXCEPT, the Home Page News Items listed on the previous Dell Laptop are gone. Running the same Virus Protection, I can't figure out how to get those news stories back. HELP!!

Greetings, I have a website for my small business and I do a newsletter for my customers. The newsletter includes links to my home page, which is a fully qualified domain, https://www.prettypennydesigns.net/ When I check my newsletter, the link to my website goes to Firefox's home page. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? I also have a link to my contact page and that link does work. Thank you so much for any help!

HI. I recently purchased a new laptop and have Windows 11 Home (64 bit) installed. I installed the latest version of Firefox (v117). I am attempting to copy the bookmarks from another laptop - same version of Windows and the same version of Firefox. 1. I exported the toolbar bookmarks from old laptop which created an HTML file - file type shows as

   Firefox HTML Document.

2. On the new laptop I went through the process, Manage bookmarks,

     highlighted the Bookmarks Toolbar, selected  Import bookmarks from HTML, selected the file I wanted
     then 'OPENED'  the file I wanted to use. 

3. The process ended very quickly, file was not large. I clicked on the HOME icon and NO bookmarks

    were displayed on the toolbar, no bookmarks in the Other Bookmarks either. 

4. The only change was - all bookmarks from the old laptop were listed under 'Recent bookmarks' which

    made no sense since I had not visited them on the new laptop. 

5. I went through the process twice and I now see duplicate entries in the 'Recent bookmarks', no bookmarks.

So, what have I missed or does the export / import process simply not work? I have not tried the backup / restore process since this is the all or nothing approach and I may want to copy a few bookmarks in the future using the export / import process.

Does anyone have any ideas since I'm stopped at this point in time.

Hi All,

I recently made a post that was resolved where enabling "Remember search and form history" would hang my browser.

In regards to this option, I really want to keep the "remember search" function but disable the "form history" option.

I'm aware that in about:config, the option browser.formfill.enable removed the form but is there a separate option to enable remember search?

So I'm running firefox developer edition, and with the same extensions on normal plain firefox, the search results kinda lag behind. If i type fast enough/normal speed, the words underneath the actual typing bar will lag behind. if i type slowly it doesnt do this...

Hi, Various Sites (sometimes firefox as a whole) keep crashing regularly. I am running Arch Linux (6.4.12, default kernel) with Hyprland WM on an old i7-7700K with a Nvidia GTX980TI. Apart from Firefox the system runs stable. When doing research, or just browsing text based sites, firefox is also very stable, but on some sites like twitch, youtube, or idle games like "Antimatter Dimensions" (ivark.github.io) the browser (or page) crashes regularly. It also happens in Troubleshoot mode, also after a clean re-install (including deleting /.mozilla in /home) and since various versions over the last couple of month. The latest crash report ID is bp-67ed2673-4ed2-452b-bc63-dc1060230831. I know I'm running a niche system, but I really like my setup and apart from those crashes it's amazing, so I hope you can help and point me in the right direction as to what could cause the crashes. HTTPS://SECURE.SSA.GOV open okay but when go to next page to SIGN-IN, Firefox is blocking it as following/below. What the heck is going on blocking SSA Sign-In after main Website is already open ?!?!?!?!?!

I have both the standard address window, and a separate search window. When I type a www.XXX.com into the ADDRESS window, I expect to go there. Instead, I get a google search! WTF?!

Youtube isn't showing anything anymore (thumbnails, comments, etc.) when uBlock is active. Only when uBlock is deactivated (either only for this website or entirely) Youtube works again.
