I am using a computer in my office which is a shared computer with the server so if i use the private browsing mode whether is it possible to track my browsing history in the server computer. I understand the private browsing mode will not save any browsing history in my system but my question is will the history save on the server computer or not.. please post me a detailed answer.

I am running Windows XP and for some reason Firefox will not start up. I want to re-install but want to save my bookmarks so that i can import them back in. Does anyone know where this bookmark/favorite file might be located?

I recently installed the 4.0b2. After that I uninstalled 4.0b1. I have now lost all my preferences (bookmarks+history+themes+ext. etc.). Is it all lost or can I get them back?

I am using Firefox 4.0 Beta 2 on Vista Ultimate and the browser.tabs.tabMinWidth doesn't seem to work (have set it to 150). I've restarted the browser since setting this configuration, but that hasn't had any effect.

Has this setting been deprecated/removed in Firefox 4.0?

I would like to make it so that my browsing history cannot be cleared or is saved to another folder automatically. I would like to make it so that you have to have a password to clear the history.

Although I have chosen to delete cookies upon exit, I would like to keep certain cookies. Is there a way to specify which cookies to keep on exit and which ones to clear?

I was able to use firefox, but all my bookmarks and history disappeared. Also, the forward and back arrow and refresh buttons weren't working. I followed the directions for restoring firefox profiles, and that didn't work. I wasn't able to open firefox again, and I received the message: "a copy of firefox is already open. only one copy of firefox can be open at a time." I tried closing firefox, even uninstalling it and reinstalling another file, but I still get the same message over and over again.

I am an administrator for a small network (300 users) and am pushing out new images. Each user has their own log-in since I am using Active Directory. The problem is, I want to put Firefox on all of them and have AdBlock Plus & Adobe Flash to be added on when they log on with their profile for the first time and launch Firefox. Is there a way to have it set up through the default profile, so that it can be added each time a new profile is created on each individual machine instead of manually doing it?

This has happened twice in the past week. When I create a new folder nested inside two other existing folders, another folder in another branch is renamed to the newly-created folder's name. The folder that is being renamed is inside the Links folder. (I am not expecting an answer. I cannot find another place where I can report an issue with the browser.)

i have followed all steps to save my passwords but none are working, i recently cleared everything out in the options because i thought cookies were freezing my pc, now when i login to a site my pw's r not saved at all no matter whhat your help file tells me to do.

I upgraded from the old Mozilla browser to Firefox and all my bookmarks disappeared. Now what do I do? Also does Firefox have an email system? I'm using Mozilla but don't want to lose all my emails.....thanks

FF updated to 3.6.8 today. I misread the install question re: importing bookmarks and selected 'do not import'. I meant to not import any from IE, but to keep my FF bookmarks. The only Bookmarks.html file I can find on my drive is the empty default one from the new upgrade. Is my old file saved anywhere so I can restore it? I'm running Window XP. Thanks for any help!

I've had this problem for at least half a year now and have completely uninstalled firefox several times and have no add-ons. Noone at firefox seems to be able to, or want to help fix this problem so I'm done....

I've uninstalled firefox and will start using google crome. You had your chance firefox, and you failed.

Bookmarks doesn't work everytime there is a firefox update. Its a recurring problem The most recent update is to firefox 3.6.8.

I had told the computer to delete cookies when I shut the computer off. I followed your route to Tools > Options > Privacy > History and saw that Accept all cookies until they expire was already checked. BUT unchecking Clear history when Firefox closes reversed the problem (I had checked it -- now I unchecked it). Thanks for directing me to that location. Yahoo! keeps me logged in now!
