edit: lmao i figured it out, actually i was just being stupid! don't know how to delete this question though, so, the stupidity continues!

i just switched to firefox and wanted to import my bookmarks from chrome. when i tried to import it directly from chrome, it worked just fine, but it pulled off an older bookmarks data from chrome before i had cleaned it out deleting, like, probably over a hundred of them and before saving some other new ones, so i decided to delete those and start from scratch and instead import my current set up via html. unfortunately, under my bookmarks library it looks like they imported alright but they don't show up on my actual bookmarks toolbar at all? i'm 100% i made an extremely simple mistake i'm gonna feel like a real fool for not realizing, but as of right now i don't understand where i went wrong :') screencap included to show how my library shows up + how my toolbar is, additionally don't judge my bookmarks i know i'm a nerd, i'm ashamed, it's christmas cut me some slack :')

Where are my saved websites saved? Also, am I able to "share" the file over my LAN? I have a desktop PC and a laptop connected to my network. What I would like to do is make it so whether I save (or bookmark?) a site on the laptop or desktop it is available on both. Does this make sense? If I need to do a better job explaining just let me know. Currently, I am successfully sharing the IE 'Favorites' folder so the links are always in sync and the same links are available on both of my machines.

I have tried everything to delete some of my bookmarks. I can't right click on the bookmark folder to delete...it doesn't work. I've tried going to the web page and deleting using the star icon at the top without any success. How can I delete bookmarks???? Martin Golding

I had went into the task manager and accidentally deleted the firefox task the was going. When I went back on firefox, all my bookmarks were gone. I tried restarting it, without any luck. I tried getting the backups, to find I had none. Nothing has worked for me. Thought originally I was trying to get google chrome on my computer, only for that not to work, so I'm not sure if that may have messed it up or not. Please help me.

when I try to import my favorites from internet explorer, only half of my favorites (a-m) are transferred. Is there any way to increase the capacity of the folder?

We are changing internet providers from comcast to clearwire at the end of this week. Will our firefox bookmarks go with us to our new provider or will we lose them?

I had some existing Firefox bookmarks but wanted to add some from Safari. Now, the bookmarks imported from safari show up as one bookmark called IMPORTED FROM SAFARI. How can they be merged so that all the bookmarks fall under the main Bookmarks Menu?

I was fiddling around with some add ons, but for some reason now whenever I try to open a bookmark it opens them in a weird little side bar thing on the left of my screen. How can I make it so that my bookmarks open up in my current tab again?

I have backupped my bookmarks using Firefox's functionality to do it automatically and saved the file to an external HD before I was making a clean installation of Windows, which means all my files were removed. Later on, after re-installing Firefox, I tried to use the backup I had so I can have all my bookmarks once again, but when I try to look for that file, it seems it has the wrong format (a regular "File" instead of JSON or HTML, not sure which one of them should it be). So I tried to change it to "*.JSON" and it still didn't shoe up in the dialog box. So I tried "*.HTML", which DOES show up but everytime I try to import it, it actually does nothing.

I really need this file since it contains many sites that I need. Thanks in advance.

I have my bookmarks up but want to make them shorter, with less of a title. For instance, instead of saying, "chartway federal cred..." I just want it to say, "chartway". is there a way to do this?

I am running Mozilla Firefox 20.0.1 under Windows 7 Ultimate. I am trying to import bookmarks from Internet Explorer 9.0.15. If the bookmark has a subdirectory, I don't get any of the links in the subdirectory.

This has not happened on my other computers: Internet Explorer 8 under Windows XP Professional Internet Explorer 9 under Windows 7 Professional

from homepage, I can access a bookmarked site...but when I try to switch from that site (any bookmarked site) to my Hotmail bookmarked site (which is my homepage site), it always "times out" and doesn't complete the connection back...this did not used to be a problem. Restoring my computer to a previous time when it still functioned as desired, does not solve the problem, either...

I have a new computer (MS Windows 7). I imported my bookmarks, but I'm thinking I imported them twice. How do I get rid of the second sect without clearing everything and starting over.

I created a folder, now known as "new folder" for my bookmarks tool bar. I have never put any bookmarks into it, and now I want to get rid of it. Moving it above or below the tool bar does not work. How do I do this?
