EVERY SINGLE TIME FIREFOX UPDATES THEY OPEN A NEW TAB AND ADVERTISE FEATURES AND GARBAGE I DO NOT CARE ABOUT.

DESPITE EVERY SETTING IMAGINABLE, IT STILL DOES IT. EVERY TIME.

WHY? WHY DO YOU NOT RESPECT YOUR USER'S REQUESTS AND CONTINUE TO DO THIS?

WE ALL REMEMBER THE TIME YOU SHOVED ADVERTISEMENTS INTO IT.

I"D RATHER PAY FOR FIREFOX THAN HAVE THIS RIDICULOUS GARBAGE HAPPEN EVERY TIME YOU UPDATE THE APPLICATION.

MAKE A SETTING FOR THIS OR SOMETHING THAT YOU WON'T JUST IGNORE OR OVERRIDE THE NEXT TIME YOU WANT TO SPAM YOUR ENTIRE USER BASE

I want to drop ALL SPORTS CONTENT ON MY NEW PAGES & HOME PAGE. Every day I 'dismiss' every one. I 'thumbs down' every one. I've reported as SPAM, OUTDATED, tried to find modifications in 'settings'. I've clicked on the pencil at the bottom right corner...ZERO help. All I could find is the choice to "allow" or "not allow" recommended by & curated by staff. HELP ME MAKE IT STOP, PLEEZE.

When I downloaded Firefox, I was able to add sites in a start page. There were sponsored sites like Amazon, Wikipedia, Reddit. I deleted those and added my own. Can you tell me where to find that page?

In the settings, I selected a custom url for the homepage. The only other choice was the Firefox default page (which doesn't have the sites that I selected)

Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch Firefox (and add Sites shortcuts) 2. Do not navigate to any website 3. Observe network activity using Process Monitor or clash verge

Expected Behavior: - Opening about:home should not establish TCP connections to remote sites unless the user interacts with them.

Actual Behavior: - TCP connections are observed immediately to sites listed in Top Sites shortcuts, even without user interaction.

Notes: - Disabling DNS prefetch, speculative preconnect, and predictor settings does not prevent these connections. - Extensions have been ruled out, I can distinguish darkreader.org(extention) mozilla.org(update) and reddit.com(your sponsor url) from *.edu.*(my shortcuts), DON'T mention that. - Connections occur before any page navigation or clicks. - I suspect that Firefox may attempt to load site icons (favicon / tile thumbnails), but this is unconfirmed.

I would like to propose a change to this section of you browser:

settings/home/firefox home content/shortcuts - the option includes both sites I visit and sites I save.

Is there a way to chose only sites I save? I do not want my browsing history mixed in with the shortcuts I choose to save on my home screen. I have been using firefox on all of my computers and other devices for a long time. I recently had to delete all of my passwords from firefox password manager for a more secure application due to your changes in privacy policy. I need to resolve this setting as well, so that my shortcuts (those I have pinned to my home screen) are not interfered with by browsing history. It does not make sense why I have to choose either both or neither.

How to keep or restore shortcuts when refreshing firefox?

Whenever I refresh firefox due to malfunctions with firefox I must take a screenshot of my 4 rows of shortcuts and manually re-enter all the information again for all of them otherwise some just reappear all jumbled and many are missing. 

Is there any way for firefox to keep my shortcuts and to restore them after refresh in the order and quantity that they were before?

Its so frustrating that I have to do this every time I do a refresh that it makes refreshing a chore more than a solution for the original problem/s.

How can I or can I lock my desktop so that only tiles I select appear and do not change unless I change them? I have recommended stories turned off in settings and seemingly every site I visit and article I read shows up on my desktop to replace something I actually want on my desktop.

Either removing certain ones I don't care about or getting ones back I may have already taken out?

I don't see either of those functions any more but I swear there was a way to do it just a month ago.
