In Manage Data, I can see which cookies are used by which sites. If I want to sign in to a specific site automatically while still generally deleting cookies when I turn off Firefox, then I need to list all the cookies used by that site in Manage Permissions as Allow. This is easy regarding sites that use cookies all with pme common domain, since you just enter the one domain name. Today I wanted to preserve cookies from a major newspaper, but I find at least five domain names in the cookies that I have to protect in order to enable auto sign-in for that one site. My suggestion is that there be some improved method for easily 'transfering' (rather than writing down and re-keying) selected cookie domains from Manage Data to Manage Permissions, instead of having to rekey them and make errors doing that. If I want to auto sign-in to 15 sites, but keep the controls set for deleting unprotected cookies when closing Firefox, I would have to enter perhaps 75 domains by hand. An alternative might be a column in Manage Cookies whereby I could check mark a cookie, thereby transfering it to show in Manage Permissions, perhaps as defaulting to Allow for Session. Then I could review them and if desired switch each to Allow.

presented by the home page.

In vain I answer that I accept or refuse, it works on a few selection clicks then the banner reappears!

It's very very annoying

So I switch to Chrome and I don't have this pb so I conclude that it comes from Firefox!

I am retired from IT with 50 years in the business and I do not understand this bug.

Could you delete this permanent alert, especially since it has only appeared for a very few years.

Of course I could do without Firefox and use Chrome as my default browser, but I prefer Mozilla to Google.

Thank you in advance for your answer and remove this headband that breaks our feet.

It would be really nice if there was a standard for websites to follow in terms of setting cookie preferences, that way these settings can be set at browser level and be automatically accepted based on those settings, instead of having to have popups *all the time*.

Any thoughts around this?

Hello! I'm trying to figure out how to export the site data of a specific website from my browser so I can import it on another domain or a different browser profile.

I have some quite important data that an application stored locally in my browser, but now the website went down. I want to copy the existing data to my own instance of the application running on another domain so I can continue where I left off.

This seems like it would be a very basic task to be able to backup and migrate your own data like you can with any native application. But as far as I can tell the developer tools offer no such option and all the add-ons that were able to do this stopped working or vanished.

Any help would be appreciated.

My corporate intranet site uses cookies. It used to work on Firefox with no troubles. A year + ago, it stopped working. It still works fine with IE and Edge.

I found the issue is the cookie. When I check it on the login page, the cookie is there and I can access the values inside of it. After i redirect to the next page, the cookie is no longer there. I am reading it using request.cookie("CookieName")("CookieVariable").

Can someone give me advice what can be causing this?

Thanks.

Hello.

I've just enabled browser.ssb.enabled and tried using it in a random website. So I noticed a few things, which I would like to confirm, and found an issue I would like some help with:

1) Is the SSB a different, clean profile?

2) Is there any way to enable specific add-ons in a specific SSB?

I had trouble with a cookies issue: the website requires logging in, but it opens a separate link in a new tab, and Firefox is opening that link as a regular new tab in my main window and not making any link between that new tab and the open SSB, so even after I successfully log-in, the SSB is clueless and remain un-logged. So:

3) Is there a way to solve that?

4) Is there a way I can list which addresses (domains, subdomains...) Firefox should include in an SSB (as opposed to opening in a new tab in the main window)?

5) Where can I find documentation on how 'Firefox as SSB' works, how to customize, etc.?

Thanks.

Previous versions of FF allowed you to select individual cookies that wouldn't be deleted when FF closed. This meant you wouldn't have to log in to your favorite sites each time you opened FF; - you'd already be logged in. Later versions of FF no longer have this functionality. However, IE and Safari both do have this functionality. For example, I used to be able to keep my google cookies and browse straight into google reader after the browser opened. Now I always have to login. Does anyone know if the functionality will be restored to FF? The current lack of versatile cookie settings is a hindrance to efficiency.

(PS. Cor-el, please don't answer as you're wrong on this. The key messages are that FF used to have this functionality and plenty of other users agree, and IE and Safari still have it so go and check it yourself, and it has nothing to do with Clear Recent History.) Thanks all. :)

With firefox 17.0 Norton 360 does not pick up tracking cookies that were picked up with firefox 16.0.2. Uninstalled 17.0 and and reinstalled 16.0.2 - tracking cookies are picked up - updated to 17.0 and again no tracking cookies. I did not see anything in release note that would seem to reflect this situation. asked this question at 08:57 PST 11/29/2012 and the reply stated that Norton 360 should still be able to remove tracking cookies. WELL IT DOES NOT - WHAT HAS CHANGED FROM 16.0.2 TO 17.0 THAT WOULD CAUSE THIS. IS THIS A NEW BUG? The first reply did not answer my question however it was marked as "solved". I have rolled back to 16.0.2 and updated to 17.0 twice and the same thing has happened both times.
